With no disrespect to James Steele on Tenor, Konrad Wiszniewski - one of the best baritone sax players on the planet is the driving force behind that fabulous Little Richard sound. Sooo great to hear a group of white jocks perform black 40s RnB and 50s RnR so darned well. Wouldn't work of course without that world class blues/gospel/soul voice on top! Sing Brother Will! Sing!
Interesting comment, Sir. I personally, would shy clear of wolves in sheep's clothing. They certainly can cut the proverbial mustard, but Rockin Rollers they are not.
Cabaret/Wedding band at best, with a soulless passion(or passionless soul) for covering/reviving classic American rock n roll and R n B.
My own Jock faves of yore who fused soul and R n B being Mr Alex Harvey and Mr Frankie Miller. However, not for them, an accolade from Mr. Rod Stewart- (himself latterly jumping on the great American songbook bandwagon)....
As the great Rollin' Joe used to lament:
