Thank you so very much, Jazzie. Oh, it would be lovely if it worked that way - I get automatic copyright on the lyrics but this isn't an earner for me - copyright holders of the melody get first rights to any revenue. But that's okay. I'm glad I made this and got great satisfaction from doing so. But thank you for your generosity.
@ Oh, I get it. Too bad. But you've made (at minimum!) many thousands of people think about and laugh heartily at a societal ill that can't be ignored. You've got talent kid! Which is good, because I really don't have the $1,000,000 you deserve.😉
I also happen to love reading books, and I also love working puzzle books. If I ever see somebody about fall into an open manhole, I will just watch them and get a great laugh. If that sounds like I have a cruel sense of humor, you are right, because people keep on proving that I am intelligent and the people who are glued to their phones don't know how to enjoy their surroundings anymore because of their phones. So yes, I won't be stopping them from falling into an open manhole.

Wow! That is so spot on. I've never been more thankful that I'm a control freak than now. Social media came very much in handy during lockdown, but I deleted FB from my phone because it was wasting too much of my time. It takes effort to boot up the computer to use it and I set time limits. I like to play solitaire on my phone, but my rule is, I win 3 games, I get off and go do something else. The last time I saw people with those non-expressions on their faces was back in the 70s when I was locked up in a mental institution and surrounded by people on heavy doses of things like Thorazine and Haldol.
Loved this one. You know though, online has been a lifesaver these last two years here in Melb, Aus. Lockdowns have been awful and all my friends live outside my 5-10km radius. Another good thing is I met up with a fellow online friend and we became friends in real life…and I’ve only been able to see her a few times thanks to endless lockdowns 😖. Must say I was not expecting Zombie by The Cranberries. That always flashes me back to the bombing of my home town in ‘93. It hit us really hard. My brother was the same age as Tim Parry and likely in the same school if we’d stayed.
3 роки тому+1
Oh, wow - the bombing sounds terrible. Sorry if this song brought an unexpected flash back for you. As for online being a lifesaver - I agree. It's a double edged sword for me. I so appreciate the many good things it brings, but I also see the entropy it causes in lives.
O Shirley, you have gone number one with this. Absolutely the best.....Eagles, my favourite group. All time favourite song, greetings from across the ditch.
If you continue to do work like this you may become as lucky as Russell Crowe and Australia adopts you and tells the world you are one of us. 😂 Amazing work… ❤️

Wow, this is an EXCELLENT video and so true. I was a kid when Prodigy came out.I immediately felt this rush that KNOWLEDGE ANYTHING we wanted to know was now obtainable with a few click of my mouse.I told people I was "addicted " to the web". They laughed. They are NOT laughing now because MANY of them now suffer the SAME fate and its actually SAD .
I love this parody! Thought of it yesterday when a lady looking at her phone walked right into my cart yesterday at the grocery store. I protested, "Excuse me!" but she didn't take her eyes from the screen, but just kept pushing into me and my cart. I finally bumped her gently with the cart, thinking she'd stop but she didn't look up. At last, I said, "EXCUSE ME!" and she lifted blank eyes to me before she took a couple steps to the side, lowered her eyes again and wandered on. HONESTLY!
I think this was one of my favorites that I have watched so far. And the irony of it all that I’m using my phone while on social media… I look forward to following you and thank you! Looks like an incredible amount of work and a lot of fun. You have a beautifully gifted voice. ❤

Thank you, Twotofourfoot! I'm not sure the Babylonians had an issue with phone addiction though.... 😆
@ Well said. I appreciate your art.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE tell me you and your creative team (if there is one) have trademarked this parody/video/lyrics!!! You should make at least $1,000,000 from this genius creation!!
Haha - that's quite alright! And thank you.
Felicitaciones, un gran trabajo reescribiendo la letra!. Más que parodia es una triste verdad.
WOW!!!!!! Oh my goodness Shirley, fantastic!!!! Nailed it again. 💕💕
Thank you!!!
This woman is a genius!!
Aw, thank you!
She really is 🙌
Brilliant parody! Great work, Shirley.
Thank you!
Another brilliant one!! ❤️❤️❤️ Yes, we are all guilty of being 'zombies'! 😐
Indeed. Thanks!
Not all of us. I only use my phone Internet when it's safe and NEVER crossing the road . I will answer a call while walking but. I look up.
Not just a fantastic parody, but also a very important message. One of the best and most important parodies/messages out there. This deserves WAY more likes and views! Keep it up :)
Thank you, Fredo.
AWESOME!! LOVED THE ENDING!!
Yay! Thank you!
Chills went up my spine when you went in to Zombie chorus. What an apt conclusion!
Thank you!
So well done. Great reminder to experience the real world. 😺💜💚
Thank you! 😊
Yes!!! It's official!!! Menopause Rhapsody #1, It's Aging Men #2 so this makes "my" #3 slot! Another great one! Love the Eagles so that makes it even better! I've just never seen anyone so talented.....in this area/field! Thank you for making me smile......again!
Glad you enjoyed it - thank you!
Thank you for this great parody , Shirley ! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
@ 🙌
Ironic, brilliant, but ironic. Now, can't hang about must watch a few more of Shirley's videos!
😆 Believe me, I sensed the irony as I made it!
I know you are a teacher, how do you find time to do these to such good quality?
This is how I unwind after work!
Just love this song! Has very deep and remembering messages ❤! This song needs a raise!❤
Thank you!
Happy to have a response from the author! ☺️ My pleasure!🙇🤗
Hi Shirley, this is your best ever, with you on every sentiment, we have all become digital creatures, so sad, we used to talk to each other, now it is all messages, text and whatsapp, no real contact, no eye contact, we are now all prisoners, of our own making... keep going, you lift all our spirits....e (West Coast Ireland)
Thank you, Ned. I love the irony that we are here, communicating digitally about this!!
Well done video. The whole world needs to see this one.
Wow isn't that the truth. Well done 👍👏👏👏
Thanks so much, Geraldine!
The best thing I did was to stop looking at Facebook. I was watching so many videos that I wasn't even interested in.
Another classic Shirley, I loved it.
Thank you, xxPenjoxx! Yes, I deleted all my fb friends about 4 years ago and no looking back. I still go on facebook for work, and now also for a music page linked with this channel. But it is freeing to not have my eyes and mind filled with photos of random breakfasts taken by people I used to go to school with.
This song sent chills down my spine because it's so scary true.
Love the nod to the cranberries Zombie at the end
I just had to!
Above and beyond genius! You have such a great voice and your brain’s ability to write these parodies are mind blowing and to top it off you make these amazing videos! Let’s don’t forget how relevant all of they are! Weird Al wishes he was on your level!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️
That's lovely, Cathy - thank you. Weird Al is my parody hero - I'd be very happy to be anywhere near his level!
Good on you, Miriam!!
Hey, Miriam, fellow former looney-bin-er here! 😄 Big hugs to you!🤗🤗🤗
Loved this one.
Oh, wow - the bombing sounds terrible. Sorry if this song brought an unexpected flash back for you.
As for online being a lifesaver - I agree. It's a double edged sword for me. I so appreciate the many good things it brings, but I also see the entropy it causes in lives.
"...UA-cam subscribers and strangers called friends..." NAILED IT, hahahahaha!
Nice but missing the famous guitar solo.
Yeah, I leave that with the experts! 😁
O Shirley, you have gone number one with this. Absolutely the best.....Eagles, my favourite group. All time favourite song, greetings from across the ditch.
So glad you liked it, Maree - thank you!
Whoa! This one is potent! And here I am watching it, transfixed 😢like in the pictures!
If you continue to do work like this you may become as lucky as Russell Crowe and Australia adopts you and tells the world you are one of us. 😂 Amazing work… ❤️
😆 Thank you, Auscop!
Brilliant, inspiring, and a necessary intervention.
Thank you!
Fucked up truth
Love the Cranberries parody from @3:56 on
Thanks!
Finally someone else caught it!
Excellent! , so very sadly true in this age of technology! Remember the good old days before cellphone mania, where people actually communicated and talked to one another! Genius Shirley you captured it & wrapped it up so well! 👍❤👏
Thank you!
Isn't this our new era???? Yep. Shirley, you're are ❤🎉 so phenomenal. I love literally all that you provide us with lots of smiles. You are sure an "up lifter." Many thanks!
Wow, thank you!
HONESTLY!
Scary - but it happens so often!
I think this was one of my favorites that I have watched so far. And the irony of it all that I’m using my phone while on social media… I look forward to following you and thank you! Looks like an incredible amount of work and a lot of fun. You have a beautifully gifted voice. ❤
Wow, thank you!
You are very welcome! 🙏 And a pleasure to hear from you in reply. 😊 Thank you, again. My son has enjoyed your videos too.
Nicely done. Cranberries and the Eagles, two great bands, two great songs nicely blended!
Thank you, S G!
Ironically I am watching this parody on a smartphone. Did my best to lift my head throughout the song.
Haha!! 🧟♂️📱
Great song! Thank you Shirley. ❤
Thank you, Nan.
Awesome, and 100 percent accurate!! Genius! Thank you Shirley! 👏👏👏👏
Thank you, Donna!
Shirley this is excellent!!!!! You’ve really hit the nail on the head!!!!
Thank you, SD H!
This lady is amazing. Such quality work. Glad I found her and you're appreciated
Thanks so much!
Oh my my my. One of my favorite songs. When I was a teenager, I used to listen to this song over and over again for hours.
Now this version is my favorite too--true to life!
What will people do if the internet and smart phones stop working...
They'll be lost... LOL 😂
Society has definitely changed!
Nice mashup. Really well done!
Thank you, lzeph!
You are so brilliant, Shirley. As usual, I'm starstruck. Just incredible!
Aw - thanks so much, MoonFall!
Genius this! The ending with The Cranberries - Zombie song was great!
Thanks so much, Master Green.
The fusion of Zombie song and Hotel California is just ingenius!!! !==
Thanks so much. They just seemed to fit for me.
Brilliant. I can remember rotary dial telephones, now people sent text messages instead of talking.
