The funny thing about the lack of pillows is that United has introduced a new pillow design a few months ago, it's basically a neck pillow similar to what Etihad provides.
I’d agree with your comments about Delta. I always flew Northwest Airlines in the 1990’s and 2000’s to Thailand, until Delta acquired them. I’ll be flying Singapore airlines to Thailand in September, returning in late October. I hope that the Covid tearing requirement by the U.S. is removed by then.
I flew Air France last month from DFW-CDG and CDG-DFW. The aircraft was a brand new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. When I got to my seat on the aircraft, Air France provided a pillow, blanket and earphones. Air France also served two meals that were delicious. A dinner with options of chicken or pasta and a breakfast. After dinner, the Air France flight attendant crew provided coffee or tea. During the breakfast service, coffee, tea or hot chocolate were also provided.
I understand. Back in the mid-2000s I flew to Tahiti twice on Air France 747's. Their dinners were the most delicious airline food I've ever eaten. The French did an excellent job of taking good care of us passengers. Not to mention that remarkable French cooking.
In the future -- for every Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft of all airlines (including United Airlines) parked at the gate with 2 jetbridges --, the gate MUST ALWAYS use BOTH jetbridges for passenger loading and unloading to ease the passenger traffic for both boarding and deplaning processes.
I reckon the 'feature' of the windows on the 787s are meaningless when the crew can lock them. I like to have a peek of the view from time to time and it completely prevents me from doing so when the crew lock them
Great trip report. For this kind of flight duration on Y class, I rather fly on the A350. The extra seat width does matter for such a long flight! I am shocked no pillow was provided and agree with you that the seat pitch could be configured better but I think the airline wants to standardise the 787-9 fleet so that all them can fly to anywhere.
Even when the United Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft is parked at the gate with 2 jetbridges, the gate SHOULD use BOTH jetbridges for passenger loading and unloading to ease the passenger traffic for both boarding and deplaning processes.
This is the best way to go for Singapore to San Francisco flights. The next best option after EVA, ANA, and Singapore Airlines which offer their flights at almost 2-3 times the price of United. Food is decent as well, I think it's really worth the trade-off/decline in service/quality for thrice less the price.
Thank you for sharing you trip. Those long haul flights need to be in Premium Economy or Business Class because you need more space for your legs and many times better food selection.. Again, thank you.
I will like to travel to Toronto via San Francisco I have the Canadian 10 year visa I’m wondering if I need a us visa if not intension of leaving the airport in San Francisco only transit
Thanks for the review. I've flown between SFO and SIN with Singapore Airlines a few times. While this United flight looks decent, I think SIA (SQ) flight is much better.
@@GlobalAviationTravel United is a scam compared to Singapore Air. We are going to Phucket Thailand and got the ticket for $989 r/t seats and luggage included.
When you check in from singapore (United Counter), did you checked your luggage 2nd time there or did you checked your luggage in Malaysia for final destination?
Si viajas por la misma aerolínea generalmente facturas para recoger en el destino final, si haces cambio de aerolínea y nos pertenecen a la misma alianza generalmente recoges y vuelves a facturar.

Agreed. My Parents and I paid $980 r/t with seat assignments on Sibgapore Air from SFO to Phuket for our month trip in Feb 23. Be convinced that Changi is still the best airport on the globe. There is no better airport anywhere.
UA1 San Francisco- Singapore is actually longer its like 17hours

Try UAL29 it is also a flight from SFO - SIN it flies over Philippines Mindanao and you can see my city Iligan City near Cagayan De Oro

Absolutely, the windows should not be locked! 😎

I assume that certain adult beverages were also free on this flight, you just didn’t order any, correct?
I believe in economy you can have wine or beer but if you want spirits you have to pay.
How tall are you? Just trying to gauge leg room wise thanks
5’ 7”
I will try to avoid any flight that makes you shut the window blinds or darken the windows so you can't look out.
14:20 wow .. u liked the snack pack! 😂😂
Was it aircraft full?
Yes the flight was 100% full

I'd be pissed for being stuck in a lousy airline like United!
Have you tried flying SIA A350 from to SFO-SIN?
Not yet, but flying Singapore Airlines long haul is on my to do list!

Singapore Air over United any day in Y. Just look at all the drinks and food you get!

What would be the ranking of the three US carriers for long haul economy in your opinion?
1. United 2. Delta 3. American
