my mom told me that in the village near the where she grew up there is a huge bell that when its rang during massive storms the sound waves it created had the strength to push the clouds away, at another village people were scared because some of the clouds were pushed towards that village. I hardly believe it but one day I will see that huge bell.

Was the world's largest swinging bell from 1998 (its casting) until 2006. Gotenba City, Japan's swinging bell outweighs it. This bell is heavier than the Petersglocke (Peter Bell) in Cologne. It is interesting to note that the Kaisersglocke, also in Cologne, was heavier than the Petersglocke (but it was lost in 1918). This bell in Newport also outweighs that previous bell.

until Gotemba was outweighed by a different bell just recently. I dont know how to spell its name, but it weights 55 tons.

Sluch poškozují vysoké tóny, chřestění a řinčení vrchního slyšitelného spektra tónů. - To je to řinčení, co je slyšet při úderu tvrdého srdce do zvonu, ale o mnohem vyšší intenzitě. To řinčení tam nemá být slyšet. To je chyba zvonařské firmy, co srdce do zvonu vyráběla.
Jsem ruční zvoník velkých zvonů přímo u nich. Na začátku rozjíždím zvony bez vynechání úderů a na konci taktéž bez vynechání úderů srdcem. Je mi 69 let a slyším stále dobře!

I got a bell that said “world peace bell” and 01/01/00 on the back from antique mall. I thought it would be good for ceremonial offerings in the name of world peace and Jesus since I couldn’t find any ceremonial bells. I’ve been using it for a few years and didn’t think to look it up until now. Pretty neat.

Dies zeigt schon den Größenwahnsinn der Amerikaner. Der Klang dieser Glocke ist Geschmacksache. Allein schon das gekröpfte Joch schränkt die Klangqualität der Glocke gewaltig ein und der Ton dieser Glocke ist auch nicht gerade der schönste. Da lobe ich mir die drei größten freischwingenden Kirchenglocken der Welt in Bukarest von fast 26 Tonnen, die in Köln mit 24 Tonnen und Wien mit über 20 Tonnen. Der Klang dieser Glocken ist unbeschreiblich schön und zeigt die Meisterhaftigkeit der Glockengießer unserer Tage.

Most modern bells are harmonically tuned by skimming metal of different parts of the inside.
They usually are given a strike note an octave above and below plus a minor 3rd and perfect 5th.

this bell was casted by a french company which casted copies of replica liberty bells for each us states as the original liberty bell is in PA casted by Whitechapel bell foundry which also made the big ben bell for the clock tower. as i believe this french company casted the world peace bell for japan and most of the liberty bell replicas. most foundrys cast bells for churches and clock towers either one bell to strike the hour or 5 bells of different notes mostly playing the notes of the quarter hours of the westminster chime and one big bell to strike the hour. as the hammer to the side of this bell strikes the rim of this bell to chime the hour so this peace bell has 2 functions the hammer and swing using the clapper in the bell

Yes, you can hear that better because the St. Peter bell's sound is C°. That sound is the deepest sound wich a normal human can hear as a musick sound. The Peace bell's sound is A°°/A-1. (A°° =A-1) This bell has an incredible huge bass. It makes yust a noise for a human ear. :)
