- Yeah I know, I'm basically the Injora shock guy now... Not a title I was hoping for when I started out on UA-cam! Lol!
But this time I'm unboxing some of their blue shocks, which come in a variety of lengths to suit your RC needs.
And as requested by a viewer, I'll include a "how to fill your shocks" segment which (I will admit) is not pro-worthy! Lol! I'm an enthusiast, not an expert by any stretch! Hahaha! Get the bubbles out, and go catch some air!!!

I had these shocks before I had my channel. I recommend using blue thread lock on the lower shock mount. Mine came unthreaded and I lost my spring and center spacer cause I didn’t catch it quickly on the trails. Great video 👍

Hello Fellow friend....just a question...do you have any experience with the rc4wd mudslinger tires? Just curious on the direction of application....ive heard and seen different opinions....just thought id ask of your expertise....thanks in advance if ya do its greatly appreciated.....Id hate to mount them then find out they are backwards😂😂✌

Can't say much about direction, they do seem to angle forward like a chevron would and that's how we mounted them. Hope that helps! 🤙

One thing that the cheaper shock can’t seem to provide is “shock travel”. The better shocks seem to give close to 30 mm of travel on a 100 mm shock (eye to eye) as where the injoras and others seem to only have between 25-28 mm. Also, I went on eBay and found “soft sets” of springs that will hopefully work well in my 10.2 crawler. It seems for crawlers looking for a softer set these cheaper shocks have much stiffer spring rates. Still waiting for all of my product to come in, we’ll see what kind of Frankenstein mess I come up with😬
Try taking a bit of oil out of the shocks to allow for the piston to move all the way up and down. I had to do that on mine, it helped a lot! 👊

Nice, I did the exact same thing to the same shocks, only thing I did different was adding a droop spring under the piston inside the shock.

Did these shocks leak over time I just bought the 120mm set for my dads Hpi crawler king that original shocks are 77mm/117mm compressed and extended
Great question. Unfortunately, I can't help, since I installed them on my Tamiya Dark Impact, I have only driven it once and it's been sitting on the shelf since. 🤷♂️
Hi. I found the injura shocks a bit gritty, the ones you have on your Pumpkin. I ended up removing them and went with Fastrax on my LB and they seem much better and a larger bore.
Is that right?!?! That's funny, because I find the orange Injoras I have on my MP to be the smoothest of the bunch! Must have some interesting QC going on over there at the Injora factory. Lol! 🤙

@@poorboysrc To be fair to them, I contacted them and they replaced one shock which must not have been machined properly as the piston would not move freely. Was great customer service.

Hi. A question, so the hardness of the shock absorbers depends on how much oil is inside and not on the viscosity of the oil?
There are a few factors that will determine the stiffness of a shock: The viscosity of the oil, the resistance level of the spring, the volume level of the oil, and how many holes there are in the piston. 👊🏼

Hey! Something very strange happened to me with the traxxas jato shocks. I opened it up, took out the oil, washed it with soapy water and cleaned the interior. I dried it, then I put a new oil. I did it with all four shocks. 1 week later, only one of the piston started to stick inside the cup, the others are perfect. To this day I still don't understand how this happened or why. Would you have an explanation?

I always though that the shock should be full and it’s the holes in the piston that allow it to travel through the oil?
Hey pal, thanks for the comment. Can you give some more context to your question? This is a bit of an older video of mine and I don't recall everything discussed. 🍻
@@poorboysrc I was saying that I always thought that the shock should be full to the top when your done. But then I realized you have to have space for the rod to displace the oil. So a little air space would allow this. I remember back in the day the shocks I always had, had a bladder that took care of the “air space.”
@@harleyguy932 ah I hear ya! Yeah these shocks, if there's no room at the top, when the shock compresses, they'll kind of "bind" a little, I'm not sure exactly how to explain it, but definitely leave a little room at the top for the air and oil to move around and you're gold! 👊
@@poorboysrc yea we got some cheapie s off of eBay. They seem built well all aluminum but have a tiny inner diameter, so my thinking is less volume, maybe heavier oil?
@@harleyguy932 all depends on the weight. Take it for a spin and when there's too much rebound, thicken up that oil.
What weight oil ? I used 30 weight and they bounced back like they had no oil
I'm using Tamiys yellow (soft) oil, which I believe is about 30wt. They're still a little bouncy, just like yours.
I had this shock...but mine seem to be leaking on the bottom shock...help needed...
Try taking them apart and inspect the rubber o-rings. A leaking shock is usually either a damaged o-ring or possibly the piston got damaged resulting in the o-ring getting cut. 👊
What’s a good oil weight for crawler?
Depends on a few variables, truck weight etc... I'd say start with 35wt and tune from there.
what is the difference between a dual spring and a single spring?
The dual springs have different resistance rates where a single spring only offers one resistance rate. 👊

Hey John thanks for the sub!!! I'd say these are plenty soft for a crawler. Not the smoothest shock I've bought, I don't think I'd use them in a crawler because they're a little sticky. The orange Injoras, however, I'd drop on a crawler for sure! If you haven't seen my review on those be sure to scope it out! 🤙
these shocks are not good, like when you screwed the top cap on the rubber o-ring got caught on outside of body, they just dont work any better than cheap stock shocks
They're cheap, they work ok, not the smoothest but luckily, no oil leaks yet.
I did get some scx24 injora adjustable oil shock, and I was wondering wich oil to put in, i am not a fan of oil either but i wanna try 😅
I usually start at 35wt and dial up or down my thickness from there. Have fun bro! 🍻

@@maximizeism always happy to help, but I have no experience with the 24 scale world. I would think since it's so light, a lighter oil would be a good starting point. But that's really a guess. Try and start at 20wt and you can always get thicker from there. 👊
