Another gem. I am concentrating on baroque ( I heard The Brandenberg Comcertos aged 5 and a more than a little Bach orientated) which as you know does not use vibrato...still, it is a fundamental technique and well worth practicing even though I will be trilling. 🍧🌹
Hi Julia I really enjoy your videos as they are always full of useful tips 😊 - I have noticed that you have put some extra binding or rubber tubing on the bow grip and wondered if you could explain a little more about this please as I would like to do the same on my bow as I feel it would help my bow hold and hopefully give me better control on bow weight distribution. Look forward to hearing your comments Best Wishes Caroline
Hi Caroline! Check out my bow hold video where I talk about the rubber tubing on the bow as well as other things you may find useful. ua-cam.com/video/MNUjC29w5z4/v-deo.htmlsi=AU1bEgWg38nsZOOa
Hi Julia - Thank-You so much for replying to my question about the rubber tubing on the bow. I am recovering from a nasty injury to rhomboid and anterior serratus muscles on the right hand side of my back! This has not allowed me to play with the bow for nearly 8 weeks 😔 so am gently easing myself back to practice. I will check out the link and will keep you posted Best Wishes Caroline
@@carolinepye8694 Ouch! I hope the injury wasn't playing-related? Check out this video, which is all about gently getting back into shape: ua-cam.com/video/fWK6S1qIrKY/v-deo.html Done carefully and in small doses, you should be able to integrate the RH exercises I mention in there quite well into the physical rehab programme.
@@juliamorneweg5416 Fortunately not playing related Julia but it’s going to take time and many thanks 🙏 once again for guiding me to your link about getting into shape. Before accident I was playing to grade 5/6 pressuring myself but will now take practice slowly. Best Wishes Caroline
Thanks, great video! Do you have any exercises for beginners, though? I can't play a single note with fourth finger vibrato well, let alone parallel sixths!
Hi Lillian! Check out my video on how to learn vibrato from scratch: ua-cam.com/video/t3O02zoY8Wc/v-deo.htmlsi=UVg-LRCSPHppcoI9 Try working through that programme systematically for a few weeks and you'll hopefully start to see big improvements on all fingers! Have fun!
Great Julia!
Love the stretch with the double stop. Tritone with third and fourth finger is fun too.
Thank you!
Thank you, this is so helpful and love the approach re capacity
