Dear Diz. I Used to Sit In At “The Thomas A’ Becket “, In The Old Kent Road In 1965 !. He Was A Teriffic Inspiration For Me. I Still Have Old And”Historic Photos”, Of Those Early Days. Say No More.!. Marvellous. x .
1960/61 ......The Gyre and Gimble ( Charing Cross ,London ) listening to Diz in that smokey coffee bar/ cellar until the sun came up!!! Wow, those were the days.
haven't heard "gyre and gimble" in decades. brilliant name for such a place! nonsensical phrase from lewis carroll for a venue catering to a music genre heavily based on improvisation. brilliant
Does anyone know anything about a recording he made around 1963 as the Hot Club of London. As far as I know not released. Would love to find it. Thanks.
Tony Freer if it hot club of London - Denny Wright would be lead guitarist as it was his band and Diz would have played La Pompe behind him. Tge sound library had a list of all recordings you could possibly trace it that way?
