Well done! Finally advice that isn't do a FBA and never lower an armhole ! Crotch curve visual was a light bulb moment. Thank you.
Right?? Total 🤯🤯 moment! ❤️ ~J
Please, more videos with Noreen helping with common problems we all face. Love her videos!
Yes!! She has more planned, but any specific technique requests?? ~J
I agree with Sharon’s comment and would love for Noreen to cover back issues (forward neck and high round back etc.).
Will pass it along! ❤️ ~J
Thank you so much Noreen. You have solved a long time issue that I have been puzzling over!
Woo hoo! Glad to hear it was helpful for you! We are loving this new series from Noreen! ❤️ ~J
The crotch curve comparison is brilliant! That red is your money color, gorgeous. Thank-you for showing this on multiple shoulder styles.
We also thought that was SUCH a helpful comparison!
Noreen, this was an excellent tutorial! I have noticed these little wrinkles lately on my garments and your clear explanation will help me make them disappear.
Thank you Noreen! Love your Technique Tuesday videos! You have changed my pattern fitting from loathing to love.
Ahh, that's the best praise! Thanks for the love for Noreen! ❤️ ~J
Excellent teacher and example garments. More please !
She's got more planned! Any specific requests for future vids?? ~J
I was so happy to see this video in my inbox this morning! Great information and Noreen is a joy to watch. Thank you!
Agreed! We love Noreen! ❤️ Thanks for watching! ~J
Ah! The crotch curve analogy! 🙌 Brilliant. One question about adding length to the sleeve cap: if you do the full half inch in the front and the back, aren’t you effectively adding 1 inch to the length of the sleeve armscye curve instead of the half inch that was added to only the front armscye of the bodice? Is that because you want to add additional ease as well, or would adding a quarter inch in the front and back be an option so that you’re lengthening the curves of the sleeve and the bodice armscyes by the same amount? (And does my question even make sense?).
It's the same as adding length to the front of the bodice--you would add the same to the back as well, or your front bodice would be longer than the back. So still ½" total length, from a height perspective.
But Noreen will be by at some point to clarify further. 😊 Thanks for watching! ~J
I was thinking the same thing. Couldn't wrap my head around it just being 1/2" but figured I was missing something. 😂
I totally get your thought process! In this case it’s a length vs circumference issue. Think if you folded a piece of paper in half that was 10”. It would be 5” long. If we added 1/2” to both ends it would be 5 1/2 “ long still folded in half. But if we measured around the whole piece it would be 6” around. So yes that is adding a bit of ease but we need the length. Hopefully that helps 😊
@@wrappedinthread733 Thank you! That makes sense. ☺️
Another great video on fitting! love Noreen and her great tricks on fitting...Happy that love notion has her on a more frequent episodes!💕
Yes! We are loving having her on the channel regularly! ❤️ ~J
You are such a great teacher. I love your adjustment lessons. They make sense to me.
She's such a natural, we love having her! Thanks for watching! ~J
As mothers and seamstresses we occasionally take a backseat when it comes to our children, especially at wedding time! I had no daughters but my son and his wife asked me to do everything, everything meaning flowers, cake, rehearsal dinner, programs, the bridesmaid dresses, flower girl and candle lighters dresses! I could have said no, but since I probably never have another chance I took it. You had a wrinkle in your very pretty dress; mine had the hem taped in! Thank you for the tutorial!
What a hugh gift you have done for your son! Beautiful
How very precious they trusted you to help with so much!! A little hem tape never hurt anyone (or an underarm wrinkle, but still nice to know how to fix it! 😊) Thank you for sharing! ❤️ ~J
This video is a treasure. Maureen has great ideas and explains things clearly. I expected this to be a bust area adjustment but no - armceye - mind blown!
Ha! She's very tricky, that Noreen! She's been working on this for a while, we're excited to finally share it! ❤️ ~J
I have had issues with the armscye for forever but never known how to fix it. Great video!
Woo hoo! We wish you many perfect armscyes from here on our! ❤️ ~J
Thanks, Noreen that was another great tutorial. I learn so much from your videos!

Noreen, that was an excellent tutorial! Thank you so much! ❤️🇨🇦❤️
Glad it was helpful!
Oh wow! I’ve always shortened the cap. I would never have thought to shave at the side. Another great tutorial! Thanks!
Right? Mind blown! 🤯 We all learned something new! ❤️ Thanks for watching! ~J
Thank you Noreen, you do such a good job of explaining the why of the problem and the how of fixing it!
The why is so important and really helps understand the fix! She did a great job explaining both! ❤️ Thanks for watching! ~J
WOW!!! Thank you so much for taking the fear out of alterations!! I need to do this but have been unsure and nervous about tackling this. You have helped so much!!! I love your tutorials, you make it look so easy. THANK YOU!!!!
Woo hoo! We hope you can now proceed with confidence! ❤️ ~J
I have some difficulty grasping spatial relationships. (Geometry was sooo hard!) I think this is why I don’t intuitively know where to make adjustments on a 2D pattern for a 3D body. But your instructions made perfect sense! I’m sure I won’t remember so this video is an autosave! Thank you. 💐
It can definitely hurt the brain to think about (at least it does mine 🤣). Definitely a worthy resource to return to later! ❤️ Thanks for watching! ~J
Wonderful video, thank you. So clear.
Awesome, glad you enjoyed it! ~J
I just love how you explain everything. I could listen to you all day! Ty for this wonderful explanation and tutorial. You are an amazing seamstress!
We agree - such great explanations!
Thank you so much! Great video with really useful clear explanations.
You're very welcome, thanks for watching! ~J
Thank you! I made the Aria and had this issue on what was, otherwise, a well-fitted shirt. I’ll give these ideas a try, but I’m just betting the armscye is too short. I appreciate these tutorials. 😊-Deborah
Hope you're successful on your next Aria! Please let us know how it goes! ❤️❤️ ~J
Wonderful tutorial!
So glad you think so, thanks for stopping by! ~J
Thank you so very much. Your Willow looks great
She looks fab in all her makes! ❤️ Thanks for stopping by! ~J
Excellent, thank you❤
You're very welcome, thanks for watching! ~J
You should be elated, you s8d an awesome job. I'm going to save this, it's a little overwelm8ng for me all at once , so I will revisit a few times 😊 thank you ❤

Wonderful video!!
Glad you think so! Thanks for stopping by! ~J
Great info!!
Glad you think so, thanks for stopping by! ~J
Did you also have to lengthen the armhole in the back pattern piece on the harmony 1/2 inch or did you just ease in the extra 1/2 inch of the sleeve to the existing back?
She answers this 19:40
Thank you for clarifying! ❤️ ~J
Is the sloped shoulder done only on the front?
Good question! I know Noreen will be by to answer in more detail, so hang tight for now! 😊 ~J
That answer is : depends on your body and the particular pattern. I’ve done just the front, both the front and back. 😊
Question - when you cut the pattern and added to lower the arm scythe, didn’t it also lower the dart placement? Should we adjust the dart placement up the same as we had to adjust the neckline back up?
Excellent! Thank you so much for this video and information!
Noreen, I can't thank you enough. The shoulder slope has always been an issue for me. Thanks for addressing this with different patterns. This has been so helpful. I can't wait for you to share more on fitting with Love Notions Patterns.
Thanks Noreen! Really great tutorial. I’ve been struggling to figure out this fitting issue for ages. Such clear concise information and presentation.
Love to see Noreen doing these videos. She has so much experience to share. ❤
What would have made this video just perfect is if you had shown the alteration to do on a garment that was already made. I have about a dozen shirts that would benefit from that process! Thanks for the video!
Excellent, thank you. 😊😊😊
You are a genius!!!❤😊❤
Noreen, I just absolutely love you and your videos! ❤ Mainly because we’re probably very close to the same size and your problems are my problems! And you make it look so very easy, too! Just love you, girl!❤. Thank you for the help you render in sewing problems!!
Aw, what a sweet comment for Noreen! So glad you've enjoyed her vids, thanks for watching! ~J
I get these wrinkles all the time. I have adjusted for them sometimes but totally forgot what I had done. thank you for just an informative video.
We all learned something new today! Glad it was helpful for ya! Thanks for stopping by! ~J
