My two favourite things I’ve learned so far in therapy: 1) writing down a few things each day I’m grateful for from small things (a good cup of coffee, comfy blankets) to big things (family, friends, my dog etc.) it’s so easy to focus only on the things you don’t have and feel like “I’ll be happy when....” but that will always change even when that first thing does happen. 2) be your own proud parent - my parents were/are incredibly critical of me and that is now how my brain is wired to think of myself, nothing ever being good enough. It sounds crazy but just trying to notice when you are having those thoughts, remembering that maybe your parents sucked, but you can be your own proud parent and you are enough. ❤️
2:28 SO TRUE. If a guy wants you to be his girlfriend, he would and would want to shout it from the rooftops. Or at the very least, wouldn’t want you to be available and risk losing you 🤷♀️ If you don’t feel comfortable communicating, it’s not going to lead to a healthy relationship anyway. So either accept it is “casual” or count or losses and find someone who wants all of you ❤️
From a long time follower and Therapist by profession, thank you for the positive therapy plug. Normalizing therapy and positive discussions about therapy being for all people helps to end the stigma 💕

Just wanted to comment after that question about gaining weight. Obviously I know nothing about the person who shared that question, but if you are so scared of gaining weight to the extent that you starve and punish yourself for eating anything, please get help from your doctor or a mental health professional. I understand that it is an extremely difficult and complicated situation, but you are worthy of help and a change in mindset is possible. - just wanted to say this in case the situation goes beyond simple weight loss!
