Yeah, we should try and turn animals into something that benefits us, instead of letting them be themselves. Rabbits are already paying a terrible price for such attitudes, lop eared rabbits like smudge are extremely prone to ear infections and dental issues.
@@Bork_Cruk and the way loads of them are kept is so unnatural just because it fits our lifestyle better (sterile homes, no digging, single buns, only pellets and hay...) :(
@mari Any time you are trying to select for particular traits, you are narrowing the gene pool. Lops suffer because they have lop ears, which is an inherent health issue. As are shorter faces. Of course you take a "better" approach to breeding. But as you say, the best thing would be to breed to an unrelated rabbit. What rabbit would be most unrelated? One of a totally different breed. That would broaden the gene pool, whereas trying to maintain particular traits inherently narrows it. It should be enough of a privilege to care for a rabbit and give it love, regardless of how cuddly, cute, obedient, etc. it is. Animals should not be consumer products.
@@mw-cy1zf Correct. Unfortunately it is better for rabbit health to be kept inside because in many countries now introduced diseases that are carried by mosquitoes and other vectors can kill them. Rabbits can live happily indoors, but it's a lot more work to provide them with an adequate environment where they can dig and chew and run. And as you say, they should have a rabbit companion! Some rabbits are better alone (just won't bond with any other rabbits), but most are much happier when bonded. I think hay is good, pellets are unnecessary unless the rabbit is losing weight. And fresh grass is superior to the leafy greens that humans eat.
My american fuzzy lop, Totoro, is super affectionate, as much as Smudge appears to be. He free roams my home, sleeps in my bed, uses the litter box, and is a great pet. Rabbits are great companions if you give them a chance. They are a lot like cats though, very independent but snuggly if they trust you.

As someone who has owned rabbits.. I prefer them over cats and dogs:) I love cats and dogs, but rabbits can really make their way to your heart
She is not only cute but has a wonderful personality
Absolutely stinking adorable, I had a rabbit just like this with the long loop ears so precious I miss my rabbit so much. I wish I could get another one, but my daughter is allergic, y'all are so blessed to have her she's amazing.
Laptop cords ??!!!!! Mine too 🤣 Love from France 🕊
She is BEAUTIFUL!!! Always love her and treat her with love and respect her!!! Joannie I love her already!!
Man the cage though like dude... You said it yourself she's well trained!! Love her though
Who wouldn't love this beautiful , fluffy baby?! So cute!!
The moment u realise u turned into the guy who takes his pet everywhere
You are so very fortunate to have Smudge. God Bless You!
Imagine smudge and pipkin meeting 🥰🥰🥰🥰
and bini
Until recently seeing some videos of pet rabbits I didn't realize what a sweet pet they make. So sweet.
Pepper in the background eating carrots like her little buddy 🤗
Could not stop aww'ing during this video, Smudge is an absolute darling! 🥰
My rabbit can never be chill like this for more than 2 seconds
Soo adorable What a wonderful bunny ! Rabbits are the best ! Thanks for sharing!!
He looks so fluffy....
I can't get over about how adorable smudge is she is so precious
I have the same bunny and she is just like a dog too Amd she so well trained without a leash and goes everywhere with me
This is how all pets should be treated !!! Also I bets the owner gets a lot attention when they out together.
Nice to see that my rabbit isn't the only one with a habit of biting chargers!
My wild born cat (avatar) does it too...and my wooden coat toggles.
It’s the chewiness ~ especially the expensive cords ~ it’s like a babybel to them 😂
@@victoriasmees5625 i think thats it - she does like to 'feel' things with her teeth. She sort of holds and presses around them then squeezes a bit if it feels nice, like the wood must! For some reason though, it's always the small phone end on the charging cord, not the larger usb plug end.
yeeeeeah my rabbit bit a lot of charges for my iphone and recently i bought another charge for my laptop (
@Peaches chewing can also be a sign of boredom- single bums chew way more and destroy more than bonded pairs (at least from my experience)
Génial et adorable !
My lollipop is exactly the same, she’s one with the dogs, sences when I’m sad and will come and comfort me.
i think my rabbit hates me for sure lol because i hug her every singal day about 100 times lol
that rabbit licking its carers is all I need to see to know that rabbit is content and truly loves them
when a rabbit grooms you by licking, you've made it !
Oh good to know! I had the sweetest little bun child who would lick us anytime he could, but he also would climb up and lick my entire face. ...Disgusting, but absolutely adorable.
@@CharlottevdVeen
grooming/licking is a bunny's way of saying they love you...they usually do it each other, frequently mutual grooming
to have a bunny lick you uncontrollably is a sign you are truly blessed...they love you unconditionally
@@kwanchan6745 Awwwww. I love bunnies so much lmao. He's been dead unfortunately though, for ...almost 3yrs now (sheesh), but I still miss him a lot, hahah.
But he was special, even people who didn't like bunnies that visited liked this lil dude. :P
(I guess people always say that about their kids/pets though *shrugs*)
The ceo of cuteness
We also had a mini lop that was fund of computer wires along with the phone cord. He was taught to not go in the office. If he saw one of us in the office he'd sit in the doorway and watch. He even liked to ride in my big truck. On the bunk. He had toys but seemed to like my keys the most. And he loved to be petted and brushed. He was a real joy to be around.
Preserve its genes! We need to transfer its hereditary traits and a make a generation of more-docile bunnies XD

Lovely. Bunnies are very special animals and perfect pets.
She is b e a u t i f u l !
Title: meet smudge
Me: *googles tickets to Australia* if you insist
"She likes macbook chargers"
Me- "Well mine likes wifi cables..."
Rabbits are adorable, whats not to love about them. Beautiful little balls of fluff ❤️💛💚🧡💜💙🐾
My rabbit when I give him fruits and vegetables: no >:(
My rabbit when he sees laptop cords: delicious, finally some good food
If I could die of an overdose of cuteness, I'd be dead by now.
One of the cutest rabbits too
Adorable. You treat your bunny wonderfully.
Smudge is so cute
Awwwww beautiful bunnikins, love you, what an absolute darling! ♥️⭐️
Bunny be like: jus feed me fam
Darling adorable bunny! 🥰 Glad she is so loved.
Dont worry mines seem to have a preference for all my apple device charges... took me 5 iphone chargers and 2 macbook chargers to come up with a plan haha
Dont ever shut em out !! You're thier new family...and they want nothing more than to be wiv you...but on thier level at first...get down on the floor hoomin ..and know your Bunny...Then the magic starts to happen...A Bunny is all about filling your life with Love xx
Smudge the rabbit not to be confused with Smudge the cat
Loved the pic of Smudge among the stuffed (toy) rabbits....I think most of us would have been fooled (assumed they were all stuffed) had we not known....
I need a bun bun ❤️ 🐰
She is most BEAUTIFUL!! 😍😍
SHE IS SO SMART AND SO WELL TAKEN CARE OF!!!😘💓💞💓
I hate how they said 'is more like a puppy than a bunny' because often puppies are less well behaved than rabbits. Also he wasnt holding her the right way mist of the time😭 anyway I'm still glad shes free roam
The fact you can bring smudge eveywhere good for her mental health 👌🏾 they love company
My bunny not even let me pick him up 😢
Thanks for sharing !
This is a very cute bunny, I follow smudge's Instagram page.
What’s their Instagram? I wanna follow them.
So cute! Rabbits are usually not on my attention radar, but this one is gorgeous.
“she’s so well trained she acts like a puppy more than a rabbit” rabbits are social animals who loved to be loved. stop pushing rabbits to be anything other than themselves and just take the time to learn more about them and how to interact with them properly
She is so adorable! I love lop bunnies. The "dumb animal" myth is the same with guinea pigs. We couldn't get a dog either because of the landlord, so we got guinea pigs, and like rabbits they sooo much more than people realise. So much personality, intelligence and my guinea pig Mimi loves giving me cuddles and kisses too!
