Filming Andover Carnival 2024!

Over the weekend we were invited to help showcase this years Andover carnival! This video starts half way up to Wey hill road, where all of the trucks were going to be gathering, before heading down into Andover at 4 O clock.
This is normally where I start by showcasing a empty street ( after the road has been closed. ) with what becomes as the whole of the Carnival procession sets up!
After filming a the build up, of the walking groups as well, as the trucks that were due to heading down into town. was planning to film the first half of the carnival was one clip, so I wouldn't miss anything when walking down. However sadly the power cable running into V lock, got pulled out by the gopro as it fell off after way down the Carnival route!
So sadly weren't able to use that file ( if anyone knows a way to create a locking pin for them that would be great )
As the Carnival headed into town, were still able to show off the scale of the Carnival this year, that was just over double the size of last year!
Nearly the end of the Andover town, the Secord tech probable of the day happened, with the gimbal Battey running out of power! Lucky, I knew that I could take a cut to where the Carnival was going to be, so I had the time to re-rig the Gh5, so I could film the rest handheld.
After the end of the Carnival, also wanted to share some of the "fun in the park" that was taking place as well! so did a lap or two to showcase some of that before calling it a day.
The key take aways, for me : Stay calm when things go wroung and trust that you know every "fix" that is possible
and something I have been able to do for a long time, is not worry about thing that I can't control. Yes it would be great if the gimbal battery didn't die.. or I didn't lose 50 mins of footage, however I can't control those things, after they happen. So the best or only thing you can do, is move foward!
