The thing about this game which makes me really happy is that the devs clearly love the Warhammer 40K universe. There is SO much detail in this game, so much passion put into creating the environments, way beyond what's necessary, it can only be done if you're motivated and genuinely invested in the lore of the world you're creating. You just don't see it often on this scale. I was massively into collecting the figures as a kid/teen and seeing this game has genuinely got me wanting to start again! I forgot how brilliant the Warhammer 40K universe was...
Dam you Tomo I had just taken a sip of coffee when you said Lets go camping, which caused me to erupt and spit my coffee. Brilliant playthrough I really enjoy you 3 playing together.
the major chaos champions that have been killed so far are horus, abbadon, nemeroth and now imurah. Horus was killed by the emperor himself, abbadon was killed by the imperial fist's phalanx battle station over cadia, nemeroth and imurah were both killed by Titus two hundred years apart
sick - tomo vod day! :) also, whaat? deserters amongst the Cadians? that's an absolute oversight, their planet literally blew tf up, the only fighters left of the Cadian regiment are the ones who did not desert. massive diss. Cadia broke before the guard did!
First of all Tom, what is going on in this chat with people talking about bubble baths bro?? Time to clear out the Bots my man. Good stream tonight, everything was on point. The game looks great, unfortunately it doesn't work for me. Definitely glad to see dynamic co-op games expanding the genre. Great job Tom!
I try to stay on top of it but the bots are always plaguing my comments section when I post. I can only ban so many but it's more of a UA-cam problem in general 🙄
imo a good mode would be like a 5 and a 10 man space marine PVE content with bigger waves. It'd be sooo much fun playing through those levels or even bigger future battles with more people. the pvp mode too is good tho - similar to the 20 vs 20 mode in Star Wars Battlefront 2 which I was addicted to for like 500 hours xD.
Helmet on or off changes the voices too :) You guys missed sooo many little secrets too xD was fun to see a competant communicating squad tho after watching Asmongold fail to understand basic mechanics even as he finished the game
It's how it's prounced in the game tho :P I mean Lieutenant even in British spelling has NEVER had an F in the word as far as I know in history and they still pronounce it that way. I think it's just one of the little linguistic quirks of the imperium along with the rest of the british isle's style of speaking. A lot of words don't make sense - Dissect should be pronounced DISS ECT. not DIE SECT. But culture occured and chose differently. Like Bisect isn't spelled with 2 S's and it's got the same pronunciation :P
@ Still, xeno and xenos should be pronounced the same way except one has an S. Going from zee-noe to zen-oss makes zero sense. That’s just the Brits for you I guess.
Gears of War inspiration from Warhammer 40k and StarCraft was ripped off from 40k and Games Workshop because Games Workshop was expecting them to make a 40k game.
At that point you're better off just writing in your native language. I'm sure the translator would do a better job than you at getting the message across.
@@SoulShardx @dadquestionmark Starcraft and Gears of War were both inspired heavily by Warhammer 40k existing merely as a tabletop game and books and stuff long before anyone ever even thought of the concept or anme for either of those franchises. Also, it's not a ripoff - it's a LEGALLY DISTINCT DIFFERENTIATION because at one time Blizzard was seeking access to 40k's IP. They couldn't for w/e reason, who rly cares, so they took a ton of inspiration from it and that = zerg and also Space Marines, altho Terran Space marines are useless in comparison to a 40k marine. One could say they both ripped off the Orcs from Tolkien by that logic. How the zerg and tyranids incorporate and evolve genes tho IS slightly different tho to be fair. And also the Tyranids would DESTROY the Zerg. They are just hopelessly outnumbered. To list some more differences. They also don't have a synaptic connection that hurts them, stuns them or destroys all of them on a planet. As long as there is a Cerebrate nearby they will default to it's command. Even without the Overmind or The Queen of Blades. As far as we know the Tyranids are a singular hive mind that would be totally wiped out and or rendered feral if the hivemind was destroyed. The Zerg also don't consume ALL of the biomass on an entire planet by liquifying it and they also don't liquify and recreate their armies like the Tyranids do. They have transport ships that actually enter the atmosphere and aren't just drop pods. There are other differences im sure but i'll stop there :P
The Mechanicus purposefully keeps technological advancement at an a constant stand still for several reasons. Firstly is that it is against their religion lmao - they only believe that ancient human technology discovered scattered throughout the universe is the way to "discover" technology. Secondly, AI robot armies and every day worker and helper bots revolted and caused a war that destroyed most of humanity, trillions of people - and thus much technology was lost then that was far superior to now. But because of this - AI is prohibited in the Imperium. So advancement at a rapid pace to get to where the for example the Tau who do use AI's level of technology - but also I don't rly think the Imperium NEEDS it. they still fly 1000+ year old Gothic Armada's, thousands of ships are thousands of years old and still in service and still kick ass tbh so that provides a lack of incentive that backs up the mechanicus. The reason the mechanicus are so powerful with their religion in the imperium is because they rule Mars which had a lot of ancient tech buried in it - and back then they were just engineers, but were quickly elevated to the top of society because mars surface was basically destroyed because of something i cant remember probly just war, and so everyone lived under ground on Mars for a long ass time. And when they emerged the Mechanicus had better tech then the Imperium - so the Emperor signed a TREATY with them. They are like a different country that we are allied with that happens to be human/cyborg as well. Much of the imperium particular space marines continually express disgust and disdain for the religion as well - so it is known that it causes a lot of bullshit problems. They HAVE to pray to their machines in order to get them to work because they all contain a "machine spirit" that is programmed to recieve that prayer kind of as a series of access codes - i think. It's very long and complicated xD - but it is justified. But also: it's stylistic and also 40k was biggest I think in the 90s so computers looked like that back then xD
@@crispy_338 Also because the mechanicus' religion demands that they not TRY to invent technology themselves altho they obviously occasionally do; but they believe that most tech has to be recovered from the Old Terra era of society when the AI revolted and the STC's that could make most human technology with a single machine were lost across the galaxy. It's incredibly stupid but it does keep them married to the 'style' of having 1000+ year old ships that look like flying Churches lol. If they were allowed to advance they would eventually basically be more like the Tau and Eldar and they would lose their charm imo.
@@crispy_338 I love it personally - it's like a throwback to Aliens. And also Warhammer 40k preceeds the existence of flat sceen tech tbh so just like in Alien, tehy didn't really know what exactly the future would look like, only that they needed by design to make all of the races have different levels of tech with explanations behind their existence.
@@crispy_338 And the Adeptus Mechanicus insists on discovering the VAST majority of it's tech thru the discovery of the STC's that could give you blueprints and help any human society fabricate basically any human technology. So tehy do very little actual advancement on their own and consider scientific innovation derived by human curiousity to be heretical to their Machine Cult. That's part of the problem with having basically every military engineer in your entire empire be from a different planet that the Emperor had to sign a treaty with in order to convince them to join up, hence they are kind of like 2 separate factions. That's kind of why also the mechanicus are so arrogant, even to go as far as being extremely hypocritical of their own doctrines, in this game their research in the Necron Tomb World was extremely heretical. I want to know how many mechanicus actually BELIEVE in the machine god, cus any engineer that makes something can just be like "yeah the praying isn't neccessary it works just fine. lmao

Just a comment for the Emporer.
I mean the algorithm.
i think this playthrough is the best of all the ones that are on youtube currently in terms of squad synergy.
I agree

6:00:42: Marneus Calgar, to be precise. He’s the Chapter Master.
I was really hoping to see Guilliman xD

This is glorious
They need an Eternal Crusade Mode so we can have a massive MP Conquest mode - the PVP from Eternal Crusade.
imo a good mode would be like a 5 and a 10 man space marine PVE content with bigger waves. It'd be sooo much fun playing through those levels or even bigger future battles with more people.

damn bots beat me again 😢
Forget the Tyranids, the bots are our real enemy 😤
5:13:36 Damm the teamwork on this scene is damm immaculate
Another game that can do campaign co op is Ghost Recon Wildland and Breakpoint,Nine Parchsment also can do co op
7 hours Tomo? Is this Pal World all over again?

Ok gambit. We get it.
Imurah talks a lot more than nemeroth or abbadon ever did
3:52 you’re the only Brit I’ve ever heard pronounce Xenos correctly. Everyone else says zee-noss 🤦🏻♂️

so in the far future they have 1980s computers?
It’s like future retroism. The imperium is scared of making too much of an advancement in technology due to the mishaps of the dark age of technology
