- It's time for some virtual wanderlust. Lets travel 5,000 years back in time to a mysterious and spiritual place. In this video, we are in ancient Egypt to explore the ancient Egyptian polytheistic religion and discover the most popular deities in history. You may have seen the gods in history books or in the temples, but do you know who they are and what they symbolize?
Ancient Egypt had more than 2,000 gods, but there are a few that you will find reoccurring throughout the temples. Anubis, Ra, Hathor, Osiris, Sobek, and Horus are a few of the many gods and goddesses are depicted as half man half animal and revered by the people for nearly 3,000 years.

There is a fascinating and beautiful new book titled "Sacred Deities of Ancient Egypt" which documents in amazing stories and rich photographs, the gods and goddesses of Ancient Egypt. Many of the tombs of these deities have rarely been seen by westerners. The book is available at: @t
My ancestors did not believe in deity's nor was there a multiple God's, this is far fetched from the jump, only if you over stood.
That is not true the Greeks, the romans, the celts, and the Gauls or Germanic people also Egyptians all believed in essentially the same gods with different names. And certain point in Greco-Roman history when Rome ruled Egypt they started mixing the two pantheons together to have hybrid gods to make controlling people easier.
There is a beautiful new book titled "Sacred Deities of Ancient Egypt" which is filled with rich, detailed photographs of the actual tombs and hieroglyphics and featuring fascinating stories about these gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt.
