Yeltsin was the man responsible for getting Putin set up in power. Inside Russia it is known, at least by some military higher ups and political figures, that the West had basically "neutered" Yeltsin after his failed attempts to bring Russia into the European group of nations. It is said, that in a meeting between Yeltsin and Putin in St. Petersburg where Yeltsin was introducing Putin to many political people as he was backing Putin as his successor, that Yeltsin told Putin that he had tried to help Russia integrate with the rest of europe and the u.s., but he was rejected at every turn and now the u.s. is trying to have it's large corporations and wealthy individuals buy up Russia and tear it up into small pieces for their greed. He said he could no longer do much for Russia as he is seen as a powerless puppet of the West. He supposedly told Putin that Russia needed a strong leader to defend the Motherland and all it's people, try to advocate for peace, but never surrender Russia and it's people.
And Putin did succeed, with a term by Medvedev, and then Putin's return. There are many incorrect beliefs about Russia. Russia is an authoritarian state, yet no one gives verifiable proof, just allegations from people who could well have been paid by the the u.s. government to say anything they want. Did you know that newspapers, even State owned ones will print articles by presidential candidates stating that Putin is taking the country down a bad path of ruin for Russia, and yet they are not imprisoned or assassinated as the West would you believe? Did you know that not every bit of legislation Putin brings to the Duma gets passed? Putin is not a dictator, nor is he an authoritarian leader. He doesn't even direct the war in ukraine, he leaves that to his generals, who do of course inform him and consult with him on matters that may bridge into the political realm. Yes, Russia has a centralized government, which I'm told many Russians have believed is right for them because of the huge size of their country. Personally, I believe more money should be spent in outlying cities and villages, but having to deal with constant sanctions under the West's plan to destroy Russia (see Rand report 2019) and take control of it's natural resources and of it's political governance. So, though there is hard evidence of the u.s. involvement in election interference via vote rigging, highjacking of media sources, funding and equipping terrorists groups to intimidate voters, assassinations, etc. all of which the proof has always come to light sooner or later of the horrible actions of the u.s. and some it's large and wealthy donor contributors such as musk, bezos, gates, microsoft, facebook, X, and on and on. Anytime you see the name "National Endowment for Democracy" an u.s. State Dept. run NGO which is the funding vehicle the u.s. government uses to channel money to various other groups, including ISIS cells, in order to keep and step or more between the u.s. and other donors and these horrible groups they find to do their dirty work.
Yes, I abhor the anti-LGBTQ+ laws in Russia, as well as China. There is zero justification for these, and even less in China, which is not much of a religious country and therefore can't rely on religion for their anti-LGBTQ+ bigotry and hate. Russia falls back on religion, which in my book is no better excuse than anything China comes up with. And the one thing that bothers me about people that point out all these great things about Russia and China, is no one talks about how the LGBTQ+ community has to live in these countries! WTF guys, these folks have to live their entire lives in a closet!!! Would you like that? Or are you not LGBTQ+ and therefore just don't give a damn about how these people are treated? Are you that damn cold and hateful? I've brought the subject up to local politicians where we have property and where my wife grew up because I thought it was important and yes, technically I could have been fine for it, but these men understood my passion and my brother was gay, until his murder at 34, and so they said personally they didn't really care if people were LGBTQ+ or not and don't really want to find or arrest people. If some people made a big public issue they said they would be forced to act, but they don't really want to get into people's personal business. I thanked them for their attitude and their time, willingness to talk with me. I think they didn't want to arrest me as they had never met an american before, especially that would so loudly be against many of his own country's actions in foreign policy! It was an interesting discussion.

The reason why Russia was never allowed into the EU and NATO is because the military industrial complex which controls The US and NATO needed a Boogeyman to ensure continued high spending on military and defense infrastructure that justifies the existence of NATO. Not only that, much of the recent policy decisions from the US government were designed to provoke Russian aggression in Ukraine.

As a Russian I can verify everything you said from a perspective of an average citizen. Those who remember the 90s take everything the US says with a bucketful of salt. The irony is that we started to forget and a new generation of adults appeared who haven't witnessed those dark and desperate years. That's why Navalnyi managed to get that much support from the younger generation. But after February 22 when they'd seen all that hatred generously poured on every single Russian no matter what their political views were many of them drastically changed their mind. During the last two years the West has actually done an outstanding job to make the Russians support Putin. Lots of us changed our opinions from "Why the f* they've decided to invade?!" to "Oh, that's why! Go get 'em!"

Even I, western european, felt the same thing. As I was digging i was starting slowly to admiring Putin.
Today, I wished I had a leader that was 1/3 of what Putin is. Not only he brought Russia up from its knees, he vowed to end the US hegemony that was bringing so much terror in this world(munich speech 2007). And he grabed US and NATO by the horns as he said he would.

Immediately after 9/11 the US Bush admin spoke to Putin about the 9/11 attack stating they did not suspect Russia of involvement but the US would be increasing its Defcon nuclear threat level as standard security protocol.
Putin agreed/understood and said he would actually decrease his threat level toward the US as a show of solidarity and offered to provide FSB intel on terrorist groups in Pakistan that Russia themselves had been observing since the Soviets left Afghanistan in 1989.
Condaleeza Rice was in close discussion with her Russian counterpart at that time and later said this was the closest the US and Russia had been aligned diplomatically since Putin had entered power particularly on tackling global terrorism and relationships were very good.
Bush however refused Putin's attempt to provide free intel.
Later at a meeting of global nations circa 2002 in Europe Putin remarked when would Russia join Nato.
American diplomats under Bush said Nato was invite only and in the case of Russia that would be never..
In short, the US Bush admin snubbed Putin's attempts at alignment more than once within the first couple of years of him taking power even to the detriment of the US foreign policy.
During Obama's admin it would be proven that Pakistan NOT Afghanistan was the central hub for the very same terrorist networks Putin highlighted a decade earlier in 2001 when in 2011 the US found and dispatched Bin Laden in Pakistan, not Afghanistan.
During the UN debates on the proposed invasion of Iraq, Putin stated he didn't believe the intel on WMD's in Iraq made a compelling enough case for war with Saddam and stated that removing Saddam would only heighten global terrorism, destabilise the wider middle east region for decades to come. British MP George Galloway said the same. Both suggested other routes of diplomacy with Saddam other than the crushing sanctions imposed on Iraqi's, that included denying vital medications into Iraq for sick children.
Bush saw this as opposition to his planned invasion almost on a personal level and western media began to vilify Putin as a staunch ally of Saddam.
Putin would later point out the hypocrisy of western powers taking offence to the minor Russian conflict in Georgia to oust terrorist factions there who had bombed areas within Russia an were tied to Chechen rebels whilst the west fully supported a far larger invasion into Iraq on fabricated evidence of Saddam harbouring al qeada and amassing WMD's.
WMD's that were never found along with no links to Saddam and the 9/11 attack.

Putin is a man of his time, he rose to the challenge during Russia's most difficult period he probably saw the direction that Russia was heading towards and he took initiative, Leadership and great wisdom to make Russia strong, u should show the speech he made to the Russia people that he tried his hardest to work with the west and sadly he acknowledge he failed as it takes 2 hands to clap and unfortunately the West/US didnt want to cooperate.
Of course the US doesnt want peace in the world, otherwise how would their Military Industrial Complex maintain their high stock price and ensure high dividends to their shareholders.... this is the real problem that is plaguing the US and should not be overlooked or even blame on the Congress the US system of lobbying is legalize corruption which is why the US is fading as a superpower, just look at the costs to maintain the F35 fighter its just a high tech shell but cost a bomb to maintain and is very expensive to buy and to maintain! Its just a ripoff by the MIC to the US taxpayers to buy these expensive toys... when a cheap $500 dollar drone can just destroy a 10million dollar tank.... it should be clear to anyone these are just expensive tools that does nothing but hype up whatever capabilities it has and the Ukraine conflict has exposed all this to the world.

What's interesting is that when Putin initially took power, he was a big fan of America, and wanted Russia and USA to be allies, and he was cast aside and rejected by the US every single time. He one time asked Bill Clinton (or was it Bush, I can't remember) if there's any chance that Russia could become part of NATO, and the American president basically laughed and said "Hahahah, not a chance, buddy". It kinda really proves that America is the one who doesn't want peaceful relations with Russia, because it always needs a boogeyman in order to justify military spending.

Among the 248 armed conflicts that occurred in 153 regions across the world from 1945 to 2001:
A frightening 201 were initiated by the US - 81% of the total number...
Since then the US has created and fought some of their seven Middle East planned wars with Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Pakistan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and left misery, death, broken infrastructure and destroyed livelihoods, lives, homes and families.
Also, funding and suppling arms for the wars in Ukraine and Palestine. They watch too much of Hollywood war movies where they have believed they won all wars they were involved in when they did not win one war - truly, not one! Whereas Russia, as one of America's WWII allies, lost 27 million lives against the US and UK with approximately under half a million each...

When I heard that quote from Anthony Blinken in relation to the "International Rules based order" human rights, freedom, .. bs!! I just think he has a lot of nerve to say this.. Makes me pretty angry while the US bows down to Isreali interests while the Criminal Netanyahu regime commits a genocide in real time, while the US enables the Netanyahu regime to get away with it.. Personally I am not to impressed with the US at all. The US government are hypocrites, and many US officials are criminals, & the entire US political system is completely corrupt.. Freedom and human rights!! The US doesn't act with responsibility or these ideals even considered or factored in whatsoever!! For example look what the US did to Syria.. Zero threat to the USA. The US imposed brutal sanctions for over a decade.. The US occupies 1/3 of Syria now & has for over a decade!! Not only this but, the US is in the Oil rich & agriculture rich area of Syria for a reason.. Stealing their resources!! Where does the money go? To the Syrian people?? Pfff Hell no.. The US does this to cripple a Sovereign country that poses absolutely zero threat to the USA. All because of Netanyahu's wishes, Netanyahu doesn't like Syria falsely accused them of atrocities that are minor compared to what Isreal is actually doing, (A real time genocide in gaza). Turkey, & a rebranded terrorist group called HTS was funded by the US since Jake Sullivan's Email to Then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on February 12th 2012. "AQ is on our side in Syria ".. Where is the international rules based order then? Who was going after the US for using AQ in Syria? 10 years from 911? Doesn't this seem like a violation? Al Queada is a terrorist group & so is the HTS. What is this "International Rules based order" ?? Where is this document or written text? There isn't.. Nothing, nadda, zip, zero, ziltch, goose egg.. The US feels that it & Isreal are above the laws of the UN, & the US & Isreal violates the UN statutes all of the time.. Essentially the two are Rouge states, no rules, no legal repercussions of any kind.. Human rights & democracy, freedom.. Sure, what about these false standards for the Syrian people? The Cuban people? The Iraqi people, The Venezuelan people, the Lybian people? The Afghan people? You know I like to listen sometimes to people speak, Lavrov, Blinken, Biden, Hillary Clinton, Victoria Nuland, Jake Sullivan, the only guy or woman who tells any resemblance of the truth in my opinion is Lavrov.. The others to me don't say anything remotely close to the truth, I don't trust them, I don't believe them, & they have absolutely zero credibility in my eyes at all, but hey. This is just me here with my opinion..

To paraphrase Joe Brandon: if Russia did not birth a leader like Putin, they would have to invent a Putin. No large country with a continuous culture can be kept down for long. Russia has endured an era comparable to the Century of Humiliation. But these types of events are cyclical. Those who endure learn to adapt and overcome their circumstances. I am glad you have set the record straight here. The people in America need to know these things. Politics in the U.S. has been a megalomaniac in regard to other Nations, firmly believe that they are superior than anyone else and underestimating the strong will of other people to defend themselves from this megalomania. It will be the U.S. own fault if its Empire will decline and ultimately disappear. They should finally realize that without cooperation with other Nations they won't be able to impose themselves ever again. It's a different world than they seem to still pursue. That world disappeared with the New Millennium. They should wake up, look at the clock and what time it is and then smell the coffee. Living in the past is the worst thing anyone could ever do, but the United States seems to be sitting on its past laurels not understanding what the future holds in store for the world, and it is absolutely not waiting for the Nation to move forward. If they lose the train they will be stranded for a long while without anyone lending them a hand. Better if they board the train before it is too late.

It wont be nice for your friends to only start waking up when bombs are already raining down in their neigbhourhood and it may well come to that.
Up to this moment, these wars that your government forment all over the world have been fought oceans away. I believe this has come to a screeching halt with the trend of things in Ukraine and the nature of warfare in today's world.
The chicken may come home to roost.
Your friends and peoples of the collective west should rise up to their government and say "No more, not in our name" before it becomes too late

NO ONE wants it to get back. This - is the worst things we encountered, no matter from social class (well, except for oligarhs, of course). Thank you for your video.

'sphere of influence' is the key.. yes, the US wanted Russia in its sphere of influence, but Russia did not want to be in anyone's sphere of influence, because it was a great enough power historically with enough potential to have its own sphere of influence. The US could have accepted this and built a FRIENDSHIP with Russia on equal grounds as two equal powers both dominant in their own regions. This would have been phenomenal for the world, but greed and pride destroyed everything, as they always do. The US made its bed and now must lie in it.

Concept of “sphere influence”should be demolished to protect the sovereignty of small countries. Russian people usually are not aggressive not to accept the end of “sphere influence”, but 90s experience made them aggressive to the west.

EU would never have accepted Russia because it would have been totally dominant in population and size versus Germany, France etc - it was that simple.
The other obvious question is if the EU and NATO are so benign ... why do they continuously seek to expand ? the answer is capitalism - it is always searching for cheaper sources of materials and labour - that is how it works.

Damn it, he sorted it out better than in Putin's interview with Carlson. Although there are not enough turning points like Putin's Munich speech in 2007 and the War in Georgia in 2008. If you keep pushing on the spring, you'll get hit in the forehead with it someday.

It's also worth mentioning that it wasn't Putin, who built the authoritarian regime. Yeltsin, who is seen by many Westerners as a saint (and I actually saw some of them defending him, which is funny) did this. In 1993, when Black October (the Russian name for a constitutional crisis of 1993) happened, Yeltsin violated the Constitution over 100 times. It was proved by the Constitutional Court of Russia. He was also impeached by the Supreme Council (it was russian parliament at this time) through a legal procedure (because Yeltsin tried to disband the Supreme Council by decree, which he didnt have a right to do at all. The Council, on the contrary, had the right to remove president from power). But it didn't matter - the army was loyal to Yeltsin. After the violence and death of many, he rewrote the constitution, giving more power to the president in it. He did this all because the Supreme Council was actively resisting his reforms adviced by the West, which harmed the life of the population. Putin already had a ground to stand on when changing the system to his needs.
The West basically built himself the enemy.

If Russia was integrated, the US would have much more leverage over geopolitics today. However, the requirement was to pick diplomacy over warfare, even after the Soviet Union collapsed, the failure of reducing spending on defense and put it into other industries is why nothing changed, it's almost like the United states did not understand how to function without a major enemy. The defense industry needs a enemy to keep spending high. All this loss time and money is now coming back to bite the US. This is no different than Ancient Rome, if conquest is the only solution you have to keep the empire going. It shows a lack of long term planning.
