I mean…water isn’t all that expensive. If I was a woman, alone, I would rather watch him use my hose than make an issue of it. I don’t think I’d call police, unless someone did something intentionally menacing, or malicious. If it wasn’t a case of someone who had the wrong house, that guy could have been mentally ill or had a substance use disorder, and police aren’t always the best educated about those conditions. I wouldn’t want him to get shot, over it, if he was harmless. I say he “could have” been mentally ill, because I’ve met some people who just have no home training. I gave a key to my best friend, of several years, in case there was an emergency (I had good reason to think there might be, but that’s another story), when she moved into my building. I knew her well, and trusted her. Then, one day, I didn’t know why I couldn’t find any of the OTC medicine I took, daily, for allergies. I can get serious asthma attacks, if I forget to take it, or run out before payday. Later, I was talking to my friend, and she said, “Oh, by the way, I stole all your cold medicine, earlier. I’ve got a really bad cold.”! I asked; “You let yourself in, when I was gone?” She said, “Yeah, I figured you wouldn’t mind.” I mean, I had borrowed stuff from her before, but I asked her, first, and came by when she was home. I was just flabbergasted that she would not only let herself in, but take ALL of my cold/allergy medicine…Benadryl, Allegra, Sudafed, NyQuil.. I mean, why not a few blister packs of each, until I got home and she could ask me if I had more I could spare? I didn’t say much more about it, because I like to think before I say anything, when I’m angry. When I thought about it, I realized that she probably didn’t realize there are people who need these medicines every day, and not just when they have a cold, nor did she know I could barely afford to buy them every month, when I (predictably) run out, since I do need them EVERY DAY. Therefore, she didn’t know she had potentially put my life in danger, because I didn’t have the money to replace them right away, and my allergic asthma is bad. She didn’t really believe she stole it…she thought it was extra, since I didn’t have a cold. So I just asked someone for a loan, bought more medicine, and asked her to please return anything she didn’t use, when she got better. I, also, let her know I needed her to ask, next time, and told her I have to take those meds daily & why. That’s why you don’t let yourself into someone’s home (or yard) and take things from them, without asking first. She had, otherwise, been an amazing friend, and has always asked, before borrowing anything, ever since. We are really good friends, to this day. I count her as one of my best friends, in life. She helped my family get through some really rough times! If it had been me with the drums, probably would’ve said I wasn’t able to meet about the drums today, after all, and just been “unable” to reschedule, until/unless my husband had time to meet with the strange guy, himself. If someone has no boundaries in your yard, who knows what they will do if you let them into your house. To be fair, the woman in the story didn’t actually let him in. I like to think I would have checked, to make sure the doors were locked, if I saw someone in my yard using my stuff, but if my husband had never forgotten to lock it before, I might not have. I don’t think the author was stupid (if this is a true story). It’s so strange, it rings true to me, so either this happened, or it was an odd piece of fiction!
I guess that’s pretty representative of the U.S. population. Studies have shown most people don’t get enough sleep. 🤷♀️ . Good question! The guy who came to buy the drums, in the first story had dark circles under his eyes, I noticed. Maybe the animators were going for a drug addled appearance.
I recently learned that police precincts have spaces set aside where people can meet for online sales. You can also advise the police of the meeting details in case things go wrong. There are cameras surveillance the place, too.
Story number 1 really just made me mad… why you giving this man the benefit of the doubt? She literally sat there for forever letting him do what he wanted
Why don’t people make sure their door is always locked, I keep checking throughout the day, hopefully they learned their lesson and keep their doors locked
In case you havent noticed, sometimes calls don’t go through. I’ve called my mom before multiple times and she wouldn’t answer. Id get mad at her but she’d tell me i never called. I look at her phone to see that there are no missed calls from me. Guessing wherever she was the calls weren’t going through.
Even if he didn't get the missed calls, the fact that he knew his wife was going to meet a random man at their home should have been motivating enough to call her on his way home to make sure everything was ok.
@@mixmediachild2910 yeah that's exactly how people get killed by just standing there not doing anything. How people can be complacent in watching people screw with their stuff and being creepy as hell is beyond me

I think the horror story on the first one was selling your drum kit 😢 Never tell the sellers where you live or meet them at your house that just screams Rob or murder me
Story 1: She should have checked if the door was locked and called the police as soon as that creepy guy showed up Story 2: Smart for calling the police and always lock your doors Story 3: Tim is a scammer
I've had some weird experiences of fb marketplace but the first story makes them seem normal. I had an older man come look at a dirt bike I had for sale a while back. He asked all the usual questions and then asked if I could ride it around the block while he hung on from the back. Mind you, this was a Honda CRF 70 and i am 6'0 so i didn't even fit on the bike. I thought he was joking, but he was dead serious. He ended up buying it for the asking price even though i refused his request. We then saw him drive by my house 3 times over the next week at odd hours of the day. Never messaged me back when I sent him a screenshot of his truck that we caught on camera. He just stopped showing up.
I would have called the police as soon as I saw a random man standing in my yard, but she decided to just watch him wash his car, use the hose and pick the plants.
I sell on Facebook marketplace a lot. The best thing to do when selling is to either meet in a public place (not too far away from your house but far enough that they wouldn’t know where you live) or if you’re gonna have them come to your house, at least bring what you’re selling outside to meet them, or just leave it on your porch and have them leave money outside
Thank you! My guy asked me to sell something of his online, like that. I still felt like a jerk, to this day, for telling him I wasn’t comfortable doing that. Thanks for helping me see who was being, at least, a little unimaginative about what could happen…particularly, since he was selling a car. They would probably ask to test drive it, and I would have felt I had to go along, or they could just make off with the car. However, if I went with someone to test drive it, they could leave me in a ditch and make off with the car. Or leave the car, too, if auto theft was not their motive. My partner was out of town for work, when he asked me to sell it. A stranger could be anyone, and I have seen enough, “Craig’s List Horror Stories” videos to not want to find out!
Women have no accountability as usual. Can't you think for yourself. If you don't feel safe then don't meet the guy to sell it. Tell your husband to sell his own stuff. Women always looking to divorce for the dumbest reasons. Just don't get married.
@D1Krshout the thought should have never crossed his mind in the first place. My husband doesn't even allow the maintenance workers around me. Anything that requires contact with unfamiliar males at home, he deals with it.
I let people use my water hose to wash hands or fill a container but not wash a whole car 🤣 that lady has more patience than me. At least give me $5 if you're gonna do a car wash lol
SERIOUS QUESTION: Why do scammers on social media always ask you to send a friend request/DM? Does anyone know why they are unable to send it first?...🤔🤔
I was thinking that there's no way Mort thought story#1 was a horror story. "Met a weird guy on the internet who creeper me out but didn't really do anything" is completely believable but not much of a story.
I'm sorry Mort, but when Ryan was just walking through the house after 40 mins of telling his life story... after letting himself in the house... after washing his car... after stealing pieces of the plants and this lady did nothing....I had to turn it off because no one is that stupid. If I were her husband, I'll be divorcing her for even suggesting that I sell my priced possessions, let alone something with so much sentimental value.
Guy in the first story seems harmless. He showed up early, picked some herbs and drank some water to kill some time and take advantage of the resources around him, called to ask to move the time up earlier cuz he didn’t wanna say he was already there (probably cuz he was embarrassed or anxious, who knows). Dude was odd for sure, but didn’t seem like a danger…

ALWAYS MEET IN A PUBLIC PLACE WITH LOTS OF PEOPLE AND CAMERAS
Meet at a publi space for the TV, the car or the drums?
Yeah, with a drum set or a TV. How convenient it is.

Yeah same ! I would never go into the shower with the door unlocked either , feel like you’re too vulnerable then
sounds like ryan was having a manic episode
First story 😂I thought bro was coming to look at the drums how did he end up washing his car
😂😅 asking the same question
Not only that he took their herbs and vegetables. I'd be pissed
Dude water must have got cut off. He really took advantage of the free water. Surprised he ain't take a shower.
