This is one of the most underrated bands ever. Secular and Christian. The fact that we have THIS good of music and it's giving thanks to Him fills me with so much joy. The music arrangements, the mixing, lyrics.... It's all done so flawlessly.
Totally agree! been listening to them for several years. I took my daughter to see them in concert. I never get tired of listening to them, like every day! :)
"But you freed me, so I could just be. Nothing to prove, oh nothing to lose." Story of my life, man! Truly the best news when you realize you are free from the treadmill of performance and finally grasp that our approval doesn't change with the Father. When you really grasp this at a heart level, you will only "just be." :)
Derek Myers love the concept of "be". I wrote about it a few months ago during a worship night and loved that I can just be in God's presence, be in his love, be still before him, be his. To be is simple, it's like saying "just cause"- but not in a boring justifiable way. Be.
Dust to earth and ash to ocean Evanescent, fading fast You are all I really have I’m not home till heaven opens Life’s a vapor while it lasts You are all I really have Living for experiences I romanticize thrill Maximize my achievements But I'm not satisfied still I’m realizing, that all my striving Is chasing wind, is chasing wind But you free’d me, So I can just be Nothing to prove, Nothing to lose The vapor of humanity A tapestry of vanity The cycle of depravity A carousel of fantasy Don’t let me fall apart Be near my wandering heart Hold me closely through this race Help me embrace your pacing
I am sure its not just me, but Kings K are the only band that produces music (not taking into consideration the lyrics) that makes me want to just praise God - the lyrics are of-course a very big bonus!! Fantastic album - repeat repeat repeat.
This is the freshest offering to the Christian music scene I have heard all year. What a sensational sonic treat for the ears. This contiguous song transforms the spirit. #NEWFAN #Wow , thanks for the music #KingsKaleidoscope #Yessss
I seriously agree with you. hahahaha. I just discovered this band just yesterday and I am floored. God is so incredibly good. I am 50 in 3 days and it has been a long long time since I have been so moved by a band.
I've been a christian for years, I'm only 20 but I just find it so odd the kinds of bands secular and christian that I listen to, I think my current favorites, in no particular order would have to be, Kings K, KGLW, Tally Hall(including side projects), Igorrr, Cap Kings, FF5, and Theocracy, only thought to say this here, because the guitar has been making me think of alot of KGLW's jazzier/groovier stuff, I just love my musical taste, and I love that Adam Neely's series about learning to apreciate the "music that you hate" let me discover Kings K, I would have been hapy discovering these guys in any way, I just think it's really cool that I found out about one of my favorite Christian bands, thanks entirely to a youtube music theory channel.
This song is so lit, but I sooo wish they would have rebalanced the background choir louder! That is the best part of the song and I can't get it loud enough!!

That’s why Kings Kaleidoscope is my favorite band

Derek Myers I literary was going to comment on this God Is Good
Dust to earth and ash to ocean
Evanescent, fading fast
You are all I really have
I’m not home till heaven opens
Life’s a vapor while it lasts
You are all I really have
Living for experiences
I romanticize thrill
Maximize my achievements
But I'm not satisfied still
I’m realizing, that all my striving
Is chasing wind, is chasing wind
But you free’d me, So I can just be
Nothing to prove, Nothing to lose
The vapor of humanity
A tapestry of vanity
The cycle of depravity
A carousel of fantasy
Don’t let me fall apart
Be near my wandering heart
Hold me closely through this race
Help me embrace your pacing
Thank you!
Happy
Thanks!
