When they brought Marcus Coloma on as the new Nikolas recast that storyline was orginally suppose to be Stephan's return but Stephen Nichols opted to stay with Days Of Our Lives as Patch but he very well could still come back someday but he would need a NEW Spencer adversary since Luke was killed by his Uncle Victor.
