- With the new Kailash Mansarovar Route being opened in Uttrakhand , the total distance will reduce drastically from Delhi. The new route goes through the Himalyas via Dharchula, Tawaghat and then Gunji and Lipulekh pass . We could not go all the way because of the road work. This holy pilgrimage can very well be a offroading dream road trip. The route goes parallel to the India Nepal border and was the reason of the India Nepal border dispute as well.

@@BLUEROSESs that is illegally encroached land belonging to Nepal. In order to claim the area Indian Army made a false stream hewn out of Lipu Tributary and named it Kali river to confuse the world. Same Sarada River way above is called the Mahakali River which has source in Limpiadhura. There is a Tanakpur Dam built on the Mahakali River built
with agreement of both the countries India and Nepal. Similarly there is also a Sarada Dam. If that region belonged to India why was Nepal involved in signing the agreement ? The fact is that It was necessary to involve Nepal in signing the agreement because both these dams were built on Mahakali/Sarada River whose eastern side of land belonged yo Nepal. And both these rivers and dams are on the northwest of Kalapani where Nepal permitted to have Indian army post temporarily at the request of Nehru after China defeated India in 1962 war. But Indian army is now illegally claiming ownership of the region which Nepal has objected.

There is a road already via Sikkim, but thats a really long journey. This will be a much easier route for us North Indians 😊

If you are planning solo trip Then
Day 1 - Haldwani to Dharchula ( approx 9-10 hour drive )
Day 2 - medical checkup and paper work
Day 3 - dharchula to Gunji/ nabi ( you get home stays over there
Day 4 - gunji to kalapani, om parvat and back to gunji or nabi or Kuti
Day 5 - gunji/nabi/Kuti to jonglingkong ( Adi Kailash view point and back
* for personal vehicle 4*4 is mandatory from dharchula bcoz roads are not that much good/ muddy, sluggish

Nepal had control over limpidhura , kalapani and lipulekh for 146 years but with the defeat of 1962 war with china, in a friendly gesture of government of india request , Nepal allowed to put indian soldiers temporary in kalapani but india occupies this land since 1962.
Nepal has done cesus and local people have cast votes and have paid taxes before 1962.
It is Indians interest to sit on the table and sort out the problem with 🇳🇵. We are friendly country.
Do not make fake Kali temple,fake kali river and claim Nepal territory.

bhai we were at dharchula on 2nd april and our uttrakhand trip was between 27 march to 3 april... the views which were not visible from various points due to smog created by the widespread jungle fires this year.. that was the only low point of the trip. we werent able to see the majestic views of nanda devi and trisul laden with ice... AFSOOS...
