I swear I thought I was the only teen that watched this after the wonder years. I loved it so much. I wanted Ken Olin to be my husband at 14…..no joke.
I loved this show when I was barely into my 20's. When I started watching it, I had no idea what it would be like to be "thirtysomething". Now I'm 57 😮😮😮
Timothy Busfield is an outstanding actor (except when he was “Booger” on “Revenge of the Nerds”. I miss “Thirtysomething”. Need a reunion show about what their lives are like as Sixtysomethings…totally real about aging.
Exactly they should do it even if it's just a reunion movie something bcuz I miss them so much I was in my early twenties but I related to them so much I miss them I loved Gary I love Melissa's character I always wanted to know whatever happened with Melissa and Lee they were so cute together. 💗💗
Can you imagine how it must have been for Andrew Ridgeley who Co Wrote "Careless Whisper" with George Michael (RIP) and unlike George who gets all the Fame & Glory and recognition, Andrew is considered to be the one who rode on George's Coattails.
Yeah, I really had it in for Elliott, he did so many bad things, cheating on Nancy taking Money from The Business that he and Michael owned at the time, he also knows that in so many ways he's riding on Michael's Coattails and that Miles Drentell only tolerates him because of Michael. If Elliot is jealous he has every right to be. Michael "works" Elliot has to realize the importance of work. I'm telling you Miles Drentell is probably the only person that can hold his own with Victor Newman (Y & R). It's hard to believe The Actor who played him also played "Griggs" The Harvard Dorm Monitor in The Movie Version of The Paper Chase.
Just one thing though. Re: a character saying that "Things aren't good or bad. They just are." Not so. Of *course* some things are good & some things are bad. (For ex., caring about people: good. Hitler: bad.) Other than that glitch, this is a really good scene.
I think that Miles Speech to Michael was his way of saying to Elliott. "This is what happens when you "actually" work and take care of your Business." Elliott is so painfully jealous of Michael and they both know it. It's like The Paper Chase, where James Tiberius "Hart" becomes Friends with Franklin Ford III a Fifth Generation Harvardian who has plans to work on Wall Street after he gets his Law Degree. Ford is pampered & privileged while Hart is Middle Class who grew up on a Farm in Kansas City, MO or Minnieapolis, MN. Yet it's Hart that's the Superstar of The Contracts Class (the hardest class) and while Ford does well, he doesn't have the reputation of being "Kingsfield's Favorite" that Hart does.
Of course, some things *are* good & some things *are* bad. For ex, if someone doesn't know that child abuse is bad, that's disturbing. Just making a point. The last thing the world needs is any more people without morals.
Can you imagine if David Brent & Elliot Weston worked together, they both have a very lazy attitude about work, and the like. If I were Michael I'd say "I don't apologize for My Hard Work, after we lost the Business I had to work hard to prove myself and Miles isn't a easy Man to please, you know that."
Well the sad thing is with Elliott's Affairs he was perfectly fine leaving Nancy but now he's worried that she might die and leave him. Unpopular opinion, once you've broken your marriage vows, just divorce. Bet he will cheat again even after her cancer...
I was in my 30's in the 80's and this was one boring show. I never heard so much uncertainty and whining from people who chose to marry, have a family and start a business. This would make any guy say, SORRY, I'M NOT INTERESTED IN MARRIAGE ! BORING, BORING, BORING ! Certainly not like myself, or other couples I knew back then !
Don't poor Elliot. He doesn't take Accountability for his life or actions. If Michael got the Award he "Deserved" it. He's also like David Brent from The UK Version of The Office, he's always lollygagging when it comes to projects and the like. Remember he cost the Company A Major Deal when he didn't get an idea for a Sports Company in on time with a Budget Of Six Million.
Oh how I loved this show when I was a teenager

Bring it back please. Even for just a movie like they did for sopranos. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Still entertaining after all these years !

Yes, Timothy Busfield is a wonderful actor.
He was poindexter
Only he wasn’t Booger but why let facts get in the way of your stupidity
I miss this show and there's nowhere to watch it!
Me too
Such a touching episode😢

Why is it hard to believe?
My cousin was an au pair for Polly Draper. I haven't seen her since we were children on holiday in England
Great television show.
I'm going to find this on Amazon
Love this show.
How about a 60something reunion?
Filmed in california? Palm trees 🌴

Hart's middle name was Tiberius?
@@lagarde2011 Yes, I remember reading the book and seeing the Movie. I sometimes wonder if Kevin Brooks was dyslexic or had ADD.
‘Things aren’t good or bad; they just are.’ Miles’ Buddhist sensibility rubbing off on Michael?

wtf - it was a tv show, and he didn't cheat again before it was cancelled, so...
