Fitbit has a shoddy charger design. The same pin is recessing with every new cord. Fitbit won't replace it but will give you a 35% discount
The bottom left? That has been our experience with four leads so far. I wonder if the pin gets gummed up rather than the spring not functioning? If that pin caries the charge current, then its spring might get hot and become soft (lose it's springiness).
We been played stupid
Thank you for showing all the options of how to charge the Fitbit Sense!! Easy, simple and it worked!!👍
Thank you so much. This Fitbit has never charged well from the beginning. Doing the changing outlet plug USB and alcohol worked. I did both was inpatient lol
Thank you very much for showing all the options of how to charge the Fitbit Sense. Thank you :)
Thank you! It worked! Your instructions were easy to follow!
The rubbing alcohol worked for me! I actually bought a new Fitbit because it would not charge properly. Then this Fitbit started doing the same thing. I knew I was doing something wrong. Thank you for the advice.
Worked like a charm fir the Sense, the tip about the Q-tip and the alcohol did the trick!
Took about 6-8 tries both methods- kept going to Find Phone screen- but finally it restarted! Thanks!
Thank you! It was driving me crazy 'til I saw your video. It was fixed when I rubbed the back of the watch. Thanks again!
Awesome I just had this problem this morning. Thanks
Your fixes worked...Thank you so much for your expertise! 😊
Thanks. Your first trick worked for me. Thanks. I was contemplating contacting Fitbit for the issue as it just wouldn't charge. Thanks again.
I really thought my fitbit got broken, couldn't use it for months and almost buy the new one. Thanks to you I could save my money because this actually works! You're the best 👍🤑
Which one worked for you?
I wouldn't get too excited. Trust me, the problem is chronic and cannot be fixed, long term.
Thank you for showing all the options of how to charge the Fitbit Sense. Mine is now back working 👍..............
Thanks, step 3 seemed to work.
Thanks mine working after following your instruction, thanks
yay.. thanks for the tips, worked for my sense.
Thanks for making this video. My Fitbit Sense is charging again!
Nice info for the Fitbit Sense users.👍
Thank you. I just got this sense brand new from work. I wore it and the battery went to zero and I couldn’t get it to charge or turn on. Your tip got it to turn on. How do I get it to not talk to my phone all day and wear down the battery?
Yay! Worked on my Fitbit Versa 3 after not doing anything for an entire day. It was a complete black screen. Thanks!!
I was hoping one of these steps would help but none of them worked. However, during the alcohol step, I noticed one of the pins on the charger was stuck and isn’t making contact. I’ve ordered a new charger so hopefully I’ll be up and running soon. Thanks for all tips.
hi this is what happend to me ...1pin is stuck hope to get a new charger
This happened to me too. I went thru the fit bit app and clicked support. Live chat 24/7 . I told them what happened with one pin and they are sending me a new charger for free... they were very friendly and eager to help.
It's a design defect. Happened to me twice now. Luckily they have been providing new charging cables for free. They're probably worried about a class action lawsuit if they don't.
It works. Thank you!!
Thanks so much !
Alcohol clean done the trick for my Fitbit Sense
Thanks for sharing this! Cleaning with alcohol fixed mine 😀
Thank you! The alcohol did the trick! 😊 You made my day.
Thank you! The alcohol worked for me
After a week of being frustrated that it wouldn’t charge. The alcohol worked!!!’ Thx!
Thanks so much. This worked for me.
Thank you very much!!!
It worked Thank you!
Thanks the first option worked for me. When it finally booted up the battery was at 100% too 🧐
It worked!!! Thank you so much!!!!!
Thank you!!!
Mine just says 0%. Just ordered 2 new chargers just to make sure is not the charger even tho my charger never moves and I’ve only had the watch for 3 months normal wear for work and gym. No swimming or shower with it. Sucks to spend this much money and it starts messing up haha
Same here bro.. Big disappointment with fitbit. I was a hardcore fan since charge 1 but after google bought fitbit, everything changed. Maybe they bought fitbit in order to just eliminate the company..
Same with my fitbit just says 0% and still won't charge...guess I'll have to buy another charger idk 😐
@@rokitasharpe1657 check the pins on the charger. They go bad very very often. If one of them stays down and doesn’t spring back it’s not working and you will need to replace it
was anyone able to fit theirs when it says 0% and wont charge. I only have this less than a month and now its useful
was anyone able to fit theirs when it says 0% and wont charge. I only have this less than a month and now its useful
Thanks for the tips god bless🙏
I have a brand new Fit Sense, it went dead after a few days. I was gonna send it back till I saw your Fixes. Alcohol done it, your the best, thanks.
There are 4 contacts in the back of the watch which mate with the charger; make sure they are all clean. I had to lightly scrape gunk from one of my contacts with a precision screwdriver to get my sense charging again. All four contacts should look the same (silver colored metal orbs).
I would be nervous using a steel screwdriver bit. I use wooden cotton pads and sharpen the end, and use that along with alcohol. If you have an iPhone, its Magnifier app shows how clogged with grim those contacts can get.
Thanks a million i used alcohol now its charging its work my fitbit sense thank you so much big help this video God Bless
Alcohol worked for me. Thank you. 😊
Thanks!
Thank you
Good solution 👍
The pins on my charger have been breaking off for some reason? Im on my 3rd charger for some reason? Any ideas, tips.
What fitbit watches does this work on?
thanks 🙏
2:36 No !! That dirties the pins and pushes them in! But do try gently feeling it to check for pins not sticking out. That was my issue - the spring inside was weak or broken, didn't push the pin out enough.
Did you find a fix? Mine has the same issue
I saw only fitbit logo but not charging . I bought new charger but also not working . Many time tryid .
The alcohol and Q-tip trick also work on original Nintendo game cartridges.
Thanks, I thought it should light up immediately.. When I waited 5 min, It started charging.. Thanks!
The problem my wife and I have had are with the charge cables. The bottom left pin loses it's spring loading and remains depressed so it won't make contact with the phone's contact pad. I must admit we have never tried cleaning the lead, so I'll give that a go. We have gone through four cables so far, and have two more on their way, so it's an annoying situation, and works out expensive. My wife was talking about Apple watches the other day, so it might be that we cut our loses and move on.
Bottom left pin!!! Same here!
I struggled with buying 3 different vendor versions of the charging cable. Each worked for less than a month. I tried the cleaning steps and it helped for a couple of months. I'm DONE with any more Fitbit products. If they had any concern for the shoddy system they created, they'd retool and create a workable, lasting means of charging this thing. They sell so many different types they seem to have just written this one off as a bad job and said screw the consumers who trusted them. NEVER AGAIN...
Thanks for this comment. On mine, only have 3 pins sticking out. Wasn't sure if that how it's supposed to be or not. I can't get that pin to pop out. I've been a very long-time user of Fitbit but I'm thinking of moving on too.
Yeah man if you do a deep dive online like I have, you will see it is the same damn contact on every one of these situations. So many of us trying to figure out how to charge the Sense without buying more cables. It's the same pin every time too. Bottom left if the cable is coming out on the right side. Fitbit definitely knows about it and does nothing other than send a few cables. That's only if you bought it new in store and have proof and only for a year. After that you're on your own. It's a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. Recall this POS design Fitbit! @@GaryBlouin
I had to clean the back of mine with a toothbrush dabbed on a bar of soap. The tiny indents where the 4 charging pins make contact were filled with grime. Fixed the problem of not charging. I’m still not sure why it only charged ti 99% 🤷♂️
It workeddddd!!!!
Had to use my laptop to charge.
Not sure why but it wouldn't charge from my xbox after fully dying. Even though I've been charging mostly from my xbox since I bought it 6 months ago. So yeah... try your computer or laptop if your having the same issue as I had.
Video helped alot THANKS!
Mine stopped working again. I've all the ideas from this video. Do you have any other ideas?
My Fitbit sense still won’t work. It doesn’t vibrate either and I’ve been charging it for a long time and tried different outlets and charger heads too. Doesn’t work. Please help.
Have u tried a diff charging cable?
After rubbing alcohol, I connected the charger and 0% battery came on screen. it was completely dead before. I hope it will actually charge, but it's a step forward. Many thanks
Is there anything I can do to charge my Fitbit watch if I don't have it anymore...
Come again? You want to charge your watch that you no longer have? That's odd. I think you may be having a different kind of problem there bro. 😂😳 You ok?
Well I've had two chargers with the sunken pin problem so I went and bought two more so that I won't have to rush again to replace the charger. I'll probably ditch my Sense in a year (I've had it for one year) because of the charger issue.
I like my sense especially for the sleep data. However, I've been through 3 or 4 chargers with the sunken pin problem. It happens even with OEM ($$) chargers. I've had to buy them ahead of time so I'll be ready when one fails (so I probably can't get a free replacement). I've decided that unless Fitbit decides to fix this problem, when the Sense I'm using fails, I will get a different brand tracker.
Does anyone know a fix for a stuck charging pin?
I ran into a weird problem. The watch stopped charging. Note that it went all the way dead. I bought a new charger, but when I tried to charge it, I noticed it had started vibrating continuously. So it took hours to charge to 20%. I went into settings on the watch, did a factory reset. Still vibrating. Set the phone to forget the watch on Bluetooth and it quit vibrating and charged in about an hour. Then I had to set it up all over again. It’s fine now.
Note that I did go to Fitbit tech support,
but they told me the best they could do was 30 percent off on a new watch. I hadn’t had the watch for a year at that point. Why they didn’t tell me to do a factory restart, I don’t know. It was the obvious solution, but I thought you had to go through the phone not the watch and couldn’t find the settings.
This is more on how to change the charger and not the phone which is what I want.
Tried everything, even manually charging the small 3.85v battery with a DC-DC step down but nothing. Had to order a replacement battery from alie. Working now
How do you get the battery out? There a video for that?
Very bad charger design. I have gone through 3 wires and a replacement watch in 6 months. The pins on the charger pad eventually depress with use, and will not make contact on the watch bottom. When this happens the watch will not charge, and the only remedy is a new charger cord. I am now convinced that Fitbit is in the replacement cord business.
Hello
Me Fitbit starts and a battery red appear on display whit the clock
Tried all of that finally I had to call fitbit and cause it's still under warranty they mailed out a new one which I get this coming saturday.
Go straight to #4 and clean the pin inserts on the back with a q tip and rubbing alcohol. It's gunked up.
Why would you run your finger over the ports? You're adding oil to it.
One of my pins recessed back into the charger, I had to buy a new charger.
Another solution. After trying everything, I looked carefully at my pins and saw that one had been pushed in. No fix for this, that I know of, other than replacing with another charger.
After reading through these comments it seems that stuck pin is happening to a lot of people. My wife and I have gone through four leads with the same problem, and are waiting for two more to be delivered. It's a poor design and needs fixing.
Rub your thumb around the pins and as you do, so you push them in farther and that’s 90% of why these don’t charge is because of the poor charging unit. I now buy a pack of two almost every month off Amazon. I did buy the namebrand ones twice and they last just as long.
#1 reason they don't charge is a pin gets stuck in the charger. They are spring loaded. The plastic could be melted holding the pin in
The battery pin broke off and got stuck in the hole
It's a rotten charger design. I'd been struggling to charge mine ever since I bought it. It finally refused to charge at all yesterday.
I had a text chat with Fitbit and they're sending me a replacement. In my experience Fitbit products have always been a bit hit and miss. The Customer Service however has always been excellent.
Nope. None of the above worked with my Sense. Still says 0% when I hold the "button" long enough. Nothing about this watch ever worked well through almost a year now, better off without it. Be forewarned! Hard to sync, never could download apps to it, not the first time charging was a problem, etc. etc.
Thank you. Just got this watch and I'm not impressed. I've yet to get out working with a charge and set it up. Anyways the rubbing of the back surface and the charger itself worked for me so thank you. Hopefully once I get it set up and working it will all be worth it.
So frustrated. This is my third style fitbit and I've never had to do all this.
BONUS THING TO TRY:
Your Fitbit may be in water lock mode. Double tap firmly on the screen (I had to do it quite hard with my knuckle) along with the steps in this video. Hope this helps someone.
I think it’s just my charger probably gonna need a new one
The screen of my Fitbit sense came off after 17 months of use. I didn't even take a shower with it. It doesn't turn on.
Do you know how to fix it?
None of your tips worked for me. The only thing it showed was 0% even though its been charging for 9 hours
Im having the same issue, did you find something else that has worked?
@@thompsonvalleyrestorationd9303 Yes. Look at the four spring pins of the charging cable. I have gone through three failed chargers, and each of them fail exactly the same way. When you hold the charging cable in the mating orientation, the pin on the lower left location doesn't extend all the way. You need to knock it around until the pin fully extends, and even then it's problematic. Cleaning the pin may help for a very short time, but it doesn't last. I have put aside the three failed charging cables and am now using a fourth. I've gone ahead and bought a fifth charging cable, in anticipation of it failing soon. I have no idea why it's that particular pin. Both Fitbit-branded and third-party cables have the same problem.
@@craighansen1632 this is true for be too. And for a Wahoo heart rate monitor that uses a similar charger with two pogo stick pins. I would question whether the pogo stick pins are fit for purpose.
@@craighansen1632 Hmm. Tried the alcohol fix and it needed cleaning no doubt, but I was getting the 0% (still) and no other reading at all. I flicked the pins with my thumbnail, as you suggested, having been afraid of manipulating them before and slapped it back on, expecting nothing to be honest. As I have it attached to my computer for charging generally, it made the noise it makes when any device is recognized, and like a device which is having difficulty making contact it made the noise it makes then repeatedly and irregularly. Then, this seemed to be enough for the logo to come on, allowing the watch to get enough 'charge' to actually begin charging itself. It has no gone from 0% to 8% as I write this. Now that it has enough charge to charge itself me will see what happened. To speed it up, I am moving it to a wall wart to see if that will now speed up the charge...it is now at 9%. I think Craig is right, but I could not see or feel the pins being at different heights, it just seemed when flicked and reattached firmly/more aggressively, it got a charge. This mean the charge was there all the time, but something was not making a connection somewhere. I am not going to pretend to know what, but if he says it is the charger I am inclined to believe him and think the manufacturer should be replacing those chargers for free cause that is NOT right. I haven't been using mine a year- BIG agree with Tom Killick, too!
The alcohol wrked for me
Alcohol worked for me
None work 😢😢😢
None of these options worked.
The Sense is an awful device. Even when working, the menus were hard to use and dumb. I'm not really even worried I'm in the boot loop if my next attempt fails it will go in the trash.
Sounds like a skill issue 😂😂
Fitbit charging cord one pin sticks in, thus no contact for charging. Absolute junk design. Will never buy another one of these again
