JHud SANG THAT SONG AND YOU BETTER KNOW IT!!! Her voice is so powerful and unique she will sang any song!!! I L💕💕E to hear her sang!!! She is one AMAZING woman,So grateful 🙏🏼 God has Blessed us with JHud, Blessing to her ALWAYS!!!
Wow! I subbed as Lena Horne's soundperson in her '81 B'way show - this was her finale song. Lena kicked the c**p out of it; but, J-Hud takes it to an other musical world entirely. Unbelievable❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ 2:54 !❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love Jennifer, but she needs better arrangers. She has the voice to have people running through the aisles. Granted, it worth a standing ovation, but she could have gotten more. I'm semi professional, so I pick up on things others might miss. For example, listen to Lena Horne - Lena doesn't have half the voice as Jennifer, but her rendition in the Wiz is killer. The "belief in yourself" lines shouldn't really be sung in a legato fashion. They should be sung as if they are taking every last bit of breath out of your body. THAT's the drama you can bring to the song, and people would have been jumping out of the seats going ...SANG, Jennifer!!! And I would have changed her run at the end, to hook her up real good. FYI: Deborah Cox just sung this on the Tamaron Hall show - watch it - it is, to date, the greatest rendition of the song. Deborah has the register to sing the song and the chops. Overall, excellent rendition, but I would have love to see Fantasia, Le'Andria Johnson (fa show), Kelly Price - sing this. I get it: Jennifer is the it girl. But the others really know how to milk songs for all their worth. Just sayin'. But Jennifer did her thang.
She couldn’t have gotten closer to Quincy Jones’ vision with this band. The man in the piano is Greg Philiganes. Greg had played keyboards for Quincy for close to 50 years. I hear Lena Horne’s version and Deborah Cox’s version. This version made me Believe. Notice even Greg gave her a standing ovation at the end. Quincy would have done the same if he wasn’t 90.
@@CeliniacForLife fantasia is ok but they don’t understand subtle. Mariah and Whitney sing loudly on an occasion but it’s their soft tone that is excellent
Overwrought, show-off performance without one iota of authentic true feeling, completely ignoring the poignant and uplifting lyrics of the song, which she should have interpreted into her performance. What a lost opportunity.
Oversung, as usual. I really wish that she'd sung the reprise arrangement that Mr. Jones actually composed and produced for the film, instead of using the Broadway version.
Geesh, she reminds me so much of The Queen, Aretha. She's incredible. Sang booo❤❤❤❤❤
As usual she never disappoints

Anybody else think that Hudson would be a great Glinda for a potential Broadway revival of The Wiz?
Most definitely
Nah but Glinda is only on stage for like 10 mins total so wouldn’t hate it
Hollywood, y'all better stand!!

Girl can yodel
❤❤🥹👏🏾
I could never get with her voice. It’s just screaming
But you like Fantasia, right?
@@CeliniacForLife fantasia is ok but they don’t understand subtle. Mariah and Whitney sing loudly on an occasion but it’s their soft tone that is excellent

She ruined the prettiest line. Sing it the way it was written because that’s why it was a hit.
