You should first go to the tourism office and get a permit for all these provinces, which will not be a problem for you. Then you can travel all over Afghanistan without any problem.

I think most those photos and reason for security guard must be because of the safety issue, if you get kidnapped etc then it becomes an embarrassment for Pakistan government so they need to know where you are. Probably same reason why alot of hotels require you to fill in a form so the government knows where you are and the Scotland embassy can contact you if war breaks out or theres a earthquake they can send evacuation to you etc

Was a pleasant surprise to see you guys here in this video, would love to go, would only be travelling myself though which might be an issue if anything happens lol. Cant be any worse than Milan though, only place i have ever been scared while abroad
To be fair, they have much better cars for bus station pickups in pakistan than certain other country in the same region.
