I want to clarify I'm not worried about negative comments- if I were I would have thrown in the towel after my 2015 Terrorizer magazine cover😂 I am addressing these particular comments because they concern me on a bigger, human scale. My last album "Spine" was written partly about these types of concerns with AI. The human mind slowly being rewired and broken by big tech and social media. Not being able to tell whats real or fake. Not actually knowing what a sunset looks like.
What will frustrate me in the near future is that many people are going to suspect that something real is AI, while many others will think that something made with AI is real. I'm already preparing myself for: "Oh, that's not a real New Zealand forest, that's just AI". I'm also preparing myself for the fact that what I can film by going out into nature, someone can make something that looks the same with AI. I guess it isn't even really AI that's the problem, it's people using AI and not being honest, just to make a fast dollar.
I saw that you actually tried to explain why that video was not shot on a greenscreen, but just in normal nature so thanks! Like I just explained on instagram to someone questioning how the light looked: Thats what a sunset looks like! Almost all my music and all my videos are about nature and shot in nature. Its my main focus. So why would I use a greenscreen all of a sudden? Have you seen my music video 'Ulvinde'? If you are watching my videos and comment that what I'm sharing is a fake green screen, I do think it says more about you. I dont know what is says, but it says something 😂

i think the backlighting from the sun and the angle from the video made it look like you weren't blending with the background maybe thats why he thought you were using a filter or green screen
Just looked again at the other video, and to be fair, I can see where they were coming from. Something between the lighting that was happening at the moment you filmed, as well as the way most digital videos look (from all choices cameras make, focus, color correction/interpretation, compression) reality can sometimes be made to look a little less real.
Greenscreen doesn't mean that the background has to be fake. For a second it looked like that for me too, had to look more carefully to see that you were actually there. Probably the lighting in the situation made you look detached from the background, thus making it look like a greenscreen.
I also asked myself when I saw the previous video wheather the background was fake because it was surreally beautiful. There was a certain mesmerizing stillness to the trees, and the path and the rays of light breaking through the treetops. However I was reassured when I saw the stream.
You're wonderful. Since my wife and I have had our kids we don't have nearly as much screen time as before and it has been wonderful. Today I plamted 3 blueberry and 2 raspberry bushes with my 3 year old son.
It is really just a normal forest with a nice stream and a beautiful golden sunset! And I guess samsung phones have good cameras since people are this shocked. and no i am not endorsed by them, i actually hate my phone

I was born in a big city and always thought of nature as something out there in the country side, never realizing that in doing so I was excluding myself from it. I’ve moved to the north of Spain 6 years ago to a very small village. There’s a beautiful forest behind my house. I love to walk there during the day and do it almost daily. One day I saw an interview with John Milius in which he talked about one of my favorite books Heart of Darkness and he said that there was something incredible about that journey into the jungle and that the jungle itself was a kind of primeval force to which one has to give himself. And as he himself did, I started going for walks at night by myself. Surrendering to my fear of that primeval force at first. But ultimately befriending it. Never have I felt so alive. I felt there, I felt a part of it. I was completely silent. Just becoming aware of everything around me. The moonlight through the trees, the smell of pines and oaks, the sounds of animals. I can’t really explain it but I wasn’t scared anymore. I was free. I realized that it wasn’t the forest I was afraid but my own thoughts. It changed my life. I feel nature in me. In my blood and in my flesh but also in my soul. Your love of nature is beautiful and pure. Keep it close to you.

Dear Myrkur, I do not know the posts you refer to but I guess it may be a missunderstanding. Maybe those persona do not mean the nature is fake but just that you were not there while singing ecording this from your former video. One can see sometimes disappear parts of your hair in the background and perspective and lighting is not 100% like in the nature behind you. So i guess is they refer to that. That leaving aside, beautiful location, it's pure magic. I've been to Denmark 4 weeks ago, you have some really nice places there! ❤ It all fits well together with your chant! Keep up that magic, i really enjoy!
I think it might have been more of an optical illusion than people questioning whether you'd actually be out in nature. When I saw the video, I also kind of wondered if it might be green screened. The reason I thought that was just because the background seems so in focus, and you seemed either equally in focus or slightly less in focus. I think in this case it might be because it was very bright out and therefore it was filmed at a high f-stop which gave a very large depth of field. When people do green screen, they often have backgrounds that are focused differently than when a person is in the frame in an actual equivalent shot. Anyway, that's the only reason I personally wondered, though I definitely didn't comment on that on your video. You live with beautiful surroundings!

I did think for a moment it looked like green screen (though I didn't comment on that). Then I figured it was not, but it was a weird impression. It felt like inconsistent lighting, like having too much clarity and front light while also having the sun in the back. I can only imagine it was something with how high quality your camera is.

This video looks greenscreened too. It's probably software in your camera, which is a phone, I guess, with multiple lenses and so it's showing the fireground and the background in focus which gives that effect. It's just bad taste (born of ignorance) on the part of the company who make the phone. The sound was also strange, not like you would expect to hear in a forest. So I understand why people didn't like it. The song was beautiful and the singing too.❤
When I create videos I always try and show my home state of Oklahoma or in some cases places I have visited on holiday. If I shot a video of me playing my flute it’s just me in nature. No green screen then again I’m not that good at editing my videos for such things. Have a great day.
