Before the Internet Took it all away i remember Walking on the road run up To Xmas it was that busy
It's sad to see the empty streets and shops, who knows where it will all end.
What was the safety pin all about?
I noticed a photo of the Clarkston gas explosion. Am I correct. I think 21 were killed in the early 70s ?
Yes, Clarkston 1971 gas explosion.

@@1gerard47I feel the same, and I'm only 10 miles from Glasgow.
@ 8:15 - I'm pretty sure this is Bridge Street, immediately you came over the River Clyde. I used to like the Army Surplus store in the 60's.
I can't find any information on this photograph, but a do remember an army surplus store in Bridge St 1977, but I think it was a much bigger store.
@@colinburrowes8063 I can't think of any other Army Surplus stores in the Glasgow area in the 60's - 80's. Maybe I missed the others.
There were loads, at least 20. Starting the big school in 1970 old canvas gas mask bags were the school bag of choice for many boys, adorned with favourite football team, band etc.@@fontybits
