Outdoors RV 19MKS Titanium. Owners Review - The little trailer that packs a massive punch!

- This is a detailed review of the Outdoors RV 19MKS Titanium. This is a new floorplan, and a landmark design. So much of everything in such a compact footprint. This is my third Outdoors RV in the last 5 years, and so far I gotta say, this is my favorite by far.
I can go anywhere, and do anything with this home extension. Pack up and disappear. Off-grid, boondocking camping is a breeze.
My review says it all. It might be a long video, but if you are looking for something like this, or are interested in any Outdoors RV, you need to watch as I unveil some good, bad and everything in between.

Go buy a decent solar charge controller. 600 watts of solar divided by 12 volts = at least 50 amps. So you'll need a 50 amp or higher charge controller. A Victron will set you back around $300, but there are definitely less expensive options. I would actually spend the money and step up to a 100 amp controller in case you want to add a couple of extra panels and go to 1000 watts on the roof. You'll need some more battery capacity if you expand, as well. Honestly I would step it up into Lifepo4 batteries because you can use their entire charge capacity and cycle them for the next 20 years without issues. Great video.

QUESTION; I’ve been told that all of the solar hub that goes through the roof are all limited to 600 watts, and I know the wire on my Jayco charge controller is limited and/or the limiting factor? I’m asking because there’s a lot of opinions/facts floating out there. I’m trying to learn and figure it out. Can I run panels in series to get more volts but keep watts the same = more solar than go power says you can add or? Or, do I run two sets in series the connect those in parallel, and if so, is series more affected by shade? Thanks
You did a great job showing this RV! I love the RV plus the decor 😊!! I love everything about this one!
Thank you. Glad you like it. Please let me know if you have any questions. I love this RV!
I had a little buffalo check blanket that i put over the top of the murphy bed where the mattress and bedding showed. Made a huge difference!
Thanks. I’m going to order mine with the sofa/bed. Gotta have something for the grandkids.
Great video. I have been looking at this model for about three months. Probably going to place an order next month.
It's beautiful congratulations
Thanks for the video. This unit is on our top 3 list. My wife thanks the wall bed will be a hassle putting up and down every day. Have you found that to be the case? It seems to me it gives you more flexibility in a small space.
It's really easily actually. We don't really think about it. Actually, it makes making the bed easy. Get up in the morning, put the bed up and your done. Back down at night. In some cases we just leave the bed down, because we have a small table in front of the couch and don't always need the dinette, but putting it up and down is very easy. So far we have not found it to be an issue. I could see for some it could be though. Good question!!
Your new RV is immaculate and concept, layout and construction. Something for your family to be proud of for sure! I have a question though, it looks like mabye you do not use a weight distribution hitch? Do experience Road sway or porpoising without one?
For this size and weight of RV being pulled behind my heavy duty (Chevy 2500) truck, I don't use any sway or weight distribution hitch. I don't experience any sway or other issues even in very high cross wind situations. Tows like a dream!
If I was towing with a light duty truck like a Tundra, 1500 or F-150, then yes, I would definitely run a weight distribution hitch.
It's a new trailer. Why not take it back to Thompson and have them fix the bathroom door? It's my understanding that they don't hesitate to stand by their products
Awesome review & info , my wife & I are looking at Outdoors RV’s also . What’s the GVW & DRW of this model ? ? Thx again & safe travels wherever they may take you . 👍⚾️
Thank you.
The dry weight of the Titanium is 6150 lbs.
Max Cargo capacity is 2600 lbs. I believe max trailer weight is around 8300 lbs. Hitch weight 650 lbs.
Hope that helps, and hope you find the right rig!!
I looked it up... Roughly gvwr 8,250 dry 6,150 leaving approximately 2,100 for trailer cargo, not counting cargo that can potentially be hauled in the tow vehicle.
My apologies, I did not see the the owner had replied with the weights. That's my mistake.
bathroom counter space and kitchen space. yes. not having walls opens it up makes it look bigger
you almost lost me on the 5 minute drone of the same thing but glad I stayed for the rest thanks for the video!
Yeah, sorry about that. I need to do better next time. Thanks for the comment and for watching
Nice & Congratulations........ I had to have a wall wife gets up too early for me.... 24krs...
How much did it cost you?
Great video! Thank you for the walkthrough. You mentioned that you bring your generator in your truck. None of the videos we have reviewed shows where the port is for it. The Thompson RV video only shows where the solar plug is. Where are you plugging your generator in at? Thanks in advance.
I just plug the generator into the RV plug and cable. The connection is at the rear curbside (drivers side) of the RV. Hope that helps.
@@GOATbro_Australia Thats a sweet rig.. I don't think they are available down here in Alabama
Hello, just wondering if you are still enjoying your trailer now that you’ve had it for a while. I’m close to purchasing the same unit and curious now that you’ve used it, if you have any regrets or dislikes about anything. Trying to get as much real life info as possible before we actually bite the bullet and go for it. Thanks!
Deryk Campbell
No regrets at all. I really like this RV. There are plenty of people that might not like the bed/dinette arrangement, but it works for us. Nothing has broken or failed, and it has delivered on the goal of getting into smaller RV spots and off-grid, hard to reach spots. I found a great solution to give me better status of solar charging and panel status as well. I am going to produce an update video very soon to point out more lessons learned about this trailer. Won't be nearly as long, but I will highlight several key things I have learned that should help. Its a great little RV.
Thanks so much for the response! Glad to hear you are enjoying it, and hopefully for many years to come. Looking forward to your update video!😊
One more thing, how are them windows for airflow, in comparison to the regular sliders on the mountain series?
@@derykcampbell8508 I like them a lot better. For one, with traditional sliders I have always had problems with seals falling out of the frames. Also, these windows open and close way more reliably and smoother, and finally, yes the air flow is roughly the same. In this RV the fantastic fans in the roof also contribute to really great airflow. I will always go with frameless windows with any future RV purchase. Hope that helps.
Thanks again!
I would be happy with the room with no slide...less weight too..
Hello and thank you for this very detailed video. I have a question about the heater/airconditioner. Are they noisy?
The heater is not bad. Especially being in the very back, so when sleeping, it's not really a bother. AC is pretty typical of all RVs. It's not super quiet, but average as with other RVs.
Great video! Your very excited about your purchase and I too like this unit. You said you put a dirt bike on rear hitch. What is weight capacity of hitch and the weight of your bike? I would like to take a small bike along or scooter too.
@aaronrapp400 it's a 250 lb capacity on the hitch. My dirt bike is just under 200 lbs, plus the carrier, I am right at the 250 lb limit. Nice and stable, tows great. We are actually out camping right now! Thanks for watching.
I’m seriously thinking of placing an order for the 19MKS. What was your out the door price and how long did you wait before picking it up?
I don't really want to publish what I paid. I can say it was roughly $10k below MSRP. The options have a lot to do with the cost as well, and I had a pretty specific package for this, including the custome battery box from Thompson RV.
From the time I placed my order it took 3 months for the trailer to show up. That varies greatly depending on build schedules and inventory. Hope that helps!
@@GOATbro_Australia No problem. I understand. That was a great review video. I was waiting for a good owner review. 👍👍👍
Good review. Thanks. Tell me what the roof is made of.

You need warranty work done on that pocket door.
Would you recommend the 19MKS for full time RVing for me and wife? I’m also looking at the bigger upcoming 25DVS Backcountry Titanium Series. We’ve never RV’d before. HA!
That is a good question. I think for full time RV life, you would feel a bit cramped in the 19MKS. If that life included a lot of backcountry, off-grid camping in hard to get to places, you could make it work. If I was full time and mostly staying in RV parks, I would go with something bigger. Just make sure you have lots of storage, a good size bathroom and shower and plenty of kitchen counter space as key criteria. My 25RDS would have been ok for full time, and there are other really good options around that size RV. Hope that helps.
How do you like the 12 volt fridge
The 2025 model has the 12volt fridge. My 2024 is still the dometic gas/electric, and it works great. You need a lot of battery for the 12v fridges!
Thanks so much for a very helpful review...Do you find that the actual tongue weight is as advertised?
Yes, it is very close. That is based on a dry unloaded trailer. The tounge weight will vary based on the weight you add to the trailer with water and other cargo. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
Really nice RV. Any problem with leaking?
No leaking. All good. Thanks for watching.
I want one
I ordered my 2025 Titanium 19 MKS just like yours yesterday - quick question; Do you think I can carry my TW200 Yamaha (276 lbs.) on the back, like your bike, understand the technical limit is 250 lbs. Thoughts? Sturdy enough?
@flyingmulerider7166 well, I can't say I would do that, or recommend it. I would say that if you do, hopefully you have a HD truck and sway control. In my case. With my dirt bike, I am right around the 250 lbs limit, and it tows really good. That is just straight on the hitch with my 2500HD truck. No issues. I would be a little worried about going much over that limit for sure. Hope that helps.
Can you still fold the bed up to use the dinette with the slide in?
@constancepullen810 You can. Not a lot of room to get into slide side of dinette, but certainly can do it.. Just the two of us, so we sit on the non slide side. Very comfy.
@@GOATbro_Australia thank you
We are getting the exact same unit! Picking it up in Pendleton mid June. They are recommending an equalizer hitch, but I am reluctant to go there. We drive a 2019 RAM 3500 DRW diesel with trailer capacity of 35,100. I see you do not have a WD hitch. Any issues towing without it?
I see you already answered this 7 months ago. 👍
@@ldhybl No worries. I still really enjoy my trailer! Yeah, dealers will always recommend WD hitches. I can't say its a bad idea for the right towing situation, but towing this trailer with my 2500HD, without a WD hitch is not an issue. Its level and incredibly stable regardless of the speed, highway conditions or wind. Thanks again for watching!
I saw your 9 min video on using diesel for anything over 6000 lb. You saved me from a dumb mistake of trading for a 3/4 ton gas, 6’ 5” bed. This 8’ bed dually is like driving an aircraft carrier in town, but will stay the course on diesel if we do trade.
Love your videos and great advice!
Is it a four season rv? Like the lance for example!
Yes, it's a four seasons rated model. I believe all Outdoors RVs are. Thanks for watching!
Can you add a link to that 7 pin adapter?
Sure...
amzn.to/3OWTDNr
what did the unit as equipped cost you before taxes?
I won't go into exact details, and I don't actually remember without digging up all the paperwork, but I paid roughly $12k below MSRP. Keep in mind that was 12 months ago, and the MSRP can increase one or more times a year.
You don’t have a weight distribution system?
No. I have run them on larger trailers, but not a lot of benefit with this trailer and a heavy duty truck. Sits level and tows perfectly.
Thanks for the review, I really like this model . I was wondering can you get Thompson's RV to come down on their price or do you have to pay what they posted it for, the reason I'm asking is I looked at Sumner RV in Washington and they seem like they're a few thousand dollars cheaper even up to $5,000 on some models and they sell all the outdoors RVs and Northwoods, I was just wondering if you maybe looked there first before buying from Thompson's, thanks again for your honest review.
I shopped around. Thompsons also has some value add and just great service. I would run numbers with them and see what they can do.
@@GOATbro_Australia ok thanks for your quick reply, and Enjoy your new rv and travels . Stay safe
Interior the beige walls and dark cabinets..very dated...light & bright sells these days..everything else i like

We have a '22 260RLS Titanium Blackstone also.
r right
that is just the nature of a pocket door
i would block out license plates.
Why? They are visible to the public when out on the road
No generator
I have some good advice for you put a distribution hitch on that very dangerous not to have it we have a Outdoors Rv as well we love it. I also have a Gen Y hitch to my set up.
This is the floor plan I would have liked to have. I waited too long. Now I'm 50 years old and 3 years living with ALS. I'm am a perfect example of don't wait. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Great video. You always do such good overviews of each of the RVs ya'll have purchased. Agree 100% with the quality and Thompson's RV. They are top notch. Heck, we're driving from Texas due to their amazing reputation:-). Curious though - you mentioned the 25RDS being too big to get into places. We're going to do some off grid and National Parks, etc.... but we also have Grandkids that will likely come with us until they're grown. My point is, that it sounds like we're in a different phase than you guys and we're wanting a little more space for now. However I'm wondering, did the 25RDS keep you from getting into National Parks, State Parks or too long for the type of serious off grid ya'll do? Just wanting some more clarity around your statement. It will help us immensely make our decision.
Hey, thanks for the great note! Yes, the 31 ft length did limit me in both state and national parks. In some cases it was just a matter of the number of spaces a given park had for that length of trailer rather than not allowing it at all. It was something that could be worked around, but it was a limitation to be aware of. Also, for off grid, we tend to get into some pretty tight spots or into areas that were just risky with a larger trail. Again, its just about planning and knowing your limitations. The 25RDS was a great unit for sure. Hope that helps.
@@GOATbro_Australia It definitely helps. Thanks much!
awesome video.... can you tell me what truck you are towing with... 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, 1 ton, gas or diesel, etc... and average miles per gallon while towing
@MaineOutdoorsChannel sure, it's a 2022 Chevy 2500HD. Diesel. I typically tow around 8000 lbs and get just over 10mpg towing. I have owned a lot of trucks, and this one has been amazing. Thanks for watching, and hope that helps.
This is now my favorite model of ORV! Thompson's is the best dealer in the PNW as far as I'm concerned. I've purchased one RV from them. I saw it at an RV show Thursday up here in Spokane, WA
This was a great review, thanks for taking the time. We had already ordered this same unit but this just solidifies our purchase. Our first RV and pick it up April 12, Also had MYT solar do the lithium and inverter install. Very excited.
I love this camper. I live full time in a very old camper and this one is like a mansion to me!! Wonderful video and great job!!!
Congrats on this new TT; Great frameless windows and the door window is extra big in comparison to most TT’s. Not into large travel trailers. Own a 2022 Grand Design XLS 22 mle total 26ft long. Our friends wanted us to see your vid, they’re taking delivery on this same exact model. Absolutely a tough and well build TT… Back to size; try to enjoy the simplicity of a smaller camper. That natural skylight is awesome.
Oh that’s nice! Put the bikes inside and throw a quad in the back ;) They make a few nice gray quads! The KQ750 would fit with the tailgate closed. With such a high-end trailer the charge controller should be victron …..no question. Also, what is your thought about switching these fridges over to 12V? I’d rather sip the power off of the panels vs propane any day everyday.
That would be good. I have never had issues with propane on this RV, and it consumes very little, so for me it's not really worth the expense, but I can see the advantages. Maybe overnight without sun, 12V may put some strain on batteries, but I think they are super efficient!
Thats alot of weight, 5650 lbs dry weight for an off road? Thats a 1000 lbs heavier than most trailers this size. Nothing compares to a slide out on an Outdoors? Thats a Schwinntek slide out, standard equipment on 90% of trailers sold. Nice trailer though, and the price is decent.
The make their own frames, not Lippert so you don’t have to worry about frame flex or buckling. 👍🏽😎
@ericpiche2999 Northwoods ORV is built for the backcountry. Heavy frame to mitigate twist and bending when going off grid, thru potholes, etc. ORV puts up with abuse. Cabinets are screwed, not stapled. Front cap seams are on the side, no driving rain to seep thru causing leaks, water and grey tanks oversized. Roof ladder is strong, not wimpy. Walk on this roof without hesitation. Heavy duty Max fans are strong and excellent for moving air through the interior, even though the ac also works great. Onan generator built-in! Nobody wants a light weight TT if their rig can handle the weight. Smaller heavy TT much better than larger light weight TT that doesn’t hold value. These TT are always in demand, well worth the cost! Titanium version is the elite, but does add more weight. If you can’t do the weight, go lighter without the Titanium.
Northwood seems to have dropped Norcold too, at least that's the case with their truck camper line. They switched to a Furion DC compressor style fridge.
I was getting ready to order the 21 RBS until I saw this video. It is just my wife and I, so this will be perfect. Thanks
Awesome trailer!! Just bought our first Outdoors RV. Love the quality and thoughfulness. Not just a production RV. Everything with a purpose! Our 2023 has the same pocket door with that hardware. The latch comes off so we had to reconnect it when we got it home. It looks like those need to be adjusted to allow smoother movement. Also have the same basic thermostat. I will upgrade that to a digital ($60 online). It’s a travel trailer, not perfect. But the ODs RV are closest I have seen.
I could sell these all day long in the UK. For some reason european manufactuers do not entertain slides whatsoever. I know of one UK company who do. But they are a highend product & cost the same as a small house.
I struggle to embrace this decor. It just seems out of date. Just me though. The layout is awesome.
Thanks for the tour. Awesome camp trailer! Looks like quality …bathroom door, fridge trim issues. Would drive me crazy… always going to be something I guess
What is the extension for the 7 way/pin plug to make the cameras work called?
Good job on the review. That is my favorite floor plan ever!
Loved the review, wow love the floor plan. Just a couple of questions for you pertaining to the bed. when it folds up does the mattress bend? In the future do you think you could replace the mattress with a regular queen size mattress? if you do any future videos would like to see the sleeper sofa in the extended position if possible. thank you enjoy your trailer.
Yes, the mattress does fold near the front. I may consider replacing the mattress at some stage, but the standard mattress is very good, so it would be a while. It's a 60x80 inch mattress.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have more questions
Too much helicopter shot
Great RV Thanks for the detail
Wow i like that
Did it come standard with 600 watts?
No, I paid extra for the 600 watts of solar.
❤❤❤😊
is the TV a smart TV?
@@wardrobestaples no, but they are available from the dealers as an option.
hi handsome, where did you get that beautiful quilt set? I'm going to use your wisdom, experience and knowledge to help me decide what's best for me. my setup is just for 2 adults ,no kids in our mid 40s. I really like the fact that you have experience, wisdom and knowledge. thanks for being well spoken and posting this video my only concern is will this trailer handle the cold weather in the northern half of the usa?
The quilt set is straight off of good old Amazon. Link below. As for the cold weather question, yes, this trailer is a 4 seasons trailer designed to handle year round camping, including the cold northern winters. The insulation, heated water tanks, cold climate fridge, etc all contribute to that. Should be fine.
Here is that link. Enjoy and thank you:

How do you use the dinette with a bed in the middle of it?
Right. Right. Right. Right. Right . Right.
Great walk through. What about the under belly and who makes the frame of the trailer and how is it insulated. Aluminum framing ? AC ? I’m seriously looking at this model.
Sorry I did not cover the underbelly very well. It is completely sealed and insulated so there is not much to see underneath. Yes the sidewall construction is aluminum framing, I believe 2 inch thick walls. I am not sure on the details of the AC. With the Titanium package I believe it is a higher rated AC, but I just don't have those details. Outdoors RV custom designs and builds each frame specific for each model. This is one of their strong selling points. If you contact Outdoors RV directly with questions, they will get back to you pretty quickly and they can provide you with the information and details you are looking for. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.
Just curious as to what motorcycle and carrier you put on the rear hitch. Has to be over 250 lbs.
My YZ125 weighs just under 200lbs and my carrier right around 50, so pretty much right at the limit but it works
Looks like you have to step on the dinette seats to get out of bed 😮… not a good design
@@rossej56 I never do. I slide off the end of the bed. I don't find it a problem, but I can see some would.
Can I pull this with my 2013 Yukon Denali with a 6.2 liter?
Seems like you could. Just verify your tow ratings for the truck, and you will want a weight distribution hitch.
Thank you for sharing the great details about this trailer. How were you able to sell your 3 trailers in 5 years? I'm still trying to sell my 2019 21rd on RV Trader so I can buy me this model but having a hard time selling it.
I sold when the market was still pretty strong. Markets and economy seemed to have really slowed down. If it's priced right, it will eventually sell. Hope you sell it soon!
you asking too much. lol.
I thought All 24 came with 12 volt fridges
@@RonReno-k2d no, not all did. The 2025s look like they do.
How is the couch to fold down into a bed? Is it as easy as the main bed? Thanks
It's very easy. It is a Tri-fold bed and simply pulls up and out and sits on a pair of sturdy folding supports. It is very comfortable and roughly the size of a Full size mattress. It's a very nice option that provides flexibility.
Looks like you're towing with a 1/2 ton? If so, I'm curious how it does and if this model is REALLY 1/2 ton towable?
I am towing with a 2500HD Diesel.
At a dry weight of 6175, I would go with 3/4 ton minimum.
@@GOATbro_AustraliaRats, I was hoping this model might be possible with a 1/2 ton. Thank you for the info!

This video is awesome man, what a perfect couples RV, and I heard Outdoors RV is good quality. That being said did you get a RV inspector to go thru this before you bought it? I'm looking to get one of these and wanna make sure the quality and roof is going to last. Im in Michigan so Im going to have to make the long drive to get one. Thanks bud and safe travels.
No RV inspector. Thompsons does a really great job in prep, inspection and setup. Being my second purchase from them, I have yet to have any issues. But ya never know. RVs are what they are. Appreciate your feedback!
Thanks for the question- we were wondering also. We are from Michigan ourselves trying to figure out where to buy. Are you thinking of traveling all of the way to Oregon?
I think there are dealers that sell them in Virginia also. After the first of the year ill be checking into this more. Id like to set foot inside one before making that long drive tho. Maybe I can find a used one closer to walk through. @@carolanthony3817
@@carolanthony3817 Carol they sell them in Pennsylvania as well. I called the dealership and the interest rate is at 8.99%. I have an A+ credit score and just refuse to pay that rate. Thats insane. I'll wait until spring and re-think this decision, see if rates decrease.

Picked my 19MKS-T about 2 months ago. Came from a Lance. Absolutely love this floor plan. It's the biggest little trailer I've ever owned.
Nice!
What is your opinion in build quality, room and storage between the 2 brands? Thanks in advance
@@fit4ya1975 Well, the 2018-2021 Lances are much better than today's Lances. The ORV is much more robust. The quality of the materials is about the same. Both are great, but the ORV is much heavier-duty. And have better insulation values. Downsized from a 2295 Lance to a 19MKS & the ORV is 3' shorter but much more roomy. Taller ceiling. The Lance had a bit better storage.
