this bell was casted by a french company which casted copies of replica liberty bells for each us states as the original liberty bell is in PA casted by Whitechapel bell foundry which also made the big ben bell for the clock tower. as i believe this french company casted the world peace bell for japan and most of the liberty bell replicas. most foundrys cast bells for churches and clock towers either one bell to strike the hour or 5 bells of different notes mostly playing the notes of the quarter hours of the westminster chime and one big bell to strike the hour. as the hammer to the side of this bell strikes the rim of this bell to chime the hour so this peace bell has 2 functions the hammer and swing using the clapper in the bell
