Hey! I love chicken tikka masala too! Whenever Sukhi's chicken tikka masala is on sale for $5 at Safeway or Raley's, I stock up with the maximum allowance (4). I heat it on the stove with one jar of Minute brown rice and some veggies (fresh cauliflower if have it and I have enough time to cut and pre-boil it; but usually just frozen peas and/or carrot cubes). Yummy! Perfect Connections! One mistake for me. I wasn't sure what PARLAY means exactly but I somehow associated it with KEEP. Great Tuesday Mini! My time was in 2:48. A cross between French and Spanish words is never easy. Obligatory Scrabble anecdote: The poet William Blake's intentional misspelling TYGER has been played as a successful phony at a Scrabble tournament. That's what I call fearful symmetry. Excellent Strands! A perfect solve for me, without any unnecessary mouse clicks. Not super quick though: it took me a while to figure out how to spell LEPRECHAUN without isolating any letters.
Under is a betting about the final score. Say you're betting on a football game and they determine the teams will score around 38.5 points combined. You can bet Over, or Under. Say you bet Under, final score is 20-14, which adds up to 34. You win! :)
Yep. Along the same lines as the poetic "e'er" instead of "ever." If you don't visualise the apostrophe, then the pronunciations really don't match the spellings. 😅
Welcome back! Connections: we had identical games, Perfect 💛💚💜💙, blue just happened for me. Interestingly, the solve rate with 1 million games in is now at 82%, so maybe Americans and Western Europeans are more familiar with the gambling terms lol. Our solve is still 1 in 10 though. Mini: 0:36, Strands: I needed a couple of hints, not my category. I enjoyed the Gremlins dialogue 😂
A spread is a handicap given to the favorite team to encourage people to bet on the underdog. Say the Chiefs are 10-point favorites over the Eagles. If I bet on the Chiefs, they have to win the game by more than 10 points for me to win the bet. If the Chiefs win by less than 10, then people who bet on the Eagles win their bets, and the Eagles are said to have "beaten the spread."
Funny how you said leprechaun immediately after fairy, but you got it last. And then said I have no idea what’s going on lol But who cares, cause the gremlins daylight savings is the real puzzle, we gotta figure that out
I lucked into Connections (Green Yellow Blue Purple, uses three mistakes disentangling blue and purple before narrowing it down to a one in 8 which I hit - Appropriate for what blue was, heh). Under in terms of betting is more likely to be refering to an over/under bet, where bookies will set what they're expecting to happen and then betters bet on if they think it will be over or under that amount - Often something like sum points or how many points the winning side will get - I think there's also a fairly common over/under on how long will the national anthem last in the superbowl? A spread bet, meanwhile, is specifically 'will the favourite win by more or less than the point spread' - So betting on the Fairies to beat the Hobgoblins by 9 or more for example (or, conversely, for the Fairies to fail to beat the Hobgoblins by 9 or more) Parlay as a betting term isn't something I was familiar with, so even if I'd thought of the gambling term connection blue would still have been a struggle - Though I might have gotten it by the fact that a word for conversing with your enemy is maybe more likely to be a betting term than any of purple. I'm not sure I've ever encountered chicken fingers as a thing, though in theory I could have gotten butter, lady, and sticky and then... Well I might not have been able to get it in one - spread fingers is a term that I'm vaguely familiar with.
What I’ve always wondered with the after midnight rule is when does it reset? Any time in the morning is after midnight! Is it by sunrise? Does latitude and season matter in that case?
Perfect on Connections although Blue & Purple took a while. I figured out Blue instead of Purple because I didn't know Lady Fingers. I got 26 seconds on the mini which might be my best time ever.
Connections was very easy today, making up for the fact that it was a bust yesterday 😅😅 also, I just wonder how gremlins even know that it’s midnight… can they read clocks?! 😂
I managed to speed run the mini crossword, my fastest solve ever at 23 seconds, getting all the acrosses. Which sort of upset me because I really wanted to read 1 down and get it (had my name on it).

The Parley you were thinking of is spelled with an e not an a, from the French Parler which means to talk but is pronounced in the same way.
Until I looked it up today, I thought they were spelled the same. Also, my dictionary and six UA-cam videos say parley is actually pronounced par-lee.

I thought that was a very high scoring game for a moment until I remembered that for many people "football" is a different sport to "soccer".
Ne’er is never without the v.

You just _had_ to use that example, did you?

Probably best to just not feed them at night at all 😂
@@Rangsk Mogwai shouldn't be fed after midnight.
Gremlins are just homicidal, so feeding isn't a big concern.

It’s the Rangsk move to say the answer aloud and then go another direction entirely 😜
I got purple but with the wrong title i was thinking it was kinds of rice😬😬
I mean that kind of fits. Never heard of Lady Rice though.

The novelization says that Mogwai were created by alien scientists, so it just gets more confusing.
This is important information! We need to know! Honestly best not to feed them at all at this point.

I also mixed up parlay and parley for this puzzle. I’m not sure I’ve ever really noticed those are different words.
I thought what you thought for the meaning of parlay, but Google informs me that it's spelt parley. Never heard of the gambling term. 😊
From the description a parlay bet is what I'd (England) call an "acca", short for "accumulator".
“I hope I know what the last word is” *giggles*
Also, what does Impish means?? My (french) google can’t seem to find a good answer
Trickster. Puck from A Midsummer Night's Dream

More purchasing power.

French + Spanish = nope
My Spanish teacher was from Paris France, she literally grew up in Franch. So I learned Spanish with a French accent. That was hard. lol
