When I see uncredited content esp content that's good and I want more, I'll Google something atypical within the content, like a bit of dialouge, or like in your case a guy driving around translating French and start from there.
But usually scrolling down is enough cuz most Redditors are tapped into the latest stuff and with 400,000,000 active accounts there are bound to be those who have seen it and are real good at giving credit when the credit was left out.
No defense, the op was a dikk for not throwing your link up, but 1) it hit big and people love you and 2) for those who cared they were able to find your link.

Keep going young man, make sure you make a point to make time to write a certain amount every day... and post as often as time permits.
