I do the same thing I had an old washing machine I fixed up I needed to seal for the I guess the transmission, we used that thing for years and it worked great
Another save of some rusty crusty gold! Nice work Toocheap. Believe it or not, about 35 years ago we had a GE fan nearly identical to the one you fixed, this one too had reverse, but was push button operation. It wasn't working well so my dad pitched it to the curb. Me always being me grabbed it. I got it working again, removed the guts from the square surround and hung it above my work bench in the garage. Instant ceiling fan!😉. I had to rewire it so i could mount the control unit on the wall. Dad just shook his head in disbelief, LOL. btw, great meeting you at the Findlay Lake sled show. Looking forward to your next great video!
Got this same compressor. Put it on a old propane tank. Extreme custom made works like a champ. Believe it or not that pump is still made. Everything is on Grainger.
Great video man. Love to see the restoration of "junk" to see it run for more years. Way better than the new trash it and forget crap they make now.🙂 Take it easy man. Peace.😎
I’ve dealt with 2 older air compressors one was like the champion in the video but only 5 gallons. Tank cracked at the welds so it was junked. The second is a 90s 60 gallon sanborn that needed wiring and general setup. I need to find a way to get the factory 2” plugs out, I’d like to use them, but I have the 1/2 inch side in use and that’s good enough for almost anything.
Makes me wonder how old the one in the garage is that my dad picked up when I was a kid. They do run quiet compared to the new ones but I don't think he's ever inspected the inside of the tank.
Can you post picture of the model number and the "pump no" form the front section? I'm having difficulties identifying mine. Which look just like your!
It's a proper design with a mechanical unloaded and of industrial quality instead of the sorry disposable shit that's sold to consumers today. I hunt used industrial compressors to add to my system which is plumbed with red air hose (3/4" ID in my case) and Chicago couplings instead of pipe. Quick, easy, rugged and easy to rearrange. It does pay to borescope the tanks!
Clearly not made in china. that's when we made good stuff that was meant to last and did. Thanks for saving some more well built iron. Motivating me on a Monday morning. Osha approved LOL
what horse power motor does your compressor use? I have something similar that I just picked up. but seems to fill very slowly. I guess I should look into a pulley swap.

Definitely a case of "those who have to ask don't get it". Awesome vid, man. Saving cool old stuff is sadly becoming a lost art.
Awesome to see more junk come back to life. I love the sound of those old air compressors, soothing shop background noise.
For sure, it's so nice being able to talk while the compressor is running, and it just sounds "solid"
My day just got better. Thanks
Nice, haha
I’m tweaked! One of my most favorite channels and UA-cam is too busy spreading the love! I checked, and BAM new video!!!

Great video! I have an old single cylinder compressor in the garage that needs to be put back into action. Thanks for the motivation.
Nice, now don't forget about it!! lol

Haha, thanks man, good to meet you too. Once you get used to getting free "trash" items running again it's hard to pay for new junk!

Those compressers are the shit nice and quiet and air for days.
Definitely!

Yeah, 1/2" should take care of most stuff.
I like sleds and atv and dirt bike vids, keep up the good work bud
Thanks, got an update of the '02 T-cat coming at some point
@@toocheaptosmoke how much for that old Suzuki lt 250 quad runner from one of the other older videos

I would be scared i was building a bomb 😂 nice work.
I did look inside the tank, the rust wasn't terrible, but something to certainly keep an eye on!
It sounds heavy duty
Hell ya bruther
So after two years hows it going ?
She's still chugging. 👍

Not sure what this one is, no markings on motor. Would guess 3/4 - 1 hp though.
I like the way you think
