Thank you so much I have been trying to find this information everywhere - Here in Australia, I use a lot of premixed pouring paint - by Mont Marte- Very reasonably priced - good pigment - and great after sales service - and have been looking for something that will lace over them very well - they’re a little bit different - will try this tomorrow and see if it works - but I think it will - thank you so much for being so free with sharing your information. I desperately appreciate it - and I love listening to your voice. If I can’t sleep I put one of your videos on much better than Bob Ross. Cheers
While Detroit enjoys a wonderful day of sunshine, Borthern Calis enjoying hail……what is this world coming to! Love this mixture and the cells it creates. Thanks for always coming up with new ways todo old things!
Honestly I've just used Amsterdam and water and it made about the same lacing! Great for spinning, however, it doesn't hold up to tilting. But if you're going for a traditional bloom, this works great!!
It is working and getting awesome effects but i think its too thin which takes away line definition. I tried much less water and got way bolder very defined cells. Also I’ve done 3 now with this recipe and am really diggin it!! Thank you brother for sharing it with us!! 🙇♂️ they all have wonderful gradients from one color to the next blending perfectly it’s amazing 🤩 thanks again well done 👏 👏
I like the potential this has. I'm not fond of a lot of swipes and blooms because there always seems to be a big puddle of black left in the middle. I didn't see that here. Looking forward to future testing :)
Great find, JMo!! I love the slightly weaker (for lack of a better word) lacing that gives it a web effect! Very cool! Thanks for sharing a new avenue to gorgeous cells!! All the best to you and yours!
Pretty cool, hope the lacing doesn't disappear though. A little of it left. Maybe to thin. Love the colors. I don't have Amsterdam paints. Expensive. Maybe I will try. Thank you.
Hello J! thank you for your amazing videos. I am experimenting with non-silicone cell activators. I am having trouble with paint consistency. Does the cell activator need to be thicker or thinner than the colors and/or base color?
I have the amsterdam drops but the craft stores near me dont carry amsterdam paint. Idk why. But whenever u use amsterdam as your activating color people tend to get great results. However if u only have the drops and use a different brand of paint it does NOT work anywhere near as well! I prob need to order online. Or get some australian floetrol. I love the painting btw!
it says 1/2 water and 1/2 paint is the paint the in or is it 2 drops of ink in the paint? can you add to different colors. also with it being that thin what would happen if up put the thin inked paint in a spray bottle and did a pour painting then sprayed the painting after you spread the paint across the canvas would the cells still open up?
Blessings JMo! I love it! All that lacing is fantastic! The whole thing looks like eagles dancing in the sky together! It's really an awesome piece for sure!
Hello I'm new. Wouod you mind to share the method how you prepare the white base layer, is it water and acrylics or do tyoi add something else ie PVA or flortrol and in which proportions. I searched UA-cam and now I'm overwhelmed to the point that I want to give up the idea before I even started 😢
gorgeous Johnny. hey I thot id share with u sumthing u can use to put over your spinner....disposable shower caps..they're perfect its brilliant. you'll love it. get em by the hundreds off amazon!!
Do you ever feel like your being wasteful when doing fluid art? I tried it for a while loved doing it but was always fretting about so much pain t/materials being wasted.
So when I went to Lowes today they only had the oil based pre-treat... I notice yours didn't say oil base so I didn't get it.. 🤷♀️ And of course no one was around to ask if they had another kind
I have to be honest it's definitely an interesting effect but I would say that it's more like a crackle glaze rather than cells. I'd be interested to see if you left out the acrylic ink if you would still get these cool results because Amsterdam paints do react like crazy even when mixed with just water. Molly from Molly's Artistry actually uses Amsterdam and water for their swipe cell activator sometimes and she gets some incredible results. I think her ratio is slightly different so the cells are more uniform in shape and the lacing is a little stronger but she gets results very similar to these. It's definitely worth checking out her channel, she's a total sweetheart! 😊
Needed more info on last part about cell activator....more exact. And what was it you were passing over the painting periodically- a heat gun? A little confusing with the driping,spatula..not a beginners video
It’s great initially but the black is sinking into the paint and disappearing especially in the pink. Maybe if you made the activator thicker it would stay!? Good experimentation tho!!! It’s how we advance the world of fluid art!
I would think not as the alcohol is likely to break down the binders in the paint. I'm not an expert or anything so I couldn't say for sure but that would be my theory anyway.
So expensive to do one of these size pictures. I even use up crusty old paint to try and get cost effectiveness. Crusty paint can make an interesting texture. Just need to make sure you don’t overwork it and create mud.
Yeah these are there at the beginning but they don’t stay and they’re very light it’s the pressure that creates the cells not the activator there is no chemical composition to make cells it’s the pressure going into the paint come on
Your black didn't make the lacing, your lacing is in the colors, and whatever you mixed them with. Your black made mud, so it was too thin. Just speaking from experience.
Thank you so much for being transparent, and actually sharing the recipe!
Its 99% Isopropyl alcohol. $5 - $8 at ur local store
I'm not ready to mess with inks . However, those colors are gorgeous together. Bravo.

This is a game changer, not everyone can afford the floetrol from Australia 😢, thanks for sharing
Looks great! You said you used 50% paint to 50% water but how much paint was used as the base amount?
My question too? Need to know for ink droppers added.
How are you doing on this wonderful day?
I'm not too big on swipes, but I love the lacing this created. Beautiful work as usual 😊
Me either (I generally always mess them up), but the blow out part was way cool, looked easier & intriguing. Look forward to more of that.
The lacing is amazing and the way the colors just mixed... you created a rainbow. Very nice!
While Detroit enjoys a wonderful day of sunshine, Borthern Calis enjoying hail……what is this world coming to! Love this mixture and the cells it creates. Thanks for always coming up with new ways todo old things!
That’s Northern CA
That’s super cool!!!! What an interesting idea. & I love the results of this canvas. The bright colors are definitely my thing. Happy colors!!
Pétant de belles couleurs wow wow wow j'adore felicitation mr 👍👍👍🥰
Hi JMo, Thanks for sharing when you said 50/50 for paint/water how much paint/water did you have before adding the 2 droppers of ink.
Mind BLOWN!
Hello, do you know if it works also with different colour of ink or just with the black?
Honestly I've just used Amsterdam and water and it made about the same lacing! Great for spinning, however, it doesn't hold up to tilting. But if you're going for a traditional bloom, this works great!!
Amsterdam and water are exactly what made his lacing. You are spot on.
@@amorin329wasn't ink added?

What do you put over the canvas after you paint to seal it?
Great find, JMo!! I love the slightly weaker (for lack of a better word) lacing that gives it a web effect! Very cool! Thanks for sharing a new avenue to gorgeous cells!! All the best to you and yours!
Hi
We’ll don bro… amazing test!
Did make another test with this cell activator ? Dose it works good after dry
You're the best!! ❤
Love from the Netherlands.
Pretty cool, hope the lacing doesn't disappear though. A little of it left. Maybe to thin. Love the colors. I don't have Amsterdam paints. Expensive. Maybe I will try. Thank you.
The colors are BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you so much for sharing this information. You pour came out beautifully! 😊
Are the 3 colors used in the beginning just plain acrylic paints? You say they're used straight out of the bottle but are these special paints?
Okay so this is fantastic. I can see several pattern uses for this.
Hello J! thank you for your amazing videos. I am experimenting with non-silicone cell activators. I am having trouble with paint consistency. Does the cell activator need to be thicker or thinner than the colors and/or base color?
This looks so fantastic 🤩 I will order this ink and have a try 🤪
That's magnificent! I can't wait to try this recipe, thank you, thank you! 🌷
Please can you help me with the recipe...?
Do ya have one with a metallic ink ? would like to see the effect.
Did I not understand? You said two droppers full of the acrylic ink, but how much of the water/paint mixture did you use? Thanks
I used a 3 oz cup. 1 ounce of paint, one ounce of water, and two droppers of ink. I hope this is helpful
I’ve recently found your channel and am love to watch your videos! It’s to know you’re from Michigan like me.
Beautiful and I love the colors

Beautiful! Just to confirm you didn’t use a base color? Also, I thought I saw you added some base around? Just to double check
Thank you, for the reciprok. I must try tjat 😊
That 😂
That’s awesome! I wonder if it will also work with other brands on ink? I’ll try the ink I have here
The colors rock :)
I can’t wait to try this .. this is Stunning!!!
Love these colors..Looks beautiful

Not one of my fav's, but last night I did your fire and ice, and it turned out awesome!
Love you get bright colors!!
Beautiful
Absolument fantastic so colorfull well done 👏👏👏
Looks superb thank you so much for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤
Blessings JMo! I love it! All that lacing is fantastic! The whole thing looks like eagles dancing in the sky together! It's really an awesome piece for sure!
Thank you so much il get the liqitex ink
What have you used to activate it
Hello I'm new. Wouod you mind to share the method how you prepare the white base layer, is it water and acrylics or do tyoi add something else ie PVA or flortrol and in which proportions. I searched UA-cam and now I'm overwhelmed to the point that I want to give up the idea before I even started 😢
I also saw a video of 50 / 50 ink and 91% alcohol that works too
How beautifully the colours became together once blended! The piece ended up so gorgeous!
Thank you for sharing the formula. It is very kind of you!
Iv had a stroke and started this to help my coordination I’m struggling to get the cells activated iv tried so many different ways
gorgeous Johnny. hey I thot id share with u sumthing u can use to put over your spinner....disposable shower caps..they're perfect its brilliant. you'll love it. get em by the hundreds off amazon!!
Do you ever feel like your being wasteful when doing fluid art? I tried it for a while loved doing it but was always fretting about so much pain t/materials being wasted.
But paint runoff can be used, thinned as a flow agent. It really works
It is all ready thinned
So ink was the "secret" inexpensive ingredient?
Cool!! >> FYI the amazon links provided above DON'T seem to be linked correctly, except the last one for State Wood Cutouts.
Very cool 😎 thanks for sharing. Definitely going to try this
Wow going to try thar thank you
Love 💕 the colors!
Where can I find the items for the cells?
I be using ALOT of bottle colors I get cells all the time lacing ,and clouds depending which brand
Cool! Have you tried with the white.
So beautiful.

She uses Australian Floetrol for her swipes. Amsterdam and water is for the rest of her colors.
Cool. Will keep your recipe in mind.
Have you tried other inks yet?
Needed more info on last part about cell activator....more exact. And what was it you were passing over the painting periodically- a heat gun? A little confusing with the driping,spatula..not a beginners video
Beautiful!! ❤
Thanks
Love it 😀
I agree with every "so cool"

Epic! 🙌
Obsessed 🤩
Love the blow out
ok didnt see the "SECRET to CHEAP Cell Activator" what is the time stamp? thx
9:43
will this work with alcohol Ink?
I would think not as the alcohol is likely to break down the binders in the paint. I'm not an expert or anything so I couldn't say for sure but that would be my theory anyway.
@@Littlewings1211 your probably right
They also have iridescent inks
I really want the painting from the thumbnail!
So expensive to do one of these size pictures.

Crusty paint can make an interesting texture.
Just need to make sure you don’t overwork it and create mud.
none of your amazon links takes directly to the product ? what is this ? uselss links you have givemn
which is opaque and which is transparent.
damn the liquitex inks where i live are at 10$ a piece... i have other inks with a slightly thicker consistency that i'll have to try out
What 2 things are in your cell activator ? You skipped that part buddy? ugh, only 1 is obvious
Amsterdam black oxide with 50% water and two droppers of Liquitex Carbon Black acrylic ink.
The editing, for me, was confusing and dsitractng. Beautiful colors!!
I'm not sure I'm seeing the difference that I get from just using amsterdam and water.. but experiments are worth trying.
You are just an Amazing Artist, blessed with Phenominal Skills👌‼️♥️ Toom@CapeTown
What's the Recipe???
It's 1 tablespoon of water
1 tablespoon paint
2 full droppers
This recipe has been around for awhile
New to me! Glad I found it so wanted to share it!
2 full droppers of what?
Where the hell in Jamaica 🇯🇲 am I going to get anything Amsterdam
Can you order online?
Psst! Johnny! The two views of pouring the colours are out of synch.
Yeah these are there at the beginning but they don’t stay and they’re very light it’s the pressure that creates the cells not the activator there is no chemical composition to make cells it’s the pressure going into the paint come on
I love the new option, but it's not cheap in Canada. Anywhere from $14-20+ per ounce!
Super sad..cannot always see what you do...camera angle is sad...learn nothing from this...
Total sympathy with you 😅
Your black didn't make the lacing, your lacing is in the colors, and whatever you mixed them with. Your black made mud, so it was too thin. Just speaking from experience.
Week week week cells
👍
Looks more like lacing than cells
