I am not knowledgeable about the mystery tools, although i would agree that the one looks like it may be and early version of an automotive piston ring spreader. Looks to have been another enjoyable flea market outing!
It is always fun to go hunting for tools.😁 By the way, the gift you sent me is the restoration for this Friday. Thanks again and have a merry Christmas.
You grabbed a very unique bunch of tools there. Don't worry, you're not the only who cannot pass a flea market without stopping. 😆 What a great hobby! 👍
Yes, I do believe I did get a great bunch of tools. So, are you saying it’s OK because you do it too or you have a problem as well?🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks so much for stopping by. Merry Christmas and have a great week.
You are definitely a kindred spirit. I feel the same way and they fascinate me as well and I want to know all that I can about them. Thanks for your visit and hope you have a great week.
Listen....you are among friends... Take a chair, sit down and join the circle. Listen to how we all tell the group about our last visits to flea markets. Together we can get through this; as a group we should be able to come up with enough excuses and stories to keep any pesky loved ones off our backs! Hey, You don't tell anybody how many shoes to buy..... or what dishes look best on the Christmas table.
I really think you got something here! And afterwards we can all go out to the local flea market! I love it! 😄😄😄Thanks so much for sharing and hope you have a merry Christmas.
Thank you very much for the greetings from Finland! It’s great to know where people are at when they’re watching these videos. I hope you feel free to stop by anytime. Merry Christmas to you and have a great week.
Haha, that's what the youtube restoration community is for - to help with addictions! That Twix is just plain cool. Love those old sav vises, I have one I use that was made here in Pittsburgh. That's be my guess, snap ring pliers. Holy smokes that is one frankensteined hammer!
Yes! I can blame you guys for fostering my addiction😄😄. I really do think it’s a wonderful hobby with something Of value when you’re finished. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts about the different tools and you were right, that hammer is a mess. I think we can clean it up and make it pop though. Thanks for your visit and merry Christmas.
Well Doc it seems there's a possibility those side cutters are Rib Shears. The other ones do seem like they would be for piston rings or similar type of circlip/snap ring. I'm curious if the tapered end looks like it was cutoff too or that's the original shape of that end of the hammer or came to more of a point......Definitely looks modified, wondering if it started out as a body hammer of some sort.
Yes, it does sound like we’re thinking a lot alike. The short part of that hammer was mushroom so it has been used. We might find out more in the future but thank you so much for your visit and hope you have a merry Christmas.
I probably would not have known what that saw handle was and left it at the flea market. The bevel square seems a bit gimmicky to me. I suspect the original owner quickly realized it wasn’t as useful as he thought it would be. I’ve certainly bought my fair share of tools like that.
You may very well have a good point. I am glad I found that handle and I may do a video just on restoring that. Thanks so much for your visit to the channel and hope you have a very merry Christmas.
Nice haul. The square/bevel gauge looks like what I see in a bin at gas stations and grocery stores. Use to have a table at R&A Party Store in Coldwater marked Globe Master. The crosscut handle is a great find. To bad you don't have the mate I have a few saw vises. The first one I got the guy called it a picture frame vice. 😊 Not sure on the pliers. Might be vet tools? The cutters would be for reaching in to clip something in a tight space. The hammer head cobbled on a handle might be a handled punch but it doesn't look like any I have seen. We sometimes do with what we have . 😊 A lot of beatbip sdjustable wrenches will sttest to that. When all you have is a nail to rrive anything can be a hammer. Might not be a good one but sie la vie.
Yes, I’m not sure if that Square will be helpful or not. We’ll see. The vise is definitely not for picture frames.😄😄. I will definitely keep a lookout for another handle like the one I found, but I’m sure I can clean it up and fit it to one of the saws I have. As I mentioned on the video, I was wondering if those cutters weren’t used for animals somehow I just don’t have a clear understanding of its purpose yet. I sure appreciate you sharing your thoughts and hope you’ll feel free to stop by again. Have a very merry Christmas.
Item 3 is a one of either (a) a backing out punch or BOP and should be struck with a brass or copper hammer to drive out pins that hold two pieces together (such as a backhoe shovel to the arm) or (b) a tie plug punch for railroad work (but is a tad short and small for that) or (c) a round plug punch
Wow! You did find some interesting tools. Sorry, your guess is as good as mine on the hammer. I think your on the right track on the other 2 items. Have a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year!
Those are some of my best guesses too. Thanks so much for your visit and for sharing your thoughts. Always great to have you stop by and hope you have a great week.
Bonjour, Cela a du sens... Ce marteau a peut-être quelque chose à voir avec... les pieds de cheval. Passez une journée fantastique, une semaine merveilleuse et un joyeux Noël !
yes, I can do that. In fact, here is an entire video dedicated to that place. Jake's Antiques ua-cam.com/video/6HEV81i09mA/v-deo.html it includes hey, video of the front door with the address and phone number on it. It is in Marion Indiana. If you get a chance and you’re not live too far away, I think it’s worth it. Have a merry Christmas.
😄😄 that’s a really good guess. I suppose you could use it for that, I’ve used side cuts before. Thanks for your visit and hope you have a merry Christmas.

Very nice group of tools , old odd tools are a weakness of mine the story and history of why they made them is so Interesting

Another interesting tool find. I have never seen any of these. Thankyou. Merry Christmas to you and your family from Donna and I.
Thank you so much for coming by to visit me here in the shop. I hope you all have a very merry Christmas as well.
Great haul! 😊😊😊
Thank you. I hope you are doing well and that you and your family will have a merry Christmas.
Aren't you supposed to be vacuuming and dusting the dining room? Get those boots cleaned up before you lose phone privileges....again.
Merry Christmas! And Greetings from Finland! 🔧🔩🔨🪓🎅🏻👍🏻🇫🇮🌲
Thank you very much for the greetings from Finland! It’s great to know where people are at when they’re watching these videos. I hope you feel free to stop by anytime. Merry Christmas to you and have a great week.
Hey Hej Hey Finland!
My guesses seem right on with yours = Piston ring pliers, ferrier diagonal cutters , and Blacksmithing hole swedge
I guess great minds think alike, and so do ours🤣. Thanks for your visit and have a very merry Christmas.
Nice finds. I can't wait to see them cleaned up
Thank you. Come by again soon and I’m sure at some point they’ll end up on a video. Thanks so much for your visit to have a very merry Christmas.

no 2. just maybe a bonsai shears with the concave cutters and the long handles, some of mine look like that.
That’s great, thank you. I see, “bonsai”. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. Have a great day and merry Christmas.

Great video, i have no idea on the last three tools.
Thank you. Hopefully some of the other viewers will have some ideas. Thanks for coming by and hope you have a great week.
Nice haul. Your guesses were the same as mine. Do you ever use Google image search to try to identify these items?
Merry Christmas!
I never have use Google image search. I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for the advice and merry Christmas to you as well.

Your bevel has some extra features by unscrewing it and moving it to the other slots. Number 3 looks like a drift pin driver.
That all makes a lot of sense. Thanks so much for sharing and hope you have a great week. Come by again soon.
I have 2 sets of those weird long handled snippers...... i might try pulling nails with them.... see how that goes.
I really do like the tool, I just don’t know how I should use it. Thanks so much for sharing. Feel free to stop by again soon. Have a great week.
Can you share the name and address of the flea markets you go to I would love to visit them if they are within driving dii
yes, I can do that. In fact, here is an entire video dedicated to that place. Jake's Antiques ua-cam.com/video/6HEV81i09mA/v-deo.html it includes hey, video of the front door with the address and phone number on it. It is in Marion Indiana. Here’s another one, but it is an outdoor flea market. I don’t go to this one until spring. Strawtown Tool Hunt ua-cam.com/video/Vd9jW2XJUgY/v-deo.html
Number 2 is for really thick toenails 😂😂😂
😄😄 that’s a really good guess. I suppose you could use it for that, I’ve used side cuts before. Thanks for your visit and hope you have a merry Christmas.
@toolscouter
Merry Christmas to you as well!!!
german long handled snippers
Thank you. Did they have a specific use? Always great to have you stop by and I appreciate the information. I have a great week.
Tool #1 is an electric chainsaw blade remover. 👍
Really! I never would’ve guessed that. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. Merry Christmas and have a great week.
@ Sorry, I was only kidding. Hope you have a Merry Christmas as well. Love your channel. 👍
😳😄😄😄
