  • I can't claim that this is a design fault because I have only ever used this grinder which I have had for over 20 yrs and have only used it a few times. My experience is one person's limited experience and should not be taken as criticism or instruction. This video is not a review. It was about grinding wheat with my grinder. I WOULD like it to be a warning to people though, to be vigilant and do your own research before buying and using a grinder. In any case, keep a magnet in your kitchen for just in case...
As Blue Garden Cottage evolves over time and we move forward on our self-reliance journey, our suburban council house homestead evolves too. In these early days of transition learning to manage two UA-cam channels and getting used to being self-employed, I might be uploading garden and home videos less often than before but I can promise you that the homesteading continues as does my aim to turn home into my dream cottage too.
So keep popping in and please do continue to like and comment. Subscribe if you haven't already. I love to hear your questions and do all I can to answer them. It also helps me to plan videos better so they are more of what YOU might want to see.

I've got a lovely old meat grinder but it doesnt fit on the edge of my counter. I wonder whether it would grind wheat?🤔 As it made a hole anyway cant you just use that hole to anchor it on subsequent uses?

Oooh, I don’t know about the meat grinder. You can only try. Not sure it works the same but who knows….might just be perfect. Let me know if it does. 😁
I’m afraid that with the metal grinding into the flour, it’s not safe to keep using it. I’ll save for a different one.
I so appreciate you even watching the videos. I’m even more grateful for your contributions. Thank you.🤗🌸🌹💐🌷

@@BlueGardenCottage I suspect your mill has been spray painted as it looks suspiciously shiny and unrusted. I will let you know how my grinding goes.

@@pheart2381 I wouldn't be surprised but it has been in storage out of dust for a long time. I would just rather save up fora stone one to be on the safe side. 🙂That is, if we can still buy wheat berries/grains by then. Then I will have to use it for home grown pseudo grains. One way or another, I'll find a way to use it.🤣

Had a go with wheat through my 1930s meat grinder. It didnt work at all. There are loads of flour grinders on ebay, but they all look pretty flimsy and gimmicky.

Thanks for the update. Sorry it didn't work. Would have been handy. Yes, I have seen a few that don't look so good. I also saw some videos of electric ones being used which look just fine but I don't particularly want electric. Though once I can afford the stone grinder and use it, maybe I'll change my mind.
