Wow . . . just what I needed today. My teacher asked me recently (when I played him a jam I was really pleased with) "do you know the chord progression underneath what you are playing?" I couldn't tell him. I had just taken off in Am and stayed there. I am glad I found this video tonight.

Excellent demonstration...and outstanding teaching principle by scaffolding the technique so a player can gradually step out of the comfort zone.

Love the last half of the video! I've struggled with fills between chords. I'll have to check out the noodling video and hopefully find a video of how you played the harmonics at the end. Sounded pretty cool! Thanks

Thank you for the kind words my friend! And your English is better than many Americans here on UA-cam.😂 that said, guitar, like life is a continuum. It’s just a series of improving if we are constantly learning and practicing and measuring. If you start at my free course, it will give you all the essentials that you need to have a really solid foundation. You can find that at: www.yourguitarsage.com/30

Hey Broughams, while watching some of your other most excellent videos, where you were displaying your more humorous side, it occurred to me that you have kind of a Shawn Spencer (Psych) vibe going. (which is a compliment, I think Shawn is hillarious!)
That is all. Rock on !
edit: BTW, that little lead run you first did over that A-G-F pattern was groovy as hell ! Ima go rip that off, right now ! (and yeah, i realize you used that piece to illustrate the more limited approach, I still thought it sounded great, LOL!)

Eric, may I ask what year that Strat is? I'm curious, because I just saw a video the other day regarding fake Strats, and one of the "tells" is the placement of the logo. That Fender logo seems to be much more centered on the headstock than most Strats I have seen. I don't mean to come on your site and say "that's a fake!", and that's not what I'm doing...but I noticed that and was wondering. I really enjoy your lessons, and have learned a great deal from you and your cat, thanks again.

Thanks friend. It’s a 65. The real way is is to take it all apart like I have. All the parts are 64/65 parts. I have a letter from George Gruhn of authenticity. I have seen lots of “distressed” guitars and copies. There is a certain look and feel about them.
