You're the only reactor I've seen who has caught the fact that Misa goes sans footware when playing concerts. Well, they don't call her The Barefoot Assassin for nothing! 😃 No US tour dates... yet. 5-string basses are typically tuned B-E-A-D-G (with B being the lowest string). 4-string basses are typically tuned E-A-D-G. In this song, and many others, MISA tunes down a half-step to Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb.
all 5 of these ladies are top tier at their instruments, probably why they been together for 10+ years with the same line up, no member can come with that rock star ego crap about 1 person carrying the band, after 10 years they have become best friends, almost sisters, as a group they are beyond tight, they can read each other like a book, in my humble opinion they are one of the best touring ROCK bands in the business
Misa, the bassist, is lovingly known as "the barefoot assassin." She goes barefoot to feel the vibrations of the drums through the soles of her feet to keep her rhythm with them on point.
Yes, Misa first stopped wearing high heels because her feet hurt. The reason she continues not to wear shoes after that is because she can feel the vibrations of the drums on the soles of her feet, regardless of the sound.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!
'92 I was a medical drop out of the Q Course and ended back in my old MOS Chaplain Assistant for 7th SOSC (A) supporting 1/10th SF Group (A) just outside of Stuttgart. Sure do miss getting paid to jump out of perfectly good helicopters and airplanes. I have seen Band-Maid live, in the USA, 3 times now. Best live show I have ever seen. These ladies kick some serious ass. Misa, bass player, is known as "The Barefoot Assassin". They all have their own unique personalities and all bring something to the table. Good to see a snake eater checking out my favorite band.
Band-Maid toured the US in 2022 and 2023. I saw them in Detroit and Columbus last May. They've been together ten years, same members. Misa, their base player was a college buddy of Akane Hirose, their drummer. Misa is nicknamed "The Barefoot Assassin" because her all black outfit makes her look more like a Ninja than a maid and she prefers to play bass barefoot so she better feels Akane's drums through her feet. Akane may be the most noticeable musician in Band-Maid, her drums are always in the pocket and her fills are always spot on. Jimmy Page saw her once and had to go back stage to congratulate her. But then, every member of Band-Maid has a deep skill stack and they all put in the work.

The Maids are one of the best bands out there with a catalog of well over 100 songs. Another great band is The Warning out of Mexico. Check out their song Dust to Dust (they have a great drummer as well) If you check out Kids Rock for Kids and their cover of Hysteria by Muse you’ll get a glimpse of Yoyoka who is considered one of the top drummers in the world.

all 5 of these ladies are top tier at their instruments, probably why they been together for 10+ years with the same line up, no member can come with that rock star ego crap about 1 person carrying the band, after 10 years they have become best friends, almost sisters, as a group they are beyond tight, they can read each other like a book, in my humble opinion they are one of the best touring ROCK bands in the business
Misa, the bassist, is lovingly known as "the barefoot assassin." She goes barefoot to feel the vibrations of the drums through the soles of her feet to keep her rhythm with them on point.
No in the MISA documentary she said that heels hurt her feet and she couldn`t find any comfortable shoes , so she went barefoot .
Yes, Misa first stopped wearing high heels because her feet hurt. The reason she continues not to wear shoes after that is because she can feel the vibrations of the drums on the soles of her feet, regardless of the sound.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up.
Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. '92 I was a medical drop out of the Q Course and ended back in my old MOS Chaplain Assistant for 7th SOSC (A) supporting 1/10th SF Group (A) just outside of Stuttgart. Sure do miss getting paid to jump out of perfectly good helicopters and airplanes. I have seen Band-Maid live, in the USA, 3 times now. Best live show I have ever seen. These ladies kick some serious ass. Misa, bass player, is known as "The Barefoot Assassin". They all have their own unique personalities and all bring something to the table. Band-Maid toured the US in 2022 and 2023. I saw them in Detroit and Columbus last May. They've been together ten years, same members. Misa, their base player was a college buddy of Akane Hirose, their drummer. Misa is nicknamed "The Barefoot Assassin" because her all black outfit makes her look more like a Ninja than a maid and she prefers to play bass barefoot so she better feels Akane's drums through her feet. Akane may be the most noticeable musician in Band-Maid, her drums are always in the pocket and her fills are always spot on. Jimmy Page saw her once and had to go back stage to congratulate her. But then, every member of Band-Maid has a deep skill stack and they all put in the work.

The Maids are one of the best bands out there with a catalog of well over 100 songs. Another great band is The Warning out of Mexico. BTW...the Maids call their fans Masters and Princesses. They live performances are called Okyu-ji's ("servings"). One of their MC's has Omajinai Time (Magic Spell Time), lead by Miku. Miku (2nd lead vocal, backing vocals, rhythm guitar, main lyricist, head spokes pigeon, and founder of the band) used to work in a Maid cafe to earn money to pursue her dreams. All part of the Japan Maid Cafe theme the band was created with.
The Maids toured the states in 2022 & 23. So far, there hasn't been any word about a 24 tour outside of Japan.
