I only realised today when I bought original one.
Also big think. Fake does not fit correctly around the edges and lets unfiltered water through.
It was suspicious when seller removed listing immediately after sale.
No more ebay filters.
I bought new jug thinking my old deformed from temperature, but it was fake filters that did not fit. Also my old original jug from ebay was missing valve :( all this time. Double trouble...
Print: Made in Germany gives it away too.

Thanks for video. I came across counterfeit today, you just proved me that i was right. But i got standard Maxtra filter, ordered from ebay. The same issues you showed in the video. Poor quality plastic, you can spot difference straight away.

Most interesting, and very unsurprising really. Things that consumers want but don't want to pay crazy sums of money for are always going to be faked. If Brita and retailers sold these at an honest and fair price, there would be no need for fake filters. I dread to think how much Chinese factories make from making these.

Can you do one opening up the particles. I think the fake one I got have white things. And the black filter part seems to be charcoal because if I wrap it onto the floor it will be black

I just can't afford to keep buying these cartridges they are way overpriced it's just like a photocopier scam with the ink. surely it doesn't cost $14 to make one filter

Just a comment to comparison in this video: Be aware the exact inscriptions written on the packaging of the faked item left, which are different to the genuine item right, does not means its a fake item! I have just myself buyed filters with that inscriptions, but it still have all the other characteristics showned in this video, that proves its the real stuff!

There are many chinese resellers there.
Avoid cheapest ebay, from from good sites or shops

Not al fakes are lower quality, this is not a rolex watch. You should compare the INGREDIENTS, because we use this filter for water filtering. The outside packaging and poor plastic is not very important, what is important is the quality of the ingredients used to filter the water.

Hi, thanks for your comment. These are not comparable to the original as the filtering particles are much lesser than the original as well as the depth which water should pass through in order to efficiently filter the water.
If you don't mind lack of authenticity by all means go ahead with them but they won't last long and they don't filter water effectively either. My channel is about to inform and avoid to protect my viewers by paying full price for substandard products. Thanks again and cheers for now.

And what is the ingredients in the fake filters, and which unknown and potential dangerous chemicals does it containe?? You have to be really naive to believe its the same quality as the genuine item, and I will in particular never buy anything that can harm my health

they are both fake because it's supposed to say Brita on the container not just on the packet so they're both fake

Go back and watch the video again, you will see Brita on the top of the filter.
