Respect to a fellow Sun Ra disciple. Here are some of my personal favourite jazz records for your consideration:
    . Moondog (1969) by Moondog
. Night of The Purple Moon (1970) by Sun Ra
. War of The Gods (1973) by Billy Paul
. Elementary (1976) by Wah Wah Watson
. Death To The Planet (2017) by The Comet Is Coming
These are not all proper jazz, but they fall under the umbrella nonetheless. I take it jazz has been slow evolving, and so doesn't sound too alien to what has come out fifty years ago, so it might be a smoother transition than most genres to get into. One person I am looking into is saxophonist Kamasi Washington.

@@milesknightestrada3286 Moondog, because I’m interested in outsider and experimental music, and War of the Gods, because I collect albums from 1973.

Moondog is excellent, a nice blend of avant-garde and traditional classical. War of The Gods is in my top 5 favourite records of all time. Billy Paul is so much more than 'Me and Mrs. Jones', believe me.
