Holy shit rant at 12:00 resonates so much I don’t wanna carry the game I want it to be a close nail biter where we fight it out in a epic team fight and 1 player is left standing to run it down and end those games always feels so much better to win for me at least
This is what everybody thinks but some haven't discovered it yet. The game is fucked on soloq. On duoq the draft algorithm gives you three mental asylum escapees to the team every time and you have to 2v8 untill you reach Master+
Man the whole league is toxic section every take he had I felt so much, high elo being unbearable, no voice chat, having to carry to climb all of those things ruined league for me to the point where now I’m just a casual norms player. If voice chat was added and matchmaking was more fair to where you could get those close games more often league would be an actual fun game but as time goes on we just get further and further from that. It’s such a slap in the face that they gave valorant voice chat but not league too like that shit blew my mind
The big difference between League and other games is that if someone ints then enemies get stronger. In COD or shit like that, one person can't run down your game as hard, if he play poorly his value might be 0, in League a bad player has negative value.
League and other MOBAs allow you to stat check your opponents, FPS games don't really have that tbh.
There are checkmates in both genres, but they are a lot harder to happen in shooters due to player skill being a bigger factor and the "moveset"(what each player can do) is always the same if it's not a hero shooter.

there are some inherently toxicity enabling things in league, but other than that, the real toxicity maker is addiction. addicts fighting over heroin.
it's not even 'addiction'. people throw that word around any chance they can without putting any thought into it. the amount of people actually addicted is miniscule, there are just too many people who don't know anything better to do with their lives. also the heroin comparison doesn't hold up one bit.
@@SolaceV9 ive known irl league and drug addicts. league addict was a hardstuck gm adc player, playing min 400 games a month, complete degen. saw worse physical and mental degradation in him than i ever saw in the drug addict. 4years of drug addiction came to an end, the league player is still addicted. guy failed high school and is a NEET.

My favorite part about there being no voice chat in league is that riot self admittedly chooses not to implement it cause they think people will be mean and hurty feelings. there is literally 0 reason in 2024 why i have to stop playing the game to type a message to be able to communicate with team mates.

13:30 I feel this in my soul, I'm just trying to get plat queueing ADC as a personal goal, and it feels like it never matters how well I do, it only seems to matters how the rest of my team does. If I do poorly but my team is stomping, I'm at least allowed to play the game for the most part. If I'm ahead and team gets stomped, can't even farm without being rolled under tower mid-late game

And that is the most disgusting and toxic mind set of all time. But the game just lends itself to really foster that. IMO the prime example of league toxicity is: "I think you are bad at this game, so I will run you down so you don't win." I have never seen a game where this happens as often as it does in league. It is the classic horrible reality that most people will not let other people have nicer things than them, even if they get something nice as well. They would rather have nobody have anything enjoyable at all. It is the mindset that genuinely makes the world a worse place in every way.

Riot doesn't do enough to encourage active play and cooperation within their game, the lack of comms within the game, the allowing of multiple accounts, lack of moderation on the higher and lower ends outside of extreme cases, coordination and team-play not being rewarded by the devs or through game balance, there are aspects of the game that encourages KDA chasing and there is very little encouragement to work together and actually help your teammates when being selfish is easier.
At this point it is unfixable. The community is as horrible as it is and will not change. Riot is responsible for it being what it is, but at this point it is impossible for them to fix. It is just like getting addicted. It is your fault getting addicted in the first place, but in most cases now that you are an addict you can't change it anymore by yourself.
Chat off and pings off whenever someone spam pings made the game so much more enjoyable for me. And I say this as a fucker who would be toxic and type.

i came back to league to play 1 game of D4-D3 and the first game enemy jgler ran it down.
What got me from plat to master was when i played i just decided that im gonna spam farm and objectives and not force plays.
When i can give the kill over to the laner and make it obvious I gave it to them and generally speaking you dont get flamed if you misplay later cause you did them a solid
The rant from 10:00 to 14:30 is 100% the reason I quit league, probably the most accurate rant about league I've ever heard. 40% of games my team will get completely stomped (usually flaming everyone who is not getting stomped), and I can't play at all and have to sit there afk for 20 minutes waiting for 1 mistake by their carry, and I have to play perfectly to capitalize, and I can't make a mistake all game. 40% of the games my team wins and usually just carries me and I could've been an AI. 20% of games are "real" games, where I have to hope I'm not in a losing lane or vs one of the many instant waveclear champions so that I can actually play the video game after doing nothing for 4 hours.
I think toplane can carry games where everyone is feeding quite often. If you are ahead on a champion that can hard pressure sides you can potentially drag the game out so long that it allows your team to catch up and become relevant. It's part of the reason i enjoy it so much.

It came from Latin originally, but the last "step" before being introduced to English was, in fact, French.

yea i agree with the sentiment that the game is kind of carry or lose. i was thinking about it earlier where like technically you can kind of just 1v5 in csgo or valorant, but in league you cant legit 1v5 you have to just pull your cattle to the water and pray they drink
then to comment on when he was saying about jg and adc having it worst. i agree when your team's losing in the jungle you cant go anywhere, when your teams losing as the adc you just have no agency, but also when your team's losing on mid you are having support and jg in your lane whole game, and in top lane your team is already completely losing before the laning phase ends and then finally you can impact the team, support probably is the only role that isnt super effected but even then the support struggles in low elo to carry games.
If you are playing as a team, you should almost never ff as if you don’t learn how to play from behind, when you play on stage you will never be able to make a come back.

i literally cannot playt league without smoking first because only then will the obscenities typed to me do not inflict damage onto my mental and i can just ignore it and focus more. I dont think the game itself is toxic, but i think that they should try to implement things to make the solo q experience a bit more like the competitive experience of lcs, i watch a lot of pro games and then when i go to play solo q it is an entirely different game, it sucks lol
League is a team game without in-game voice comms, where like 50% of people are chat restricted

Its not brain science, its baffling how one of the most team centric games refuses to give us voice comms, you dont get 5vs5 because nobody gonna type shit or ping shit to communicate... just put voice comms in the game..

14:25 adc is the most team reliant role in the game, how can anyone think it's fun to play with 4 losing players on your team? it's the most miserable shit you can imagine. dom says as jungle you can't even take your camps, which is true, but as adc you don't get to collect resources either. you can't walk to your bot t2 and collect the wave because there's no vision anywhere and enemy team has a hecarim. how good are marksmen champs without gold? it's literally the same shit as the agurin zyra game. you either go afk or you go 0/15, just nothing you can do, gl hf

League isnt a toxic game. There are aspects of it that dont necessarily promote healthy gameplay loops but that doesnt make the game toxic and those things arent an issue for 99% of players. The toxic part is almost entirely on the people who play the game.

the game becomes toxic because no one views the game the same way and climb their own way
League honestly shows a modern form of communism in a funny way.
It always is about the community, and Riot is an oppressive government. So much regulation now, chat bans, honor system, getting rewarded for not typing vs actually trying to coordinate with your team
And it is up to you, league puts the blame on you for not winning even if you aren't the determining factor. "Just be better" seems like a very poor alternative to putting in designs that compliment teamwork, like voice chat or a dawn gate solution where you tie toxicity to the amount of games you can play
With the voice chat argument that Dom made I disagree, unless lol players are that pussio I don't see why it would be different than any other competitive genre with voice chat, I find in fps games people talk in a way more toxic manner than they type. But maybe that's just an OCE thing
