I am so happy I am not the only person who cried at this song :D But I think isabela had the biggest growth in the movie.
I smiled throughout this whole thing while watching it in theaters! I starting liking her when she first made an appearence now that she has a duet song with Mirabel makes me love her more and this song is my number 1 favorite! The first two being "Waiting on a Miracle" and "Surface Pressure!"

Finally someone who cried in this song. I thought I was the only one😭😭😭😭 Especially when Isa says she's changing minds and Mirabel says "you've changed mine". I sobbed 'cause how beautiful it was. It was that feeling of mission accomplished, it perfectly closed the Isa-Mirabel arc, with Mirabel realizing how she was seeing Isabela the wrong way

This is such a tribute to the LGBTQIA+ Community. Which brings me to the theory that maybe, Isabela is asexual. She doesn't want to marry Mariano - perhaps she doesn't really want to get married at all. But she was forced to do the deed because it's "for the family".
In the deleted scenes, she had a boyfriend that she was really in love with and made out with in secret. But she agrees to marry the man Abuelo picks. And that’s why she was so mean to Mirabel because Mirabel tattles on her. So I don’t think she asexual, however, being denied the right to love the person you want by community or family is definitely a tribute.
