I saw them the same year in Modesto, CA at the local theatre downtown. So crazy, they were all wearing the same clothing. I swear this video could replace my memory of seeing them. 🤘

They did this at shows after worship and tribute was released. I remember another video of them playing in a tent during the day and they all had these white t-shirts on. Was a thing.
@@elviradistress Interesting story, two good friends of mine Mike Normandy and Matt C. were in the Long Island NY Hardcore scene. Mike was the lead singer in a pretty big hardcore band at the time & were in the same friends circles that Daryl Palumbo was around, and both Mike & Matt “allegedly” 😉 smoked cannabis with Daryl for the first time he every smoked weed, and since DP was edge I think he “broke edge” at the same time as well. I could find out the name of the band Mike was in if anyone’s interested.
@@davidcipolla4036 yes, im totally interested in what his band was called!!! im actually about to tell my friend about this story right now, thank u for sharing :)
It's also kind of ironic because this song kinda seems to be about indulging in things you said you wouldn't do, and those things harming you, and paying the consequences for it. Not that I have anything against anyone who smokes weed. Seems to do some real good for some people, but not everyone.
I looked over a lot of meanings online and no one else said this but a lot of the song is talking about pig (sow, swine, etc). I think he indulged in some and instantly regretted it because of his Crohn's. Think about that while you read the lyrics, makes sense to me..
"I jumped ship to a burning sow" is him referring to a woman I'm pretty sure. Gotta remember his lyrics back then weren't female friendly. Saying she was a hot mess and then basically "had a ball, atom bomb" as in he had a good time then it blew up.
@kkasabian , I think so, too. Those two early albums had a lot of double meanings, and sometimes almost came off as one thing meant to slightly conceal another. In the first album for instance, there is definitely some vitriol directed toward a woman who was in his life. But I also think people get too hung up on that, and they miss a lot of commentary he is having with himself and about himself. I sorta of feel like some of it is intentionally ambiguous as to be misinterpreted. The more I listened to it the more I started to hear a young man grappling with who he thought he was and what he is. It's some pretty rough material in there expressed in a sometimes immature, but very raw way. And it hits a lot different than the typical angsty young dude stuff, because he's facing his mortality more than some bad relationship. But considering the way he introduced the song, it seems like your interpretation jives with it.
they dont need....they MUST come back to this line up :(!....the drummer now kills all the songs (even the new ones) plays the songs to slow and too jazzy...and the other guitar gives the full sound ...argggg!
Idk why but "denial is a river in egypt" is such a simple line but it always kills me in an otherwise emotional song. Fuck I love glassjaw
For me it was always the last line “he lost sight of his word.”
This might be their best song
Daryl tried to sign my Ticket with a Straw at the End freaking Classic
I was too late to the party when it comes to live GJ, and not due to age. Fuck, this is beautiful.
his voice is so beautiful
He said at the end it's his favorite song!

Had a ball. Killed a shark.
+Colton Hubbard i always wondered if he said "killed a shark, oh man" or "killed a sharper man"
You guys know there is Google lyric lookup right lol?
I've been watching this performance for years and have only now noticed that the band are all wearing the same outfit.

Lazy performance by Daryl. Not willing to reach the high pitches.
For someone who cancels shows all the time because of his Crohn's, I'm happy with what he is able to present.
BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH! Generic as hell and the singer can't stop saying BLAH BLAH BLAH!
you're seeking attention aren't you?....lol
Wow you taunt the words of the wise huh? How ignorant.
