    Really jealous of your games room. Darts, pool table and the bike at the back. Sweet set up

      I’m very fortunate to have it! My stepdad built the room and decked it out with all the kit. Was a bit of change having to play darts in my university bedroom after!

    The secret in throwing a dart straight is in the flipflops.

    Great tips. The one foot balance thing has improved my game so much. Top man 👍

    Thanks for the video mate, as soon as I took my back foot out of the mix I realized I was using it to push off and moving my body all over. My throws instantly became more consistent once I began centering my weight on my front foot.

    Good stuff. I'm surprises there's not more people getting this in-depth with the technique, mechanics.

    Cheers for the video it's really helpful. I have tried to change everything in my throw, and nothing has really helped. I'd never thought about balance/stance until now. It's really helping thanks

    I thought this was nonsense but tried anyway. Immediately went from 35 average to 60. Obviously still not great, but a huge improvement.
    Thank you.

    I play in a cricket club and many of them are naturally decent at throwing straight, once they get their grip right, as they are used to bowling in a straight line over a longer distance

    Typically having an around 60 average (which is pretty good considering I started some years ago throwing under 30), but being pretty ambitious about darts I just want to know where my progess ends, maybe at 70, maybe I even reach 80 some day.
    I will try this trick, as even though I am a relatively respectable player I still struggle with my throwing and standing technique. Maybe that helps, thanks for the suggestion anyway!

    100% my downfall. I don't drink alcohol, so I can't use that excuse xD
    Appreciate the reminder. I always notice when I'm firm in my stance (balanced) I throw the dart much more consistently to my target destination.
    Your attitude alone is how people should approach darts, new or old.

    I'm not knocking you but I can tell you after years of doing that stance it played havoc with the knee of my lead leg. I had to resort to a balanced stance.

    I throw from left side of oche so my darts end up sticking strsight in board, standing middle to right of oche, my darts then stick in board with shaft and flights lying to the right, ie in the board at an angle not 90° outward, not sure if this will make sense. Any help to correct this. Is it grip or technique of throw to fault.?

    But how do you make your darts land parallel to the ground mine are always landing on the angle thx

    • @toosweetdarts6584
      @toosweetdarts6584  Рік тому

      I’ve had similar experiences, a couple things that helped me were:
      1) Drawing the dart back as less of a loop and more of a straight line back
      2) Could be that you’re releasing the dart very early. We want to release the dart anywhere between a 75-90 degree angle

      As the dart flies it swings up and down like a pendulum (just watch a slomo of a dart throw e.g. on the Darts Review Channel) and changing the length of the shaft or shape of the flights affects that. With a bit of experimentation you can set up the dart so that it hits the board as it's travelling parallel to the ground.

    When i started throwing darts i just hold my dart like a pen, but now i figured out that u should grip the darts with an lock-wrist, but when i try to implement the lock wrist my darts fly everywhere... should i keep my old grip, or try to get used to the new grip with an lock wrist??

    • @toosweetdarts6584
      @toosweetdarts6584  8 місяців тому

      I used to advocate a locked wrist however, I would now say throw however is comfortable and keeps your body relaxed

    I've been throwing dart a while now and this year is the first year I've been taking it proper serious and I'm doing good. But one problem I've always had since I started throwing is every now and then a dart will go up over the 20 outside the board. To this day I still dont undersyand why it happens, I dont feel like I'm gripping the dart any differently or with any more power but yet the odd dart flys up over the 20... have you ever heard of this before or experienced it yourself? Thanks 👍

    • @toosweetdarts6584
      @toosweetdarts6584  10 місяців тому +1

      Definitely experienced it, for me it was a release point issue. I like an early release but too early and I would just launch the dart over the board. It also happens for me if I push the dart off my thumb in my grip, happens if I start throwing a bit lazy or fatigued

    Van den Berg stay both feet on the ground...dosnt matter how you stand, just dont move, but the secret is not only on stand, your hand, grip, eblow need to work perfectly so this videobis useless...
