Can you provide torque specs for the torque strut? Sue from 1A always provides the torque and angle settings.

What symptoms are noticed with bad torque mounts? I'm getting a bad rumble or vibration sound when pulling away but goes away after a gear change and less acceleration.

Motor mount. Even if they LOOK new, they get hard. OR, if hydraulic mount, they leak lose effectiveness.

guys I replaced this same part on my xc70 by just directly unbolting it, none of the other steps were necessary for me, correct me if I'm wrong but it's the same setup so it should work with this.

Thanks for the video. Is it necessary to remove the brace at the top of the engine? Seems unrelated to me, but perhaps there is a reason.

I have an xc70 but it's the same part and I just directly unbolted it and bolted the new one on. Only had to remove the plastic splash shield to get to it. you could just unbolt the front 3 bolts on the splash shield and get to it and bend the plastic a little. Not sure if it's the same on the xc90

Is there a difference to the V70 2? There is no need on the V70 2 to remove upper parts - only the mount underneath., without any lifting or support necessary. What happens if you do so on the XC90?

Nah, there shouldn't be any difference between replacing the lower torque rod on the XC90 or P2 V70/XC70. Same platform, same engine. The Volvo repair manual (for XC70) doesn't mention anything related to that, you don't even need to support the engine. Steps to follow are:
      -remove splash guard
-remove torque rod from transmission and sub-frame
      -install new torque rod
-tighten transmission screws to 35 Nm, then angle-tighten an additional 40 degrees (so don't use an impact gun like in the video, you'll strip the threads in the aluminium transmission case)
-tighten sub frame nuts to 65 Nm, then angle-tighten an additional 60 degrees
-tighten the nuts and bolts of the torque rod to 35 Nm, angle-tighten 90 degrees
not a single word about having to remove other mounts or supporting the transmission.

SAME style as Ford Five Hundred. They colluded with Volvo on that car. Ford made it worse making bushing using a ONE PIECE aluminum bar. PLUS, the Ford bushing(mount), is TERRIBLE quality-wise. They break up in 1-2 years easily. Difficult to replace the bushing mount in-car. Looks easy!! OR, about 180 or so to replace entire aluminum bar, with bushing mount built in. Your choice.
