Really enjoyed this episode, from the in-depth talk about how to grow the sport re: salary cap, luxury tax, etc. to Charlie's personal account of how to persevere in the face of a seemingly daunting recovery. Keep up the great work!
Love Charlie’s truth. If I’m a player, coach, GM… beating Liga MX clubs is more attractive than USL or MLS clubs (even accounting for history). It’s greedy but it’s true. It should be all non CCC have to play in USOC. Leagues Cup is the best 18 MLS clubs. Each club would participate in 2 tournaments at most. Not that hard…
@@趙祖睿 Everythings not about Money bro. The tournaments been around for 100 years, it's about tradition. MLS has been participating in the Open Cup for the past 27 years, why all of a sudden it's a problem now?
We gotta keep the summer schedule but take off for international breaks. Summer games can be played at night to be as cool as possible. But you can’t hide from snow and -10 degrees. Honestly keep it safe for the fans.
Eaxh year they should reward the best USL team with the option to join MLS. Keep doing that until we reach a total of 40 teams. Then do promotion relegation with the 2 worst MLS teams and 2 best USL teams
They should do a winter schedule. Most of the US is very conducive to a winter schedule. Stop in Mid December and start in early Feb. Just play in the better weather areas in Feb.. Even Cincy, Columbus, Phill, NY Boston are not that cold. The only problem teams would be Montreal and Minnesota. They should be bought out. Even Chicago and Toronto would be bad in March
CCC + 2 MLS cups puts Schmetzer on MLRushmore with Kinnear, Schmid and Arena. This from a very much NOT Sounders fan. Plus they invented soccer in Seattle. Schmetzer probably involved with that.
Tbh if you just get rid of the cap or have a luxury tax, domestic player minutes will go down. It’s much easier to pay a player from South America to play center back versus developing a 20 year old American to play it. You can see playmaking positions like strikers and 10’s are dominated by foreign players (I think only Jordan Morris and Brian White scored more than 10 goals… about 25 players did that so 23 are non American/Canadian)
Yeah Big Tones - Schmetzer is feeling better than Bob! And Charlie - shame on you for your phony outrage at the notion of Sounders' consistency in the regular season: only once did we miss the playoffs in our 15 years. Like- you're going to hold partial-season injury slumps against us? (which happened to Zig just as much as Schmetz) And finally, MLS Cups are a good criteria, I agree - but how about that Champion's League Holy Grail?

Almost as if USL teams beat MLS teams every year, Stop trying to erase the Open Cup.
@Chicagofellow15 Then, tell USSF to do better jobs at advertising the tournament that can actually make a profit and all MLS teams will join smh

Add two more teams . One in Las Vegas and one in Tampa who was an original member.
We should go to 36. Go into Charleston, Sacramento, Ottawa, and a third ny team or Detroit team as well.
They should do 40 teams. Reward the top 6 USL teams with the option to move to MLS
@@nerychristian 40 is enough for two leagues with pro rel involved. If we aren’t doing pro rel no need for that
@@Tokubrother They can split the league into two leagues. Western League and Eastern League. That way they can include 6 USL teams per league

i like that idea.
Charlie... you need to take a plane trip to London to visit that man, or at least send a video greeting, with PICS pre & POST!!!!!
Wasn’t Antonio the “I lost my passport” guy?
That is terrible with Miquel Antonio. Did it happen in Jamaica? As it seems like there are a lot of these car accidents with Jamaican athletes.
I think it's a little sad that we have a young player expressing his desire to be the best of the best and Chuck just memes him.

Arena, Sigi, Vanney, Schmetzer is the mount rushmore
Hard to hear about Antonio while the captain of Canada is drunk driving. Davies a total embarrassment to club and country. From a former fan.

Americans have to step it up
So much whining about temperatures when the men’s national team played in Minnesota. So, flipping the season - you’re kidding, right?
They already Start in February, and the Final is in December.
