I absolutely love that the cows respected the “Time Out” the guy called out even though they were literally trying to kill the humans a few seconds ago
Excellent point; and possibly even a joke there. Like; the difference between vegetarians and vegans is: vegetarians make a good point, vegans are just patronizing.
The birds one reminds me of the Far Side comic, "How Birds See the World." And I fully agree with the old Coke ad slogan, "Can't Beat the Real Thing," although I will admit that Wild Cherry Pepsi is pretty good.
The main reason I don’t like Coke as much as Pepsi is because it usually feels like it’s making my lip stick to the front of my teeth; Pepsi doesn’t do that However, Cherry Pepsi is superior to all cola… this is fact I will concede though that Coke at McDonald’s is somehow perfect. I don’t know if they simply have the C2-to-syrup ratio set at a very specific setting or what, but McDonald’s Coke is just better with a little hint of extra sweetness Cherry Coke SHOULD be good, but it just cannot compare to Cherry Pepsi My dad used to like coke, but that’s not the coke that we’re talking about 🫤😶
How is v for vendetta problematic? From what i remember from the movie he was nothing but courteous to her. And held her captive only because he didn't want anyone to get any info on him. Im just confused with that one
Stockholm syndrome. Basically saying he kept her around until she started to like him. Not sure how accurate that is but that seems to be the punchline they are going for.
@Nexus Drop interesting 🤔 I re-watched the movie. If he had left her in the tv studio, they would have interrogated her, tortured her, and killed her without any reservation. That would have been it for Evey. It has a scene where " policemen" try to rape the protagonist, a news anchor who spits racist rhetoric, a totalitarian government that took away all the rights of its people, excessive censorship, falsification of information on major news networks, a perverted priest who screwed little kids, a gay person having to hide his taste for fear of being killed by his government, illegal experimentation on unwanted people ( gay people) It kind of sucks how so many of those things are honestly the reality of a lot of people in our world. One wishes that things could change for the better with just words and understanding but if anything I think the film has a very powerful message. Were his methods extreme? Yes Did those cops, in the beginning, deserve to die? No It wasn't torture for his sick twisted fantasy or his ego. He did it to liberate her mind from her prison. Mind you the torture he did was mild compared to what the agents in the government would have done to her. Its a powerful message. What we are willing to give up for what we believe is security. What can we believe from media and news? If anything i think the underlying message is more important than the method Like V said: you cant kill an idea, if enough people believe it and are behind it. Sorry for the long testament xD But thank you for your answer. If anything i wrote this more as an explanation for my thoughts to be read by other people who might stumble upon this same question.
The really problem is the whole "simulated prison incident" where he had her in a fake prison cell for God knows how long, shaved her head, and having her read notes from a dead prisoner past. The whole point of the exercise was to gaslight her into seeing his views. Whether he was kind or not there's a lot to be uncomfortable with there.
@Shane Parish you said it yourself. Simulated In the context of this story, it's no secret what would have happened to her if she had been caught for real. Tortured with electricity, injected with drugs, raped, and more. And then just killed unceremoniously behind the toolshed. V never did any of that? No Did v have to do that? No But considering the environment that spawned him, that robbed him of his face, of a future. It's honestly a miracle that he developed any kind of sympathy for other humans at all. And the government in the movie killed her parents and sent her to a facility to be raised up and taught their propaganda from a young age. She was scared and only hiding V l " simulated" prison helped her realize that she had nothing to fear except having her rights taken away, the ability to live as she wanted.
@@Srparisher I mean he wasn't gaslighting her to see the way he did. The prison was more of a way to cement the horrors that the government had long since covered up. It's like if you took a Soviet citizen and showed them the truth about the gulags in Siberia, the effects of the holodomor on Ukraine, and the slaughter of german POWs and civilians during the invasion of Berlin.
As for cats, I agree.. I have a cat at home myself and he is very lovable but he can be mean to the max... Sometimes his instinct turns on and in nature you win or lose, all tricks are allowed.. Such cuties :-))
My cat is actually extremely loving she gives cuddles and likes belly rubs. My previous cat gave kisses and hugs but he was unfortunately hit by a car.
I was with my best friend when I was around 17 and he introduced me to a cat named Ron. For whatever reason we were cruising around in his van and stopped to get gas. My friend ran inside and asked anyone if they wanted something Ron said grab me a coke, he came out with a Pepsi not thinking anything of it and the dude, Ron just completely wigged out. He started screaming to the point there was spit flying and he whipped the can into the back of the van so hard it burst open and started spraying everywhere. I just got out and walked away. Years later Ron ended up murdering some guy and hanged himself in his backyard. Totally true story
Know it wasn't meant this way, and I'm just that kind of person, but when I read "I was with my best friend when I was around 17 and he introduced me to a cat named Ron." I genuinely thought this guy had a pet cat called Ron. When it got to the gas station part and Ron asked for Coke, my brain took a stutterstep, as I asked myself, Wait, how could a cat ask for Coke? Lol. Took me a second there.
I think people forget that Anthony Michael Hall’s character didn’t even know he had sex until the girl told him. I mean I’m not sure if that changes the fact, but I’ve seen that movie since then and he never says anything about having sex, because he was so drunk he didn’t remember (which I was shocked too, because he didn’t seem that drunk). But then we have Breakfast Club, where Claire gets sexually violated by Bender when he hides under her desk, which later that have a kiss, which is not only messed by he assaulted her, but the fact her actress was 16 at that time and his actor was over 20. The actress even had to explain to her child that she wasn’t showing her undies in the scene, which is really messed up. I think it’s sad the questionable scene gets brought up more than the scene you can’t explain away.
I agree. Also they missed another obvious one in the number one example. Zoro. Dude literally cuts off the Princess' dress every time they're alone and she's just supposed to be happy to run off with him in the end? They're both more deserving than the Disney Prince imo.
@@morgantaylor84The Disney prince might be tame, but the older versions aren’t. Sleeping Beauty literally gets pregnant, gives birth to twins with the help of fairies…and one of the babies suckles the splinter out of her finger which is what actually wakes her up. Then, she has to marry the guy only to find her step-mother-in-law is an ogre who wants to eat her and her children. The prince definitely deserves to be in the sketch.
