Gday from Australia! Youtubing is hard work and time consuming. You need to do it because you love it. Agree to all of that! You've been very busy on the community tab, Karen! I've been enjoying the GORGEOUS scenery on your walks. Taking those walks is a great way to practice self-care as a content creator. Now that my summer vacation has begun, I've got 2 months of daily walks ahead of me to enjoy!
@@beautifullifesageg.3951 I used to use the community tab but got no reaction to it, so I stopped. You inspired me to start using it again! I enjoy the simplicity of a nice photo. I'm looking forward to seeing your walking photos!
Im ALL for simplicity !!! I am also unscripted. It feels so much more natural and one of our ADHD superpowers is that when hyperfocus hits, we CAN speak on just 1 topic from beginning to end! 😂 I will still explore scripting at some point, as I also really enjoy writing 😊 Im loving the journey. And I hope you get back to enjoying it!
I relate to that immensely! I'm enjoying this...I just over extended myself too soon and without a plan. Working on the plan now that I'm on summer break. I appreciate your regularly being here in the comments! I look forward to seeing you here.🥰
I'm not sure how accurate my memory is on this but it feels true...for the avg person running a marathon there are training schedules where people complete the marathon where they run 4min and walk 2min. What I remember is that for the avg person the people who walked/rested finished the marathon faster. rest is productive. Love the message in this video. :)
That's a great way to put it. Makes total sense. Rest it is! I'm replying to my viewer comments the next couple days while I recover from the school year and will use the community tab to engage...less efforting there!😉. Next week I'll be rested and ready for my summer "marathon!" Thanks for your comment and for being here. 😊🙏
Hi! 👋 Thank you so much for making & sharing this video 💕 I feel very related to the topics you shared here, such as that "wearing ourselves down for the sake of content creation" -bit I also find myself doing all the time and not taking care of myself as a result. Completely agree with you on focusing on progress rather than perfection because in fact: it is just unattainable, so no point in that. Lately I've been focusing on trying to make content that means something to me as a creative & is also able to help my lovely subscribers. Thanks so much for sharing your stats at the end. Let's make that goal a reality ✨🚀
I'm glad it resonated with you. If we are to be successful at this, we need to take care of ourselves and also look out for one another ..encourage each other and respect our need to rest. It's hard work...but expressing our creativity is a passion that I don't want to allow to waste away. Thanks for reaching out to comment! I look forward to hearing from you more and enjoying your channel!😊

You are doing so good!! I feel like I need to up my game but like you said, it can lead to too much time and burnout and I don’t want to do that either. I’m working two jobs and doing this with small kids at home, so I totally get it. I watched all the way!😅 let’s get you monitored!!😊
Hi Jen, you have so got this! Great video and I can relate to a few points. Progress over perfection, 'always' and so what if you miss uploading a few videos, your working on them in the background, managing a busy life & creating a beautiful community by giving so much support and inspiration. I love to fully immerse myself in learning and find it so hard to swich off because I love the process. Your definitely winning, be kind to yourself. Great analytics. 🙌♥
Hello from Salt Lake City! Your video came up in my home feed for no apparent reason but I watched it and I’m inspired! While I haven’t uploaded my first video yet (crafting/DIY), you’ve given me the idea to make being monetized by my 58th BIRTHDAY a thing to actually do. I have until November. Subscribed! Thanks so much good luck!
Wow! That's exciting to hear! Feel free to reach out with any questions and I'll try my best to help. It's a fun journey to challenge yourself to! Good luck! 👍💕
Great video! While you’re home for the summer, I would definitely take advantage of that time and create a bunch of batch content while you can. It’ll be a lot of work, but at least that way, you’ll already have videos ready in case your schedule starts to get busy and you won’t feel as crunched on time with your upload schedule. Keep up the great work! 👍🏻🙂
You're not alone. Its the reason I had to take a couple of weeks break from recording this last week is because life has got so busy and I let self cre get pushed to the side. You're doing a great job 👏 they do say on UA-cam consistency is key, but everyone's consistency looks different. I know some creators who only upload once per month and still reached monetisation eventually. You got this 🎉 Also, hello from the UK 🙌
Hi to the UK! Yes…I’m still getting my groove going and need to find a good pace for myself. Regardless…it’s still fun and the creative energies that it fuels in me is a driving force to keep going…after rest of course! 🤪💕
Hi Jen. I’m in the UK. Learning all I can and realising I need to set myself a challenge. I upload a podcast interview every week, but I realised I need to put myself in the frame a bit more if I’m to monetise. Love following you - glad you’re taking care of yourself!
Those.are some impressive gains! Hoping that you hit your goal and have the happiest birthday! Here for the ride from PA! Hey Bruce, you are not alone. 😂
I agree that it is challenging and takes great effort. My opinion is that if it is in your heart to try, and you are willing to take the necessary steps to learn the skills beyond creating the video (SEO) then you have as good a chance as any other new creator here. 💕. This community is very supportive…so stick around!
Ok Jen, we aren’t looking for perfection in your videos. Nor do they have to be heavily scripted movie productions. We just want to see you succeed in your goal of monetizing your channel. Your audience consists of mature people who can remain engaged for more than 10 seconds. We know that life exists outside of the school day. We also know that life exists outside of UA-cam videos. So, do all the things you have to do first, then add UA-cam into the mix. Get the school year done so you can have more of your time to do the things you love and to create. I know you will make it.
These are very wise words and so thoughtfully given. I'm honored to have good people here with me on my creative journey. Keeping good company in this space! Thanks Ray! 🙏
I love your comment about being mature people who can stay engaged for more than 10 seconds. There are still plenty of us who enjoy a normal flowing conversation without having to move on to the next thing in 10 seconds. If what’s being said is of value to me, I’ll stay engaged. Jen, what you have to say is valuable and we appreciate your content. Keep it up sister! 😊
@@simplifyyourlifewithgwen Thank you. It is nice to be in a community of mature supportive people. This is is a good group and will continue to grow as we all prosper.
I always watch your videos all the way through because I love them❤ I love music on my videos but others have told me it’s also distracting. I think it’s a balance of volume and some people love it and some don’t, we can’t please everyone. You are doing great balancing life and YT, life always comes first and you’re doing great! I respect what you’re doing. Wow! You have far away fans! Also great job walking! You got this! Let’s keep going! I have a hard time reading and understanding the analytics.
Thank you Tracie! I added the music bc I had learned that it increases retention..keeping people engaged and adding emotion. But I don’t understand yet how to make the levels correct. I may hold off until I figure that out…I don’t want it to be a distraction. 🤪. Oddly, I LOVE reading data! I HATE math..but I love numbers and patterns…so data is fun for me. I’m happy to help you with yours if you’d like!
Great minds think alike! Now I understand the name choice for your channel. Glad to be an inspiration to you! Just knowing that there are lovely people in this space should help us both to have the confidence to step back when needed. I've also started using the community tab for engagement when I know I can't get a video out. It's so helpful!
Gosh, self-care is critical. I struggle with sensory overload and at times also with information overload haha. It is so reassuring to hear you sharing your experiences, it makes me feel like I am not alone. You can count on me! BTW, I live in the UK 🇬🇧 ❤
Same here, Joane. So many sensory struggles. When I think of the fact that I've lived my whole life this way..it astounds me! Learning now how to offer myself some space for peace.
I think you are doing a wonderful job Jen, keep going you will get there! I faced similar hurdles like you with my newish channel and so I had to take time off for self care also. I started my channel last year and I too had a wake up call as to how much time it actually takes to create a you tube channel and videos/editing. I have been taking time out to reflect and reset. You are doing a great job, your videos have inspired me to start my own monetization challenge too, Thank you and I am sure you will achieve your goal. Have a lovely weekend 😊
I appreciate your thoughtful words. I did take a break to rest a bit this week and feeling less overwhelmed. I’m excited for your monetization challenge! And honored to have been an inspiration ]! 🙏💕☺️
@@beautifullifesageg.3951 That's wonderful to hear you have taken time for a rest, I think it can be beneficial it allows space for new inspiration. I was at the beach for work yesterday, it was so lovely. Its really amazing the power nature has on us. You know I was thinking about your videos, I am someone that loves learning and I have a great respect for teachers, it would be lovely to hear all about your journey as a teacher on your next walk/talk vlog. Just a thought if you have not already covered it. For me personally that's the best part about my job as a photographer at the newspaper, taking the photos is great but its hearing peoples stories and how all the pieces of the puzzle came together to lead them to where they are today which I find so fascinating and inspiring. Have a beautiful week. ☺💜
You are doing great. Ive watched many burn out videos, so recognizing when you need to pull back is super important. I'm planning my own monetization series. I hit 1k subs in Dec, but am just treading water with watch time. Since I started 3 years ago, I lose watch time every day as well as gain it. I'm keeping pace, but just not getting enough to increase the total. I need a net 600 hours to cross that 4k mark.
Thank you for reaching out and helping to validate the importance of rest. 🙏💕. Good luck to you on your content creation journey. 👍. The watch time hours are harder to manipulate. I tried using a storytelling technique recently that improved watch time on that specific video. Maybe consider doing some research and see if you can wind that into your videos. I'm rooting for you!!!
Hi Jen! Great video! And you are definitely right about self-care being very important. I think when I complete my 28-Day Core Challenge, you and @silversolo have inspired me to a monetization series!! It’s very inspiring. You are growing much quicker than me. So congratulations!! Quick friendly tip…the volume of your music is overshadowing your voice some. You might want to use headphones when editing so you will be able to hear better what the viewers hear. Keep going. I’m in Maryland and watched all the way to the end!☺️👏🏽
I will definitely be there supporting you when you start your challenge! And thank you for the advice on the music. I was experimenting with doing something new and I still need to figure out how to make that work correctly. I appreciate your kind feedback! 🙏💕
You are doing great! Content Creation does take a lot of time and effort. I am still struggling with my channel to get new subscribers and view time. Most people only watch the first couple of minutes of my videos, then they either skip ahead or click off.😪 My recent video is getting almost no views, it's been 3 days and I barely have 20 views. It breaks my heart. I'm trying to figure out how to pivot my channel slightly, so I can provide more and better content. I'm feeling boxed in by my niche. When I do get new subscribers, they tell me they didn't even know my channel existed. So, apparently my channel isn't getting seen much either. If it doesn't get seen, of course I'm not going to get any subscribers or watch hours. I'm still learning as I go. I have been consistently posting about 7-8 months and you have almost more subscribers than I have, so I believe you will reach your goal! I love your videos! I totally understand how you feel about the burn out. I struggle each week to maintain a consistent schedule and I'm not even working right now as I was laid off permanently April 30th. Take whatever time you need; your viewers love you! Btw I am from SW Virginia! 😊
Good morning Kimberly! Sending you love and gratitude for your kindness. Have you been watching videos by VidiQ and Think Media or other UA-cam experts? There's so much info out there in SEO that's helpful to small channel creators.Amd if you have any questions...feel free to ask. I'm happy to help!💕
@@beautifullifesageg.3951 Thanks! I watch tons of videos to learn everyday including Think Media. I also use TubeBuddy. It helped a little in the beginning, but not so much now. I'm starting to develop an inferiority complex. 😕Maybe it is me or perhaps my niche or both. As for your channel, I hope you hang in there. You are on the right path!
Daniela Del Valle - From Australia...Omg thank you for sharing that. it does take so much time just to even get your first video out. When I ReVamp furniture, it could be weeks of work put into 15 min.. challenging... hehehe I am so inspired by your content, thank you.🤩
thanks for your kindness! It is a lot of work in the beginning while we get used to using new skills and following new routines. But…like learning to revamp furniture, there was a time when you didn’t know how and you kept diving in until it was easy. That’s what I expect UA-cam to be like at some point!
It’s SO hard at the end of the school year. Yesterday was the last day with kids. 3 more days for me. I haven’t put out a video in a month. I have interviews lined up for the next two weeks when I’m out of school. I’d love to interview you on my channel. How do I get in touch with you? I hope you grow faster than me. 400 subs last summer and now over 700. Hoping to monetize this summer. I’m in VA.

Hello Beautiful, I am a new content creator and i am finding your videos valuable. I love your tips. I live in New Zealand with a great bunch of pets who feature in my shorts. Im now getting into making more long forms now that I got my toes wet in the shorts. Lol. ❤
Hi there! It brings me joy to hear that these tips are helpful to you! Even more joy to know that I am making connections with people as far away as New Zealand! It’s amazing what is possible these days. FYI…my main content is centered around living your best life in your 40, 50’s and up. I’m still hashing out exactly what that means! This particular video is part of a monetization challenge series I set for myself to monetize by my 55th birthday next month. All that said to encourage you to watch the other videos in my catalog as this monetization/“coaching” series will likely not be the meat of my channel. 💕🙏
Hi , almost -neighbor. I used to hang out there a lot while I was working on a farm in Port Orchard. Now I just get over there by sailboat with friends. Tides Tavern. Is the Net Shed restaurant still going? Amazing food.
Watching from Oklahoma. Where it’s windy. Always. 😁 When I started my channel a month ago my goal was to make it as simple as I could. I want to be efficient with my time. I don’t want to get sucked into this creation vortex that consumes me. (Which I could do easily) 🫣 Consequently, I’m going slower than my ambitions want. But… as you mentioned… we have to take care of ourselves. And… it still takes me a lot of time. But I’m learning things that make me more efficient. Lol. I knew I had to get June behind me (I’m teaching a class 4 nights a week and preaching or evaluating sermons on the weekends) In July I will start my monetization videos. You and Jen with Silver and Solo inspired me! 😃🙌🏼 Keep up the great work! 💗
Thank you Gwen! Looking forward to your monetization series and journey! I am now getting back on the ball. I made 8 videos in May and only 2 in June. Listening all the way. I get it and do it. 🤏🤠😎 Am I the only guy? Thanks for the wave. I will go looking for some other males who are on the journey. Celebrating progress in North Carolina. Self awareness is a good thing. I am anxiously awaiting yours and my break through/tipping point. I am planning a video that documents others' tipping points. Hey Bruce! I can’t confirm that you are the only guy…but you are one of my active male commenters. That in itself deserves mention. But you will now forever be my birthday buddy! 🎉🎁. So far, no one else gets to share that with you. ☺️ I haven’t yet gotten a gimbal, which would stabilize my video while I’m walking. @@NailGirlInMontana it won't fund and around-the-world holiday anytime soon 🤣 but it's a nice bit of pocket money that I'm saving to buy a new laptop.
I will still explore scripting at some point, as I also really enjoy writing 😊
Im loving the journey.
@@beautifullifesageg.3951 Thanks so much for taking time to reply to my comment. So excited for you on this monetization journey. You can do this 💪 Let's reach for the stars! ✨🚀
You are doing so good!! I feel like I need to up my game but like you said, it can lead to too much time and burnout and I don’t want to do that either. I’m working two jobs and doing this with small kids at home, so I totally get it. I watched all the way!😅 let’s get you monitored!!😊
Hi Leslie! Thanks so much. You are a busy lady! I appreciate your comment and kindness.🙏
I should add that I'm in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, UK
Oohhh...I have many UK viewers! Welcome!
Thanks for letting me know that this resonated with you. 🙏 I appreciate your support🥰
Watching from Tennessee! Great job on your videos.
Hi Lisa and Luke! Thanks for being here! Tell me something you love about Tennessee! I’ve never been…✨
Yes! Progress over perfection! Near London, 🇬🇧 here. Lovely deep, real but also fun video 🎉
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good luck! 👍💕
From Australia here!😁
Me from India here ❤
Welcome all the way from India, Niki! Tell me something you love about where you live! 🤩🙏
I’d love to know what you love about where you live, Judith! 🙏✨
That actually great advice!!
Thanks Randy? And great suggestion! 💕🙏
@@beautifullifesageg.3951 No problem! Glad to help where I can! 🙂
Hi, watching from Abu Dhabi 😊
Oooohhhoooo great 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hello 😊 and welcome! Tell me something interesting about Abu Dhabi!
You got this 🎉
Also, hello from the UK 🙌
Hi to the UK! Yes…I’m still getting my groove going and need to find a good pace for myself. Regardless…it’s still fun and the creative energies that it fuels in me is a driving force to keep going…after rest of course! 🤪💕
Hi Jen. I’m in the UK. Learning all I can and realising I need to set myself a challenge. I upload a podcast interview every week, but I realised I need to put myself in the frame a bit more if I’m to monetise. Love following you - glad you’re taking care of yourself!
Oh wow! I'm looking forward to your challenge! Thanks for your kind words! I have a little community of viewers in the UK! 💕
Those.are some impressive gains! Hoping that you hit your goal and have the happiest birthday! Here for the ride from PA! Hey Bruce, you are not alone. 😂
Thanks for your encouragement all the way from PA! I’m sure @brucelande will be happy to know he’s in good company! 😉
Making money on UA-cam would be great 👍. However first as a new youtube channel you need to be noticed and have people interested. That's a challenge
Thanks Ray! 🙏
Thank you. I've been teaching for 50+ years and know how the end of the school year can stress you. We look forward to your videos.
@@raykusko9365 agreed. 🙂
🎉Love your videos and you will make it for your birthday 🥳
Appreciate you! 🥰🥰
I always watch your videos all the way through because I love them❤
I love music on my videos but others have told me it’s also distracting.
I’m to scared to get on here
I just started and am trying to accomplish the same thing. Sharing my wisdom at 53 :-) Cheering you on (and newly subscribed). You got this!!
p.s. the last part of this video really got me in the feels
Great minds think alike! Now I understand the name choice for your channel. Glad to be an inspiration to you! Just knowing that there are lovely people in this space should help us both to have the confidence to step back when needed. I've also started using the community tab for engagement when I know I can't get a video out. It's so helpful!
Thanks for the encouragement!
@@beautifullifesageg.3951 Thanks, Jen!!
You got this!!!!! I know it's possible!!!! What day in August? My dad's is the 10th.
I’m the 25th! My daughter is the 11th! 🎉🎉
I’m in VA.
I would LOVE to do an interview! I put an email contact in my video descriptions. Feel free to reach out! 💕🙏
Hey 👋🏾
I came across your vid after seeing the comment you left on Live Video School’s vid, about starting a YT channel 😊
Camera loves you 👍🏽. Only criticism is background music is a little too loud.
Hi Carol! Thanks stopping by.🙏💕. On this particular video, I was experimenting with using music and wasn’t yet clear on how to make the levels work. Thanks for the feedback. 1 % better with each video is the way to go! 😃
This is so good! Congratulations on your growth - what I’ve learned is that you can step back a bit in busier times and your videos keep going - I also noticed you are out walking 👏🌻💫😉
And now my summer break has started, so walking will be a daily activity! Thanks for your kind words, Karen.🙏💕

Hi to Florida!
Nice 👍🏻
Gig Harbor Washington here
Hi Kris from Washington! Glad you’re here! 😻
Hi , almost -neighbor. I used to hang out there a lot while I was working on a farm in Port Orchard. Now I just get over there by sailboat with friends. Tides Tavern. Is the Net Shed restaurant still going? Amazing food.
Great 👍🏻
You got this! 🫶🏻 I am also an August baby 😀 love that you learned how to care for yourself ☺️
Cheers to August babies! Virgo? ✨🎉
Watching from Oklahoma. Where it’s windy. Always. 😁
When I started my channel a month ago my goal was to make it as simple as I could. I want to be efficient with my time. I don’t want to get sucked into this creation vortex that consumes me. (Which I could do easily) 🫣
Consequently, I’m going slower than my ambitions want. But… as you mentioned… we have to take care of ourselves.
And… it still takes me a lot of time. But I’m learning things that make me more efficient. Lol.
I knew I had to get June behind me (I’m teaching a class 4 nights a week and preaching or evaluating sermons on the weekends)
In July I will start my
monetization videos. You and Jen with Silver and Solo inspired me! 😃🙌🏼
Keep up the great work! 💗
Thank you Gwen! Looking forward to your monetization series and journey! I am now getting back on the ball. I made 8 videos in May and only 2 in June. I was recovering from a busy school year and used June to rest deeply…or my version of deep rest! lol. My plan is more content this month. I appreciate your vulnerability. 💕
Are you actually walking and using a selfish stick. I bought one and am having trouble figuring it out. I am at the end. Well done! You kept us engaged.😅
Partly because I keep forgetting, and partly because it’s more conspicuous…and I’m a bit nervous. But I will soon. I’ll probably look into the one that Jen (@silverandsolo) uses to start.
Watching from Florida!
Amazing
Welcome Allison! I hope your recovery is coming along (I saw the videos posted on your channel). 💕🙏
@beautifullifesageg.3951 thank you! Yes I'm doing 100% better! And Thank goodness as that was a brutal process. Everyone needs to thank their Achilles tendon for doing such amazing work. 🙂
