I know people give Antony Starr his props and rightfully so, but damn, deep steals every scene he is in. Especially when you realize chase Crawford, isn't like that at all. Him being scared and confused, and arrogant all at the same time is so hilarious, it's crazy.
Most of the scenes that deep is in are the D-plot of the season... Season 4 is definitely the worst example of it. Feel free to like the actor, but the character is just padding to fill up the run-time for the episode. He's comedy relief at best. Chase Crawford is cool, but I'd rather watch Frenchie's predictable romantic sub-plot than watch a guy cheat on his octopus-girlfriend with an arrogant nerd.
Deep is good, but you can't compare to Starr's Homelander. Just another level. I struggle to think of actors that suit roles better. And I watched Banshee, Starr was fine. But as Homelander? Just unreal.
Or just watch The Boys. Some of us got bored with Banshee, tried liking it, but even Anthony couldn't save the show enough to keep me watching, now The Boys on the other hand grabbed my attention immediately and been a fan since. No disrespect to Banshee, but his acting in that vs The Boys is leaps and bounds in difference, also The Boys came out later, meaning he acted longer and mastered his craft. Time equals experience, and Homelander is the peak of acting for him, he plays such a believable villain, can't say that for alot of films, and or series these days.
This video is funny once you know he got arrested in Spain recently for beating the hell out of a cook and threatened his life. I love him as an actor though seems like a cool dude too
It was a drunken altercation with a fellow patron at the establishment. The other guy just happened to be a chef but wasn't working at the time since he was also visiting from out of town. No, Antony did not attack a waiter/cook/service crew/woman (I've seen people retelling the story with all of these, it's crazy!) The incident was amicably resolved and he's managed to stay out of trouble since then. Both parties moved on ages ago and so should everyone else. And stop spreading fake news.
After the first few Ep. of Season 1, I bought online a Homelander t-shirt. No other tv character made me want to do that. Loved him in Banshee as well. A great actor!

I think a bunch of the actors/actresses do phenomenal jobs with their character. Homelander is the perfect “asshole Superman” Deep is a great ass-kissing side kick Urban just KILLS it as Butcher I wasn’t really a fan with the change of Noir, but I’ve come around after a couple of episodes. I actually kind of enjoy the contrast between season 1 Noir and Season 2.
I buy that. I think if someone was like Homelander in real life, they would have a hard time playing the character of Homelander the way Starr plays him.
He’s a legend to me I don’t care about awards, Homelander is one of the best character ever played and it’s Anthony Starr who plays him so brilliantly. I couldn’t care less what a hollywood critics opinion is. I dont get why we put so much value on some one else option on art?

Actually like Antony said I think almost every major character had a great actor behind them- I think that’s partly why it’s such a great show
