Simon basing his whole opinion on Iraola by looking at the la liga table is madness 😂 he’s beaten real and barca three times whilst playing some of the best football in the league. Whilst also having a BANG AVERAGE SQUAD. With the highest press of any team in the top 5 leagues. He’s an incredibly talented coach. Simon just doesnt know a thing about him.
I was praying he'd come to leeds. He's one of bielsas disicples
39% win record. Doesn't sound "incredibly talented".
Calm down. The Premier league is totally different from la Liga. When you are press crazy in the Premier league like Leeds, you end up getting relegated. Guardiola was a press crazy coach at Barca, but when he came to the Premier league he had to tweak his tactics. No matter how good your players are, a press crazy team can get worn out half way thru the season if they don't have a good bench.
People on talksport don't know anything about European football? What a shocker 😂 they barely get the Brexit stuff right.
whos lauhing now
I understand the thinking, with O’neil they’re guaranteed to be flirting with relegation again.
A very good chance they will still be flirting with relegation but they still have to try and be ambitious rather than just accept their fate.
Said it yesterday that 100 percent of media and fans was killing brighton board for sacking chris houghton. Then they brought in potter. Then everyone thought brighton would struggle with de zerbi. At the end of the day english media and fans are clueless about manager from overseas. Everton fans was holding up signs for lampard staying while the board wanted vitor pereira. Look how it turned out. Why discussing a topic you lot couldnt possibly know the answer to
Not every English fan. I was disappointed when Scott Parker came to Bournemouth, because from what I had seen at Fulham, I was even unsure he would 'get the job done' at times, the style of football, and traditionally Bournemouth has always been a front foot attacking team from the days of John Bond, Harry Redknapp, Shaun O'Driscoll and Eddie Howe, was turgid crab-ball, where we struggled to break down teams like Hull, Peterborough, Reading and others who played a low block,
Things steadied with GON, but again we seemed frightened to take the games to teams, and the amount of times we were ahead last season, only to sit back and allow teams in, Leeds and Spurs spring to mind, was disturbing. GON also had a habit of tinkering, and often adopted an attitude of trying not to loose a game, rather than winning.
A large number of Bournemouth fans felt we needed a fresh start a while ago. We were very interested in Di Zerbi, and the one that Bournemouth fans really caught the eye, Kjetil Knutsen seemed like a great fit.
You see, we know who we are, a small provisional club punching above our weight, but we are making some major off pitch investments (which Simon made no mention) and are now actively looking to expand the stadium. So getting in the right fit, and this is our first foreign coach btw, is vitally important. Time will tell, of course, but everything about the timing and what this fella has done so far seems right.
The issue is that pundit-land is obsessed with the top 6 cartel, that clubs like us, Brighton, Brentford and hopefully Luton, go under the radar, thus you get a largely ignorant broader fanbase.
They're also clueless about domestic managers, apparently.
@@Inukshuk67 I don't mind SJ, because he gives the viewpoint from a former owner, but White like so many of the pundits on Sky, BBC, BT, ESPN, Talksport et al have no idea what's going on. Its different when it's mates down the pub, but remembering that football subscriptions have gone up, and many of these clowns are paid fantastic money to spout BS.
How many more f**cking times do we have to hear about Roy Keane talking about his time at Man Utd? Gary Neville and his soap box, Paul Merson barely contingent opinions, Alan Shearer stating the obvious, or Gary Lineker's smug introductions.
This issue more generally is that the guff many of these people spout is then repeated ad verbatim by 'fans' who simply react unthinkingly. I was fortunate to live in the Netherlands for a number years, and while football is about opinions, when you have the likes of Johan Cruyff, Louis Van Haal, Gus Heddink, Edwin Van Der Saar ( the then new CEO of Ajax at the time), people actively working or directly involved in football, providing insights or commentary, you get far more deeper knowledge.
Similar situation in Germany, Italy, France, Spain and many other countries, and a better informed fanbase lifts domestic and international football, and why foreign coaches thrive against English coaches (with the exception of Eddie Howe, who worked with Simeone before taking the Newcastle job).
Hence you get low rent 'experts' like Darren Bent, Jamie O'Hara, Jason Cundy. This is why fan channels do well regarding their club, and why they are more trusted, than 90% of the grifters that appear on shows like this.
@@keiththomas1416 Low rent is right. Standards in the UK are lower than in the Netherlands and most people seem to tolerate it so long as they are making money. It's pathetic.
To Simon - Mark McAdam said yesterday how our back room staff will always be monitoring coaches across Europe. He thinks we would have been looking at Iraola for maybe even a couple of years.
Jordan knows nothing! Iraola's team beat Barcelona and Real Madrid last season. Plus he was a magnificent player for Athletic Bilbao for 12 years and made a complete fool of Rio Ferdinand when they played Man United in the Europa League back in about 2012. I am a Celtic fan (I also support Athletic Bilbao) and if we had not gone for Brendan Rodgers, Iraola is the man I would have wanted as manager.
Nice from Foley great appointment he was linked to Leeds.
We laud brilliant scouting of players but we do not give the same adulation for managers.
Using the appeal of the Premier League to land an ambitious exciting young manager from Spain since Fran Escriba.
I was praying we'd get him.
They are trying to do what Brighton did with De Zerbi, one of the best young managers out there that over achieves with the players he has & develops players to a whole another level. A proper manager & coach, positive football but also pragmatic.
Yes. He knows how to coach an elite high press.
Hopefully he can get us playing entertaining football again! Under GON [ and Parker ] it was horrible to watch.
I wince every time Jim White attempts to pronounce Rayo Vallecano. 🥴
If Bournemouth finish mid table next season and have a good cup run, it'll be a massive achievement.
Jordanite = Top LAD Proper Clobber 💯 Facts
Jimbo is no match on Lordship Jordan
Real Madrid eh
His shine has wore off.
Foreigner. Loves football. Attention to detail. Philosophy. Culture. Project. Great hair. Spanish. Apnothe prophet of football. Genius. Just irristable these guys. They just do so well in England. Keep them coming.😊😊
Hope he does well, Bournemouth are a great club they deserve their own De Zerbi.
his job is a manager is that the answer for your thumbnail? honestly why don't you do a research about managers across top 5 leagues? what a stupid question
This new coach is gonna win y'all over pretty quick.
One of bielsas boys.
@@TheGeneral_LUFC You all wanted Bielsa out
Sounds like he is another 'Eddie Howe' type...which Bournemouth will like...
Never can beat that era I'm a cherries 🍒 fan of 58 years but if we get exciting football and goals either end thats all we want as long as we score than we let in bring it on
Whats the difference? U would still sack gary around October if results dont go their way…
Bit of a Gamble for Bournemouth but if gets the right backing you never know
Wasn't he the keeper for Bilbao when Utd played them?
Spanish = good Brexit= bad
I for one welcome our new manager, Carlos Kickaball.
Didn’t simon/palace win a league title???
Simon is right as Bournemouth aren’t a recognised force right now but at least in terms of potential support, the “Bournemouth Poole ( sw Dorset ) Metropolitan area” has potential at no.13 in Govt. population stats with total population over 450k superior to Southampton locally let alone lack of league club competition for support west or north until Bristol,Swindon Exeter or south to Cherbourg - all 60 miles distant . Saying that , they couldn’t fit very many of these new hypothetical supporters into Dean Court but with big non league now pulling in support there’s still Eastleigh Yeovil Town Bath City or Weymouth within an hour away🐢😁
But the Cherries have a bunch of Foreign players 🤔
@@whoknew2273in my day Superfletch - all the way from Hartlepool was their most exotic import . James Haytor didn’t count in my opinion cos you can see the iow from bmouth 🙄👍
Leeds MkII coming your way B'mouth. Another 1 season wonder?
If Gary O”Neil was called Garriola O”Nellios and from Spain and did what he did last year, Spurs would be in for him, Chelsea too and Bournemouth would be trying to give him a 10 year contract. Name and nationality only difference.
Sam Allardyce said if If my name was Sam allardicio He would be hired in premier league 😂😂😂💀
Bournemouth getting relegated incoming
if he spent time in new york then he wont speak english :P
I have placed a bet with paddy power that this guy is sacked within 10 games easy money
Ur ball knowledge is clearly embarrassing
How much money did u put on the bet, hopefully anything under a ten quid otherwise that’s a waste, he is a quality coach and bill foley(AFCB owner) said he is here to build a platform so he will probably get a chance of more than ten games😂
@@Dom_Solanke coaches fail from time to time
For the bookie
Well you've lost that bet! You don't know much about football, do you? He's beaten Real Madrid and Barcelona with an unfancied team. I think he can handle the likes of Crystal Palace and Brentford! And he'll give the big guns a run for their money too, especially at home.
Your top 10 premier league clubs have 1 English manager
Yes, English fans boast about the Premiership being the best league in Europe but it's fool of foreigners! LOL
Copy leeds wow
That's a more astute remark than you know as Iraola played under Bielsa at Athletic Bilbao. He probably plays a similar system but is more pragmatic. You don't beat Real Madrid and Barcelona in the same season without being that way inclined.
Hes 40. So he's not young, but hes young as a manager. He's young Simon.
He's better than O'Neil Simon just doesn't know who he is , just like he thinks he knows everything when he doesn't
Exactly. Anyone who watches la liga pr has seen rayo play know how talented this guy is. Plays the highest press out of all the teams in the top 5 leagues, barca have never beaten them and he’s beaten Real Madrid three times too whilst almost securing rayo European football. Simon just doesnt know anything outside the prem.
@@Ryan-ep4py totally agree bro and let's face it Simon don't know much in the prem either
And that is pretty poor. You would think he would do some research at least. Very unprofessional. But then he talks nonsense a lot of the time anyway!
@@markcampbell1466 I couldn't agree with you more mate the guy actually chats so much shite with his big words and people actually love the guy lol
Hopefully they go down now for what they did to oneil
