One of the best options vids I've found. I like how you don't just say "sell an vertical credit spread" or "buy a calendar" but you show how they are built one leg at a time, plus explaining decay to show WHY the risk profile graph looks like it does. Very helpful, thanks!
excellent overview of some pretty complex trades....theta, strangles and iron condors. thank you Sasha - been watching tastytrade for a year while scratching my head :-)
A nice view on options. Everyone along the way teach me something, but your style is much better, and clearer to understand. Thanks for this basic overlook on a powerful investing choice.
Great overview! Definitely will need to review this a few times until the concepts seep in. I have a few of your books and can definitely see myself queueing up for your options video tutorials when they are on the market. Thanks!
Sasha, very good and educational videos. You have proven how powerful calls and puts can be. One thing I have noticed is that, it seems to utilize these tools effectively, one would have to have very high margin or cash accounts. Besides that, Buying Power needs addressing, as well as (P/L).
Great video.Understanding how creativity and intuition can work hand and hand to position a trade in ones favor is a fundamental necessity in trading.Personally I stalk a stock into earnings placing calenders and diagonals the preceding two weeks.Being correct in direction on the first trade can lead to a risk. Free trade.Placing two butterflies one put and one call then leaving the outside wings a week out of the earnings week is a cheap way to acquire a position to trade from.
Great video. Finally we know a bit more about premium. But how to collect premium ? How to close contract with profit from premium or delta when you have calls and puts on one contract. Can you show this on think or swim?
I am a beginner on option trading. But this help me to explore other ways to do instead of single spread. I like the way of protection can be done. Will learn the best way slowly. 😊
Great video Sasha - looking forward to the full course! The thinkorswim platform for viewing the P&L graph w/ days to expiry is definitely one of the best free ones out there - makes me wish I had a TD account.
Hi Sasha, i love your videos and i like what you're doing. could you kindly make a video about binary options trading , because that was the only thing i found missing in your video collections :) thanks
thanks for taking the time to make this video for us sasha! i have one question. is it possible to use those different strategies like the iron condor. with index option (Europe option)?. and when I have profit from a iron condor. how do I collect it?
Good video sasha thank you i was wondering if stock is 200 and strike i buy call 199 do i make money right away? If stock is 200 and strike is 201 i only make money when stock starts to hit 201? Thank you
Great video !! I want to trade options of nifty50 index in India, can you please advise which software I should use if you have any students from India. I haven't found any software like the one you are using.
excellent clear teaching video on a complex subject. Hi Sasha I already trade calls and puts but interested in other strageties as suggested. What is your view about buying straddles before earnings release? I find the profit around earnings do not always cover losing leg. Welcome your thoughts. Thanks
+arupian666 thanks for helpful reply. It seems that there are only a few stocks where IV could be high during earnings, AAPL, cisco. I am considering switching from buying straddles to selling straddles during earnings, as it looks like there is a better potential profit as a seller. Welcome views. Regards
+Sunil Chothi also do you tend to sell options before earnings announcement or after? Yes I have learned hard way that IV means everything when trading earnings.
I hit a like button i am a newbie but i am interested in these techniques is it possible to do these with a small cash acct not with margin acct getting around with pdt u are very intelligent (NO BS) Mahalo from Hawaii
I like how you explain and put these topics into simple terms along with examples so that noobs like me can understand. I'm still gathering knowledge on investing. I have a question about strikes and their spreads. Lets use the AMAZON options for example at @5:38 As we can see, the stock is trading at $558.93. What I want to know is this: what would be the benefit of choosing a call (or a put) option that are further away from the mid-strike points. Say I wanted to BUY a call, why would I choose the 500 strike with the ASK price at 65.10 as opposed to the 550 with the ASK price at 28.40? What are the risks regarding each call?
+Sasha Evdakov (TradersFly) Hmmm...ok. So what you are saying is, if I BUY a CALL of "xyz" at the $10 strike price, ASK price at $2, and with Delta at .80, if the stock moves up 1 whole dollar, my gain would be .80 cents for every 1 whole dollar the stock moves up? My gain would be $2.80 per share ($2 initial ASK price + 0.80 Delta) out of 100 shares for 1 options contract? Basically, the Delta is what determines the ASK price/premium gains and NOT the actual amount the stock moves. And the reverse would happen for a PUT call, if my understanding is correct.
excellent excellent Video Sasha and always appreciate your hard work on these video. And it's great that you do this option video on the THINKORSWIM platform. It would be fantastic if one day you can do one video on the thinkorswim platform re some important useful features of the risk profile and trade analysis function....many thx. Keep up the great work
@@tradersflyofficial have you done a video on inflation and how it effects the market? I have to do a search in your yourtube videos to see if I can find the one that you did if you did one which Im sure you did. Need to post it in my chatroom where a lot of the other videos of your goes to the people in that room. Small group but small can grow big given time.
i love all your videos, but this option video was very confusing..maybe because im new to options and there was too much information lol.. in addition, using big loss amounts in the thousands - scared the crap out of me .lol i'm sure typically when a person is starting out with options, their risk is much less - in which made it hard to relate ..thanks sasha
I don't have an problems studying complex topics, but my question is - should I? In one of your other videos, you said that people jump around from stocks to options to penny stocks, etc and explained that they should stick to 1 thing and get good at it. I'm most comfortable with swing trading stocks, but am curious if I'm missing something by not utilizing options... Is it just clutter or it there really something in options that is extra ordinary and I may want to take advantage of one day possible in the future? To me trading options is similar to stocks, if it the ticker goes up - you make money. It just seems that options have all this additional complexity that may not be necessary. I like to keep my trading plan simple.. hmm
Thank you, I heard it mentioned after I posted the comment as well, sorry. I was wondering if you have any videos already that mentions how to calculate stop prices for options and exit prices as well.
Thank you Sasha, this was interesting to see the trades flipped quickly the difference it makes
you're very welcome 😊

What platform do you use?
the further out option has less time decay because it cost more to purchase, how do you make up for this??
Would it be correct to say that the trade is OTM when it dips below the green line? and the space between is ATM?
+Patrick Mcguire Maybe a little bit of a vague question with the directional thinking, but for the calendar for instance.
