Ugly Duckling (ARTE Upgrade)

I had uploaded a version of this cartoon back in 2021.
A major problem with that upload was that the film seemed to have been transferred at a too-slow frame rate (or something). Search it out and you'll see what I mean.
I tacked the Stuart Productions main and end cards onto this version to eliminate the faux Commonwealth titles that ARTE used.
So, there you go.

More mechanical horses! It just occurred to me that their prevalence might be to make the animals equal and not have one normally riding another.

Interestingly enough, Disney would take up the same story a few years later. Personally, I prefer this cartoon because here the chicks come to the duckling's defense, whereas in Disney's version, the chicks are selfish and completely insensitive to the duckling's fate.
Overall, the characters seem to be much more human in this cartoon.

Funny, but I always thought it was a family of ducks that ostracized a signet which then grew up to be a beautiful swan. Maybe I'm confusing Hans Christian Anderson with Aesop..? 🤷‍♂
