    I know this is a year old but, I really appreciate the reality of learning a sing/new chords the UA-cam warps the reality of how hard it can be to learn new stuff. It doesn’t happen just because you watch it on a 20min video. It takes practice and muscle memory. Thanks for breaking it down and being respectful to reality to stopping and practicing different parts. Thanks so much for your videos

    Shane! I've been watching your videos for quite a while now, but I just realized what a great teacher you actually are! Your chord chanes are smooth, and fluid and your strumming seems effortless. Yet you constantly remind us to “stop the tape” and practice because that’s what it takes to achieve that. Thanks for sharing your expertise, but thanks especially for the constant encouragement!

    A real shame George was always overshadowed by Paul and John, just watched the new let it be doc and was obvious how hard it was for George to express himself. "Something" was our wedding song. So glad your channel is taking off, you deserve it. You have a way of simplifying even complex songs so people can play above their abilities. That's a true gift. Thanks

      George could have played. More. But during that time he was coked up. U could see if had something they would have let him play but he was zonked out. Couldn’t talk. Uncomfortable. Withdrawn. Paranoid. So they just played with out him. Paul. Was prepared. Had stuff ready. I like George’s music way more than Beatles. But when he coked out he felt they didn’t want to hear it but. In reality. They would have let do whatever he wanted. He he just played . George’s music has great feel great vibe .more musical. Paul s to me. Is Poppy . I wish George. Wasn’t. Wasted. And played more

    Shane, you are SO much fun and I love you don't constantly promote and promote. It's not a complaint against other guitarists online because this is such a competitive market to make a dollar and put food on the table, but it's refreshing. I'm battling the CAGED chords. That D-barre chord is tough. I am not giving up. G barre is not far behind.

    • @GuitarAtWork

    I just love mastering these new chords….Eb DIM 7 and such like would have scared me off in the past but not now , been reading up on the theory of this scary chords and once you understand how they are made up and why and where they are used they cease to become a problem.

I finally purchased a 814CE because your guitar always sounds the best on each video. In some videos, you use a beatbuddy. It be great if you could add the info under show more as to the Genre, Song, Tempo so we could follow more and add that to our home lessons. Keep up the great teachings.

      A big thank you and congrats on your amazing purchase! You cannot ever regret an 814CE....I have no affiliation with Taylor except for the fact that I've played nothing but Taylors for about 25 years now. Let's keep the Beatbuddy theme alive - I will add to description and I always mention settings in the video itself. Cheers! Shane

    Terrific lesson Shane! Georges lead guitar playing always elevated the Beatles to the next level of greatness in my opinion. Some of their best songs were written by him. How about a lesson on "Here Comes The Sun" or "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"? Anyway, Happy Holidays to you and your family! Be well and stay safe! 👍👍🎄🎄😉😉

    When I want to see if I can learn how to play a song, I search through your channel first, to see if you have a lesson on it... I heard this song earlier today and I thought, 'hmmm... That acoustic guitar part doesn't sound *that* complicated. I wonder if I can learn it. Let's see if Shane has a lesson for it."
    Ok, so it's definitely a lot more complicated than it first sounded... Obviously the Em to A and D to Bm are not too bad, once you get the Bm down... But after the key change, going from F#m to B Maj, and E to C#m -- ouch. That'll take some work. And all that diminished stuff during the verse-to-chorus transitions... Eeek. More stuff to work on...
    Anyway -- you made your usual great lesson video here. I'll add it to my list of stuff I want to learn. Thanks!

    Stupid newbie question coming up: is it usual not to change the name of the chord if you're using a capo? So when you're saying Eminor at the beginning, does the capo not make it Fsharp minor? Or is it just easier than remembering what all the chord shapes change to when you move them up?

    • @GuitarAtWork
      @GuitarAtWork  2 роки тому +1

      I love that question Richie - thank you. It is traditional amongst guitarists to call the chord whatever it might be WITHOUT the capo. When singers or piano players or bass players are around we should call the chords what they really are. That’s called ‘Concert Pitch’. Cheers, Shane

      @@GuitarAtWork Wow, that was a quick reply! I keep meaning to get a capo but keep forgetting, but I love this song so I thought I might get a little barre chord practice and just used a barre instead of the capo. I'm a finger picker starting to learn to strum and I think that the strumming sequence you teach here is different than most I see. Do you simplify sometimes or are there multiple correct ways to do most songs. Most patterns I see are E↓↓↓↑↑↓A↑↑↓↓↑↓↑E....repeat. You can tell I need a LOT of help strumming.
