Christy, looking at your previous videos that are dealing with your recovery, I can see that you have come a long way. There's a quote that says, "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it." You have proven this. Look how far you've come, young lady! You should be proud of yourself. ❤️ I also wanted to mention that I enjoy your sense of humor. You "crack me up!"

4:25 totally agree... especially after my aunt had a motorcycle wreck without a helmet on and she lost half of her brain (literally) and was changed forever. She luckily lived but she was never the same again. She would have emotional outbursts (both of anger and sadness, which i dont blame her honestly), her left eye was stuck closed, she was in constant pain, her memory was horrible etc. She luckily lived for another 10 years after that but still.

@@littletraumamama yes it really was. What was worse is she was in Missouri while we were in Tennessee at the time... so my sick grandma with cancer had to take that long car ride to get to her because they didn't thinj she would live. I luckily was a little too young to REALLY get what was going on but after a couple years I understood it more. And sadly she passed away a couple years ago in 2020 because of her a*usive boyfriend... there are articles about it that will come up if you search "white settlement tx woman found d*ad" (or found m*rdered one or the other I can't really remember cuz I try not to read it or run into it)

Thank you so much Christy! I have watched all of your videos and get so much out of each of them. I want to Thank you for mentioning the helmet law here in Florida. As a sister and aunt who buried my 19 y/o niece from a DAI and my 21 y/o brother from a TBI, MY HEART IS OVERJOYED WITH YOUR SURVIVAL AND GRIT TO THRIVE!
I am a 3rd shift pediatric psych nurse. I have listened to your podcasts during my drive home, and I now sit in my car listening to this last podcast. When I pulled up, I burst out in tears.
My brother lived 20 hours and my niece, approx 2 months. I find peace in believing that neither were in pain during their accidents.
Sweet lady, there is NO OTHER REASON FOR YOU TO BE ALIVE OTHER THAN DIVINE INTERVENTION.
Survivors of these injuries are automatically in a sisterhood/brotherhood. Similarly, we loved ones who watch these type of injuries, are in a club with others that we wish no one else has to join.
I can't reiterate enough to you what this podcast has done for my soul this AM.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING AND BLESSING MY HEART. I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

Thank you so much for sharing your incredible journey from accident and through recovery to where you are now Christy!
I understand what you share about gratitude. Myself I battle a deteriorating and painful neurologic illness, ME.
I wish I never had it of course, but I am grateful for the lessons learnt! And one of those is to enjoy the moment and do the best with what I have. And most important is my family, hubby and 2 daughters! ❤
Every person has their own journey, experiences and beliefs etc.
I definitely agree with you about helmets!! It is not about law, police etc. It’s a very important life saver!
I used to work as an RN in Neuro ICU many years ago!
Here we also see terrible head traumas from 🚴 bike wrecks, helmets are asked for, but not by law. Many people don’t care until they hear how a death could have been prevented by using a helmet on common bikes, not only motor bikes.

Hi Kristi, I just found your channel by accident. First of all I want to say how happy I am that you survive this horrible accident and that you are thriving. I’m also glad that your dad was with you to save your life because if he had not been there, he would not have made it through. I am a young 66-year-old female and know many friends that have bikes. I don’t envy them. I worry about them. I know it will be a great feeling to cruise in the woods on a bike and I thought about it but I’ve never wanted to take that risk. my question is and maybe I’ll find out after reading all the comments is are you still riding a motorcycle? What would you to say someone who wants to become a rider ?
I’m going to watch the rest of your videos. You’re a wonderful speaker with a soothing voice. Thank you for posting this and helping others who have been through similar experiences. Hope you continue to thrive & Enjoy your life.

That’s unducking believable!!! 🦆 I think that’s less than a manager at Taco Bell! (Not that I didn’t believe you, but I just Googled that & it’s TRUE?!?!?). The commoditization of our healthcare just keeps getting worse and worse. The rich keep on getting richer while nobody is taking care of who is taking care of US!

Aww Bailey! You could learn a lot from the GOAT, Mister!! Haha! Love your openness and honesty and vulnerability, Christy. I am so glad you made it through all of that horror to share your stories with others. It means more than you know. I especially appreciate that you won't advocate for "anti-bike" statements. I am also a survivor of a motorcycle accident, albeit, far much less severe as yours, and i still have friends that drive and ride .. However, I do not. I believe people should be able to do as they wish but as with cars, boats or planes, please everyone - BE SAFE, TAKE PRECAUTIONS AND BE ON THE WATCH FOR OTHER DRIVERS BECAUSE THEY MAY NOT BE LOOKING FOR YOU!! 💖💖💖

Why is it that the people who actually save lives and risk their lives get crap pay?
(Here in Colorado they all do, sadly)
I'm teying to think of ways to get them all money......but all healthcare workers are chained to the Hypocratic Oath.....well.....IMO
The Hypocratic Oathe desperately NEEDS updated.
Needs to include patients to NOT harm or violate healthcare workers as well.....sadly the homeless peeps uae amd abuse the system BIG time jere in Colorado....yes, I understand they have their own health problems......mainly mental illness as well..... I'd love to help anyway I can but ALL First Responders deserve a GIANT pay raise!
