      I think some creators are complaining about DT because this is a period of awakening for many who have been fed by Fox News and X. Perhaps their content is valuable to re-inform MAGA. I am personally sticking with any channel that is pro-Democracy.

      @Benson_aka_devils_advocate_88 3 дні тому +4

      People forget that a strong democracy requires differing ideologies. Unfortunately in this day and age one side will always be willing to work with the other side, while the other side, maga, refuses anything short of my way or the highway.
      Until we agree that there will always be differing opinions, and that that is a good thing, and we start working together, we will keep beating down the same broken door.

    • @Benson_aka_devils_advocate_88
      @Benson_aka_devils_advocate_88 3 дні тому +1

      It used to be that we agreed to disagree. The D's would bring up a bill and the R's would bring up a bill, and both sides would go back to their constituents and say: _"I don't like their bill, I hate it, I never would have voted for it _*_EXCEPT_*_ in the bill there was our XYZ thingy that we've been working on getting passed. So, I'm proud to say I finally got it passed. Yes, I don't like their part of the bill. But this is how the process works!"_
      Imagine how refreshing it would be if the government actually worked together, stepping across the aisle because you know the other side will too. Seems like a fairytale. But that's how it used to work!!

      I understand what you are saying. There are a lot of people on social media who just want to complain. We have a big job ahead of us and it's more helpful to figure out how we are going to make it difficult for the incoming corrupt administration to implement at least some of its plans. We are stuck with what we have and the more we can put our energies into diffusing its power, the better.

  • @carolmay7

    The party needs to represent the MAJORITY of Americans, whether they be Democrat or Republican. For example; 81% of AMERICANS want common sense gun laws. We do not need to change our stance to bow down to the 19% of people who don't want that, whether they are DEMOCRAT or REPUBLICAN. Although, basic human rights should never be debated, ie. women's rights, trans rights, freedom of religion or not. And separation of church and state needs to be enforced.

      how you ask the question determines the answer. If you ask 1000 people "should we ban assault weapons, to save children's lives?" 900 people will- without stopping to think- answer yes. Now, suppose you asked "Do want a society where criminals and Government goon squads have fully automatic weapons - machine guns- but the decent people are limited to cowboy-era rifles?" you'd get a different answer. BTW, full auto weapons , such as military assault rifles, ARE illegal for civilians. When leftists say "assault weapons" they mean ordinary semi-auto or self-loading rifles.

      Harris' promise of 25,000 for first time home buyers was used against democrats as a socialist concept. It was seen as a handout, and a step too far. Harris clearly had the upper hand regarding caring for the middle class - but it did not help her win. Without taking back the media - there is little hope! Everything Harris said was turned upside down and used against her - along with plenty of things she did not say! There are already further attempts to undercut the media by Trump prior to taking office! Democrats cannot win without strong media presence - much of that may need to come from neighborhood level spine, and will building grass roots organization. We are in for a rocky ride.

      We should be asking regular people. Regular people seem to think us telling them that the way they talk is offensive is pompous and condescending, and thus, makes us seem like we are lying about being inclusive, especially if the leftist in question telling them that is not a minority or working class, and what they are saying is obviously not meant to be offensive. This just tells me we need to adjust our messaging and that the issue isn't anything inherently wrong with the left itself. Thankfully, adjusting messaging is a minor issue.

      You have to realize that what it really involved was the misperception that elected officials have absolute regulatory control over the workings of the free market. They don’t. Couple that with the unspoken but inherent misogyny and racism prevalent in the middle class, and you end up with what just happened. None of “them” blame Trump for the pandemic, but they were quick to blame Harris and co. for the economic aftermath. The media, in all its iterations, has to bear responsibility for that perspective.

Minority issues are important, and having multiple parties that form coalitions would be a far better system than this one that literally divides people between red and blue. We want to unite behind something it should be this, changing our election system so it better represents what the people want and compromises made made more sense.

There's also the issue of the proud ignorance and delusion of exceptionalism that exists in this country, and that's something that is very hard to combat. I think that's the opposite of trying to appease moderate conservatives. That is the biggest problem with Democrats, too many single issue voters who stayed home just because Kamala wasnt 100% perfect in their eyes. Republicans will vote for any candidate who fits 20% of their ideals, Democrats only vote if their candidate fits 80% of their ideals. I hate to diminish people values, but if you didnt vote just because of Biden-Harris's stance on Palestine, you are not helping the situation.

    • @darlalathan6143
      @darlalathan6143 3 дні тому

      Evidently, single-issue voters need their own parties. If Democrats are too divided ideologically, then they need to help independents build up their parties, with tax-supported campaigns, for their factions to have an equal chance at winning. It's time to change from a 2-party system to a parliamentary one, like the EU, Canada, etc.

      You do realize that there are left leaning people who do not identify with democratic label? I personally will vote blue but I'm just holding my breath waiting for y'all to throw me and my kin under the bus because I'm/we are trans. A united front is all fine and dandy but for how damn long? I'm tired of being told to sit down and shut up. You want a united front then make the united issue a damn change to how we elect people because this is bs and I will NOT be quiet about what is at stake. No other democratic system operates of a two party system. Minority voices MATTER and we deserve representation and we should be able to press the issues that matter to us. We aren't asking for perfect but what I see is this party telling us to stfu and then throwing us under the bus because you didn't win even though I did my duty, voted, sucked it up and shut up and stayed in the closet.
      It's a strategy on how to vote, I agree with you and him, because it is a 2 party system. But I'm serious in saying it is LOSING people if you keep preaching about a united front and then voting in the same reps that REFUSE to change the system. It's time for a change.

    Honestly, it feels like a lot of democratic sentiment in young adults has been "Agree with 100% of my views or you get no vote." The era of compromise is lost on many. Meanwhile, the era of accountability and "drawing a line somewhere, anywhere," is totally gone from Republicans.

    In 2016, I read the majority of Democrats were Centrists. About 6 months ago, I read on a reputable site that only 50% of registered Democrats vote. I tried to amplify it, but I'm only one person. Anyway, that's the #1 reason for the loss, just think how little it would have taken if they'd been motivated.

    • @darlalathan6143
      @darlalathan6143 3 дні тому

      That's the trouble with centrism. Everything is "too radical" for their comfort zone. That's why Democrats were weak on Civil Rights, feminism, LGBT rights, and environmentalism, from the Cold War to the Obama administration. Conservatives have normalized oppression as tradition, hence their "kid gloves" handling of Trump. Moderate candidates are too much like the rival conservative ones on the Death Penalty, abortion, human rights, and the environment, in order to be "electable", causing boredom, cynicism, and voter apathy, hence the 50% Democratic voting rate.
